Chapter 6 - Part 6 of Dragon Knight ARC V The Frozen Kingdom

Chapter 1: Attack on the Village

The evening was peaceful. Kids chased fireflies near the well while Strom sharpened his spear outside his small forge.

Wraith sat on the porch, drinking tea and teasing him.

Wraith: "You know, if you keep polishing that spear, one day it'll be sharper than your brain itself."

Strom (grinning): "That's the plan."

Sam walked by, waving casually.

Sam: "Love birds. You two should just admit it already."

Wraith & Strom (at the same time): "Shut up, Sam!"

Everyone laughed. It was one of those rare, perfect nights.

But peace, as always, is fragile.

A distant rumble echoed from the forest. The ground vibrated slightly, birds flew away in panic, and then—

CRASH!

A massive wall of ice burst from the treeline, freezing three houses instantly.

Villagers screamed as a tall figure stepped out from the fog. His armor shimmered like frozen silver, and every breath he took turned into mist that frosted the grass beneath his feet. Resting on his shoulder was a massive double-sided battle axe glowing with chilling blue runes.

Sifen (calm but cold): "Where is she…? Where is Wraith?"

No one answered.

Instead, a small girl, no older than six, tripped near a collapsing house as the frozen roof gave way above her.

WHOOSH!

Wraith blurred past Strom instantly, grabbing the girl and rolling across the ground just as the house shattered into frozen debris behind them.

She hugged the trembling child gently.

Wraith: "It's okay. I got you."

Sifen's eyes narrowed.

Sifen: "Pathetic… saving a human child? You bring shame to our bloodline."

Chains of ice shot from his hand, wrapping around Wraith before she could react. She growled, blue sparks flashing around her claws, but Sifen lifted her effortlessly off the ground.

Wraith (angry): "Let me go, old man!"

Sifen (cold): "No. You are coming home."

Strom rushed forward, spear ready, but Sifen slammed his axe into the ground, creating a massive wall of jagged ice that split the entire path apart.

Strom (shouting): "Let her go, you frozen freak!"

Sifen turned slightly, his voice chilling the air itself.

Sifen: "Try to stop me, dragon-blooded boy… and die."

Before Strom could attack, Sifen vanished with Wraith, leaving behind only frost and silence.

The village fell quiet except for the crying child in Strom's arms.

Strom: "Who the hell was that…?"

Sam: "What's the plan?"

Strom looked toward the frozen forest.

Strom: "You take care of them."

He tightened his grip on the spear shaft.

Strom: "I'll bring Wraith back."

Chapter 2 - The Frozen Throne

The land of Icyovale was merciless.

The further Strom traveled, the colder the wind became, biting through even thick fur cloaks, but his Dragon Blood was the only thing keeping him alive.

Along the way, he found a beautiful blue ice lily. He picked it carefully, planning to give it to Wraith, then placed it inside his pocket and kept walking.

And at the heart of this icy wasteland stood the Frozen Throne, Sifen's kingdom.

The walls weren't stone, but towering blocks of enchanted ice carved with glowing blue runes. An aura of cold so dense that even magic itself seemed to slow surrounded the castle.

Inside the prison...

Sifen: "You've grown stronger. But... weak. Soft. You save humans now?"

Wraith (gritting her teeth): "Someone had to stop you from crushing that little girl."

Sifen (snapping his gaze toward her): "A human girl. Do you realize what you've done? Our kind stands above them."

Wraith: "Above them in what? Killing families?"

The room fell silent. The frost knights stiffened but dared not move.

Sifen's eyes glowed cold blue as he slammed his axe into the floor, cracking the enchanted ice beneath him.

Sifen: "You talk too much now."

Wraith: "Tell me... did you ever look back at what you've done?"

Sifen: "I don't remember weaknesses."

Silence shattered as memories flooded back into Wraith's mind...

A freezing morning in the kingdom years ago.

Aurora lay weak on her bed while Sifen stood nearby, holding his newborn daughter in his arms.

Then child Wraith approached him carefully with a soft smile.

Wraith (innocent): "Father... may I hold her?"

Sifen (cold): "No."

After that, he walked into another room carrying the baby.

Slowly, everyone else also left the hall but not her.

Everyone except Wraith.

She sat quietly near the door, waiting for him.

Hours passed, but No sound came from inside.

Then finally...

The doors opened.

But only Sifen walked out.

Alone.

Wraith: "Father?"

Sifen never answered. He simply walked past her without even looking down.

Wraith stood up and pushed against the heavy doors, but they were too large for her small body.

Eventually, she grew tired and fell asleep beside the entrance while waiting.

Later, one of the palace knights found her and carried her back to her room.

The next morning, the entire kingdom celebrated something Wraith didn't understand.

Wraith (to herself): "Where is Mom?"

She entered Aurora's room and saw her sitting silently, tears falling down her face.

