"So besides you avoiding me for that ridiculous reason what, if anything, has your father said about what we discussed?" I asked seriously.
"He said he'd be willing to pay a deposit of twelve thousand galleons and a full payment of fifty thousand if the fruit works as advertised." she said with a barely concealed expression of annoyance.
"That was not the payment I said I'd take. I don't need galleons since I have a few hundred thousand sitting in my Gringotts account. I want knowledge of a rare variety." I said with a frown.
"He rejected the idea outright. Said no single item was worth what you were asking." she said flatly.
"I see, an understandable thought I suppose but since i'm not the one missing out in this matter I won't press. Plenty of other potential buyers after all." I said before leaving to go help someone else with the levitation charm.
I had extended a hand only for it to get slapped away. I wasn't upset by the rejection though as in truth the moment I had eaten the goro goro no mi I was reluctant to hand out the yami yami no mi on this world as it would be a direct threat to me if I did.-
I couldn't just back out of a deal though as that would ruin my credibility, something I couldn't afford this early in the game. Now though I was free to pass the fruit off to another world and never need to worry about it again. It was a relief to be honest. The rest of charms class was fairly simple as I just went around helping anyone who looked like they needed it. I even earned some favor, though begrudging as it was, from the Slytherins when I ignored their snide comments to help them. -
It was rather funny that the Gryffindor and Hufflepuff's on the opposite side of the classroom all had looks of outright envy at the obvious improvement those I was helping had. The only reason I wasn't helping them was because they were not in my direct vicinity and I had my hands full with this side to begin with. The most common problems my peers were having was that they would either shorten, lengthen or mispronounce the words of the spells.-
It was a miracle that failure was the worse most of them were experiencing. Flitwick's warning about with wizard Barrufio was not a joke. Mispronunciation could very easily cause catastrophic failure with severe consequences. The worst case of failure though was on the Gryffindor's side where Seamus Finnigan once again somehow managed to explode his feather with a nonexplosive spell. I let my curiosity get the better of me at this and walked across the room to the front of his desk as he was cleaning the soot off his face.-
"Try again. I am curious what is causing you so much trouble." I said honestly as I floated my own feather across the room to rest on his scorched desk.
"Erm, you sure mate? It might blow up again." he warned and I nodded.
"It's fine. Hopefully i'll be able to figure out what's wrong." I said with a reassuring smile.
"Alright." he said before making another attempt "Winggardium leviosa." he said as he swished and flicked his wrist.
The moment a red energy shot out of his wand to hit the feather I coated my hand in armament haki and slammed it down over the feather that let out a dull "thump" under it.
"Merlins beard! Are you okay!?" Seamus asked in horror as smoke rose from under my hand.
I raised the hand to show him it completely unharmed "Perfectly fine no need to worry. I believe i've figured out the source of your problems however." I said while the whole class stared at me like I grew a second head, even Flitwick.
"Forget that! How are you fine!?" Seamus asked with bright eyes.
"A small trick is all." I said with a chuckle.
"A localized Protego I believe." Flitwick postulated out loud.
"Nothing so powerful, similar in principle though." I said honestly.
"So what's wrong with Seamus anyways? You said you thought you figured it out right?" Dean Thomas asked.
"It's his wand. Something few people seem to really consider is that wands all have their own personalities. Seamus's wand dislikes quiet structured magic. I imagine if he were to try and cast a loud or combative spell his wand would perform perfectly on the first try." I answered honestly.
"You mean that whole wand choosing it's wizard thing wasn't just nonsense?" Seamus asked looking at his wand like it betrayed him.
"I'm no expert on wand lore but from what I have learned yes. It's not hopeless though as while right now the wand is impulsive and selfish if you take the time to train it you should be able to get it to behave more or less. I suggest incentivizing it, like a dog doing tricks. When it behaves give it a treat by casting a spell it likes, when it doesn't behave try again. Eventually your wand will listen more or less how you'd like." I suggested seriously.
"But I don't know any spells it likes?" Seamus said with a frown.
"Are you sure? Think about it. What spell have you attempted that went the way it was supposed to on the first try?" I nudged his mind to find the answer with my question.
"The sparks spells? Those are just easy right?" he offered unsure.
"True but so is this spell yet you fail here and succeed there." I said and he looked enlightened.
