He thrust his hands forward, and the bolts shot across the arena in twin streams of destructive energy.
Syra raised her hand, and a massive magic circle formed in front of her. From it, a concentrated beam of magic erupted, glowing with a deep crimson light.
The two attacks collided and sent shockwaves across the arena. The ground beneath them cracked and splintered, and debris was thrown into the air. The air itself seemed to scream from the force of the collision.
For a moment, neither attack gave ground, then both attacks exploded.
The blast sent both Kayden and Syra skidding backward across the arena. Kayden dug his heels into the ground to stop himself, while Syra landed gracefully and raised another magic circle without hesitation.
She released another beam, this one larger and brighter than the last.