Wraith (confused): "Mom... why are you crying?"

Aurora didn't answer.

But her tears never stopped and even the room itself felt colder than usual.

Wraith: "Where is my little sister? Mom, tell me."

Aurora (crying softly): "She's sleeping in her room, Wraith... go play outside."

Wraith: "Okay..."

She left quietly, still confused why her mother looked so broken.

Only later did she realize the celebration was for her sister's birth.

But she don't know that It's a celebration for preserving the pure bloodline.

Back inside the prison, Wraith slowly lifted her head.

Wraith (present time): "If the second one was... a boy... then you would've killed me instead... right?"

Sifen stayed silent.

He didn't want to answer.

But Wraith already understood the truth.

Wraith (low): "Tell me."

(A long pause...)

Wraith (shouting): "TELL ME!"

Only the cold wind answered her but not a single word came from Sifen.

The memory continued.

Two years later, the queen had been consumed by sickness and depression.

Wraith sat beside Aurora's bed, holding her weak body gently while silence filled the room.

Wraith: "You'll be fine, Mom."

But Aurora never answered her now.

She barely ate.

Barely spoke to anyone.

She simply stared toward the horizon like her soul had already left long ago.

Meanwhile, Wraith kept glancing toward the door waiting again.

Wraith (present time): "I wasn't waiting for you..."

(Her voice trembled saying that.)

Wraith: "I was waiting for her to leave."

Sifen (cold): "It wasn't my fault."

Wraith (bitter laugh): "No... it was my fault for believing you."

Sifen: "You lied to me. You said you would hunt humans... and instead you chose to live beside them."

Wraith: "You left me no choice."

Sifen exhaled heavily before extending one clawed hand toward her.

Sifen (offering): "Join me, Wraith. Rule beside me. Become the queen of this realm. No more weakness. No more chains of morality."

Wraith: "This realm was built from your weakness."

(She stared directly into his eyes.)

Wraith: "You are mentally weak."

Sifen's expression shifted from cold control into pure rage.

With one swing of his axe, an ice cage erupted around her while frozen chains tightened across her body.

Sifen (voice echoing): "Then rot here until the day you beg to kneel at my feet."

He turned away and walked back toward his throne as frost spread across the floor beneath him.

His kingdom.

His rules.

His cruelty.

Later, Strom finally arrived.

He broke straight into the main prison dungeon.

The doors exploded open as Strom, clad in blue dragon-engraved armor and wielding his spear, stepped inside.

Guard: "Who are you?! This area is restricted!"

Strom: "Step aside. This isn't your business."

He shoved past the guards and walked directly toward Wraith's prison chamber.

Before he could reach the door, the commander stepped forward and drew his sword.

Commander: "Take them both down!"

Strom: "Don't you dare touch my bitch."

(Wraith blinked.)

Wraith: "Excuse me?!"

Before anyone could react, Strom dashed forward, spinning his spear in a controlled blur.

Within seconds, every guard was lying on the floor groaning in pain.

Strom shattered Wraith's chains with one powerful strike.

Strom: "You good?"

Wraith stood slowly, rubbed her wrists...

Then kicked Strom directly in the balls.

Wraith: "Bitch, huh?"

Strom collapsed instantly.

Strom (weakly): "I... need stronger armor..."

For the first time in a long while...

Wraith laughed again.

Chapter 3: Frost & Rage

Strom and Wraith ran through the frozen halls while shattered ice cracked beneath their feet.

But Strom had no idea where the exit was.

Then suddenly—

A massive battle axe slammed into the ground before them, blocking their path completely.

Sifen stepped forward slowly, his eyes glowing with freezing hatred.

Wraith (low voice): "Strom... run."

But he didn't.

He stayed beside her.

Sifen (cold): "Leave my daughter."

Strom: "No."

His fingers wrapped tightly around Wraith's hand.

Strom: "You better to stay away from my love."

For the first time, Sifen's breathing stopped slightly.

In that moment, he realized the truth that he had already lost his daughter completely.

Sifen (furious): "Then die with her."

The Duel Begins

Sifen stood towering even in his normal form. He swung the massive axe effortlessly, the air itself freezing from the speed of the attack.

Strom charged first, spear spinning toward Sifen's neck.

SPARKS exploded as the legendary weapons collided.

The impact shook the pillars around them as spear blade met axe shaft.

This wasn't ordinary metal.

It was something ancient.

Something legendary.

Strom finally spotted an opening and swung his spear hard into Sifen's shoulder, shattering part of his armor plate.

Sifen: "Quick... but too light."

Strom: "We'll see about that."

The fight became faster.

Steel echoed like war drums throughout the frozen hall. Every time Strom thrust forward, frozen spikes erupted from the floor beneath him, forcing him to dodge constantly.

Attacking became rare.

