And it's only because the hunter actually used something different for Cyrus. Silver.
He used silver instead of iron. And if wolfsbane is bad for werewolves, then silvers are the worst.
And that's the reason his health deteriorated so quickly as compared to Rowan, who was literally covered in wolfsbane head to toe and still managed to stay conscious.
The combination of silver and wolfsbane could have killed anyone on the spot, but somehow Cyrus fought against it. His will to live was so strong that he survived two of the deadliest weapons.
