"So like huntsmen?" she asked curiously.
"Similar but for entirely different reasons. Huntsmen get training because otherwise you might get yourselves or someone else killed by Grimm. For wizards it's because we might get ourselves or someone else killed by us. Magic without control is a dangerous thing for everyone involved. Repressed magic is far worse. Turns the wizard into an Obscurus. Incredibly destructive and short lived force of dark magic." I say honestly.
"So training is mandatory?" she asked and I nodded.
"Speaking of Grimm, one moment please." I say as my observation Haki picks up one of the creatures over a kilometer away.
I elementalize and manifest myself near it in a flash of light. It stood about two meters tall and sorta reminded me of a werewolf in terms of body structure with a wolf-like head and sharp claws with reverse jointed hind legs. It had a white bone-like material mask over it's inky black body and two hollow red eyes.
'A Beowulf I believe this species is called.' I thought idly as the monster swiped at me with it's claws only to go through me harmlessly. 'Can't get around logia intangibility either.' I noted.
"AWOOOO!" the monster howled as it futilely kept trying to harm me.
I coated my hand in armament haki before throwing a punch at it. Not even a hard one either just a casual punch. The tarry black body sizzled like water on a hot pan around the haki as my hand punched clean through the monsters torso. I stared at this result speechlessly as the monster began to dissolve into black smoke. -
'These things would get absolutely wrecked in Whitebeards world. Haki is crazy good in this world apparently.' I thought before returning to the cottage.
"That was fast." Yang said surprised to see me literally not even a minute after I left.
"Yes, well as it turns out Grimm are apparently super weak against armament haki. I barely even used any force and punched a whole through the Beowulf. Frankly i'm disappointed." I say honestly.
She blinked in stunned silence "You punch a hole through a Grimm, and you're disappointed?" she asked with a funny look.
"I expected serious durability. Instead I basically got the equivalent to putting cotton candy in water." I complained.
"That haki stuff, can rubes get that?" she asked with a gleam in her eyes.
"Of course she can. Whitebeard's stall has it constantly for sale. I also have several copies of it I carry at all times." I say with a nod.
"Can I have one?" she asked with her biggest puppy dog eyes.
"What do I get out of it?" I asked ignoring that look without any trouble.
"Uh, cookies?" she said offering the jar off the counter.
"Cute but no." I say chuckling.
"Darn, hmmm. Wait! Aura! I think dad said that was something that could be traded." she said with a face that just screamed impulsive decisions.
"One power system for another is it? Fair enough, I accept these terms." I say holding my hand out.
"Deal!" she said with a huge grin as she grabbed my hand.
I pulled out a copy of her aura ability with the system before letting her go.
"That felt funny." she said shaking herself to chase the memory away.
I flipped over my hand and a haki ability and skill stone both dropped out of thin air onto it.
"Your part of the deal. Just crush them and you are all set." I say calmly.
She eagerly snatches the stones out of my hand and squeezed them hard. They crack apart and the smoke of the system magic sank into her hand as not even a grain of the stones remained. She blinked as the knowledge settled into her mind and the new ability settled in her soul. She held out a hand and flames rose from it lightly as I felt her coat her hand in haki.-
"Is that normal?" she asked confused.
"No it is not. Fascinating. It seems that the haki fused with your aura in your soul to create a composite ability that applies the traits of your semblance to your haki." I say easily figuring out what happened.
"Is that good?" she asked still confused.
"It's amazing. It's not as simple as one plus one equals two. It's more like one plus one equals two hundred. You get all the positive aspects of both power systems stacked. Depending on the semblance I imagine this could make someone really bloody powerful. Like your semblance for example. It scales with punishment and has fiery attributes. That scaling and fire is now also part of your haki so the more abuse you take the hotter you burn and the harder it becomes to hurt you." I explained seriously.
I take out the aura ability stone I just got from her and without hesitation crush it and let the ability sink in. I almost immediately stumble as I feel a tight explosion ignite in my core and all of the energy in my body is sucked in like a black hole. This catastrophic emptiness vanishes as a new energy floods my system and I literally start glowing.-
"Your semblance makes you a glowstick!?" Yang said with an uproarious laugh.
I wasn't laughing at it however because she was entirely wrong. I wasn't using haki or magic or my new aura, this glow was just there passively. It wasn't just haki and aura mixing right now but my magic and devil fruit as well. What was happening to me right now was NOT even close to as easy to understand as what she experienced.