But Strom never wasted the chance.

Sifen slammed his axe down, releasing a pulse of blue energy that vaporized several incoming ice shards instantly.

Strom: "That all you got, frosty ass?"

Sifen: "You mock me in my own hall... brave, but foolish."

Strom planted his spear into the ground, leaped onto the wall, kicked off it, and delivered a sweeping strike across Sifen's helmet, cracking it slightly.

Sifen staggered for a moment...

Then laughed.

Sifen: "Impressive... for a half-blood warrior hiding behind dragons."

Strom: "Better to be half than heartless. How can someone imprison his own daughter?"

Sifen: "Weakness. They were weakness. My second spawn was cursed, a seed of my death... I simply corrected fate."

Strom's eyes widened.

He didn't fully understand their past, but the words "corrected fate" felt deeply wrong.

Strom: "Corrected fate?!"

He lunged forward again, attacking with everything he had, forcing Sifen onto defense for the first time.

Sparks rained through the hall as spear and axe clashed in a violent blur.

Sifen roared as frost exploded from his armor. The temperature dropped so violently that even the frozen ground began cracking apart.

With one monstrous swing, Sifen shattered Strom's chestplate and sent him sliding across the ice floor.

Sifen: "You think you can judge me? You are nothing but an insect."

The ground trembled as Sifen slammed his axe downward again, summoning massive ice crystals that erupted in every direction.

Strom barely dodged, blood running from the corner of his mouth.

Strom (panting): "This guy needs to... chill."

Sifen slammed both fists into the ground, releasing his full aura.

His body began growing larger.

Bones cracked.

Armor reformed.

Within seconds, he transformed into a towering frost giant while his axe enlarged alongside him.

Strom: "Oh, come on... fuck off."

He stumbled backward, gripping his spear tightly.

Then shouted upward in pure annoyance:

Strom: "MOM! THIS GUY IS CRAZY!"

A flash of blue fire suddenly tore through the ceiling.

Dravyss descended from above, wings unfurling as her massive shadow swallowed the battlefield whole.

Dravyss: "Move aside, child. This one has sinned too deeply."

Sifen laughed loudly.

Sifen: "Another lizard thinking it can burn ice."

Dravyss's eyes narrowed as molten blue light glowed across her claws.

Dravyss: "You called me what...?"

Only a single flamethrower needed and everything melted around her, the heat rise too much that Wraith faint away but Strom cover her...

The real battle just Begin.

Chapter 5: Revenge

Two Titans Collide

Sifen roared as frost exploded from his body, his form growing larger until he towered like a mountain of ice. His double-bladed axe radiated pure cold, freezing the ground wherever it touched.

Dravyss stepped forward slowly, flames rippling across her scales like a living inferno.

Sifen: "You think fire scares me, dragon? I am the king of endless winter!"

Dravyss: "You are nothing but a coward hiding in frost."

Sifen swung his massive axe, releasing waves of frozen spikes. Dravyss blocked with one wing, her flames melting the ice instantly.

The shockwave from their clash cracked the palace walls and shook the entire throne room.

Near the throne, Wraith slowly opened her eyes again, breathing heavily.

Wraith (confused): "Did we both die?"

Strom: "Nah. Just asked for a timeout."

THUDDDD!!!

They turned instantly.

Dravyss' claws had torn through Sifen's shoulder, melted ice and glowing blue blood pouring from the wound.

Sifen roared and swung his axe again, but Dravyss caught the weapon before biting directly into his arm hard enough to shatter the bones inside it.

Wraith (screaming): "THIS IS FOR MY MOTHER... FROM MY MOM!"

Dravyss heard her.

Her flames surged hotter.

And even brighter.

So intense that even Sifen's frozen body began melting beneath the heat.

This time, Dravyss began growing larger.

Her body expanded while her wings spread wider and wider until she completely eclipsed Sifen himself.

For the first time—

Sifen stepped backward.

Sifen: "Impossible... this much heat... should not exist here!"

Dravyss: "Look where you stand now."

With one devastating swipe, she shattered Sifen's remaining shoulder armor and slowed his regeneration completely.

The temperature inside the palace flipped violently from freezing cold into unbearable heat.

Sifen, now half-melted, collapsed near his throne.

For the first time in his life...

He looked powerless even with endless powers.

Then his eyes caught Wraith standing nearby while Strom held her up carefully.

Sifen (low, almost breaking): "I should have ended you when I had the chance..."

Wraith broke completely hearing that.

Wraith (crying loudly): "THEN WHY DIDN'T YOU?! Why ruin my life?! It would've been better if you killed me instead of her!"

Her scream echoed through the frozen palace.

Dravyss unleashed her full wrath.

Her flames turned pure azure.

Heat warped the air itself while the mountains outside trembled from the pressure.

Sifen staggered as the last pieces of his armor shattered apart.

