The morning had gone surprisingly smoothly.
Blake woke up on time, which was already an achievement considering how badly he'd been sleeping lately.
By the time he got out of bed, Myles was already in the kitchen making breakfast, moving around the house with that same quiet efficiency he seemed to apply to absolutely everything.
Breakfast was uneventful, getting ready was uneventful. Even the walk to the bus stop was uneventful...
And yet Blake couldn't shake the anxiety sitting heavily in his chest.
He kept telling himself it wasn't that serious.
He was just going back to school.
That was it.
He'd gone through this before.
Well... technically, it wasn't exactly the same context, since he was never away for that long without giving an explanation from the start, or at the very least in between!