Dravyss: "Your time has come, Sifen... no more crown."

Then came the final roar.

A massive stream of dragonfire swallowed Sifen completely, melting through his frozen armor and slamming him into the palace floor.

And when the flames finally disappeared...

Nothing remained.

Silence filled the ruined throne room.

Dravyss slowly returned to her normal size before turning toward Wraith.

Strom still stood beside her, gently holding her hand.

Wraith stepped forward carefully and placed one trembling hand against Dravyss' warm scales.

Then Dravyss wrapped her neck around Wraith protectively, shielding her from the world itself.

Dravyss (softly): "My... daughter."

Wraith's eyes filled with tears, but for once...

They weren't tears of sadness.

Because her endless waiting had finally come to an end.

Chapter 6: Returning Home

The Silence After the Storm

The palace that once echoed with Sifen's icy authority now sat in silence, half-melted walls dripping water into steaming pools.

Frost statues cracked beneath the lingering heat of Dravyss' flames.

Wraith stood over her father's lifeless body, his frost armor shattered and weapon broken. For a moment, she simply stared.

Her fists trembled.

Her breathing shook.

Her eyes were red and wet.

Strom stepped closer quietly.

Strom: "You okay?"

Wraith didn't answer. She slowly turned away, and Strom and Dravyss followed behind her.

She walked toward the same massive gate where she had once waited as a child. The moment her hands touched the frozen doors, tears began falling again.

The gates slowly opened.

Inside, preserved within enchanted ice, rested a small crystal coffin holding the body of a newborn child.

Her sister.

Strom and Dravyss stayed behind silently as Wraith stepped closer. For the first time in her life, she finally saw her sister's face.

But those eyes would never see her back.

Wraith (whispering): "Hey, little one... I know you're not here to listen but... I made him pay."

Her fingers brushed gently across the frozen crystal as tears dripped onto the icy floor.

No one spoke.

There was nothing anyone could say.

Wraith had finally said goodbye.

After a long silence, she wiped her eyes.

Wraith: "Follow me... I know the exit."

They both nodded, but Strom remained behind for a moment after they left.

Slowly, he pulled the blue ice lily from his pocket.

The same flower he once planned to give Wraith.

He placed it carefully beside the small coffin, his hands trembling slightly.

Then he finally spoke.

Strom (low voice): "Don't worry, little one... I'll take care of her. I promise."

The Flight Home

Hours later, the trio finally flew out of Sifen's kingdom.

The wind was still cold, but for the first time in years, Wraith's heart felt lighter.

Trying to break the heavy silence, Strom scratched the back of his head.

Strom: "Well... if he didn't turn into a giant, I would've beaten him. Right?"

Wraith: "Not even in your dreams, idiot."

Dravyss laughed deeply, her voice echoing through the frozen canyon.

Dravyss: "Next time I'll just sit in the corner and watch you fight."

Wraith: "Yeah, try surviving without screaming 'Mom help me!' first."

Strom looked away immediately.

Strom: "...Are we ever letting that go?"

Wraith (smirking): "Nope."

As they descended toward home, the setting sun painted the snowy mountains orange and gold.

Wraith looked back one last time at her father's fallen kingdom.

Her voice was soft.

Wraith: "Rest now, Father... you have many questions to answer in hell."

Back Home

By the time Strom and Wraith returned to the village, Dravyss had already returned to her pendant form.

Sam stood near the gate with crossed arms, staring at them in shock.

Sam: "What the hell happened to you two?!"

Strom (sighing): "Long story short... don't piss off anyone's father."

Wraith: "Especially mine."

Sam: "Did you two fight an army or something?!"

Wraith: "Nope. Just one big problem."

Sam: "What problem?"

Strom & Wraith together: "Family problems."

For the first time since the nightmare began, they laughed together.

Not because everything was okay.

But because they survived it.

Campfire Disaster

Later that night, the three sat around a small campfire while Sam cooked badly burned bread over the flames.

Sam: "So... you two actually made it out alive. What's the secret?"

Strom: "Simple. If your girlfriend has a terrifying father... run away. 10/10 strategy."

Wraith (asking): "Then why did you come for me?"

Strom: "That strategy works for normal people. I'm built different."

Wraith grinned wickedly.

Wraith: "Want to know what really happened? He called me his bitch in front of a dozen guards."

Sam nearly choked on his drink.

Sam: "WAIT... WHAT?!"

Strom instantly covered his face with half bread.

Strom: "It was the heat of the moment, okay?!"

Wraith (smirking): "And then I kicked him right there."

Sam burst into uncontrollable laughter.

Sam: "No way... that's legendary!"

Strom (lying dramatically on the ground): "I'm never escaping this, am I?"

Wraith: "Nope."

Sam: "From now on, your name is Sir Bitch Knight."

Strom: "I seriously need new friends..."
