Emilia had no one in the city; her family had died during a sea storm, and she was left with their house and enough funds to live modestly for her adult life.
"I'll go," she said as she looked up at Yaku as the cold air made their clothes dance.
He smiled, then uncontrollably hugged her in happiness.
"I won't let a scratch get on you, I promise," Yaku said as he was hugging her. He immediately realised and backed off, and started apologizing.
"No need to apologize, it's ok, I'll make sure to heal all the scratches you get trying to prevent the scratches that will befall upon me,: She said playfully
"I think we should start preparing to leave in 3 days if that's ok with you. I need to go thank teacher Sunder, and also say goodbye to Geo and Narbo," Yaku told Emilia as he looked in the direction of the academy.
"I also need to go pack the important stuff from my house i'll meet you after you return from the academy i guess," Emilia told Yaku with a warm smile.
Afterwards, Emilia started walking alone towards her home. She was thinking about her crazy decision and maybe even regretting how fast she said yes, she hasn't known Yaku for long even tho he saved her life many times already.
"What we've been through feels like a lifetime, but I really haven't known him for that long, and I have nothing left here. I want to see the world, I don't want to stay caged up in this city. Ugh mom…I'm doing something you would've never let me do" Emilia pondered to herself as she walked towards her home.
"You should go," a voice said to her from behind.
Emilia got startled and turned around. It was Imber
"I didn't even sense he was there…his mana suppression is unmatched," Emilia thought to herself
"Sorry for sneaking up on you, don't you miss old man Bone. We gave away so many loaves of bread together." Imber told her in a teasing manner
"Sorry, I've already mourned the death of Bone, you're clearly not him, please don't mention that to me ever again," Emilia said in a sad but angry tone as she turned around again trying to walk away from the conversation.
"It seems that I've really upset you Emilia, I'll leave it at that for now. We'll meet again in the future, maybe then you'll share a cup of tea with me like the old days," Imber thought to himself as he watched her walk away.
Once Emilie was out of his sight, she leaned her back on a wall and slid down to the ground, she grabbed her skirt tightly and her tears started falling on top of her hand.
It seems like she hasn't gotten over the death and seemingly the knowledge that he's just a different person now. She whimpered quietly for some time, then gathered herself and continued heading to her home.
Meanwhile Yaku was at the academy saying his goodbyes to Geo, Narbo and Sunder,
Sparring matches were being held with Sunder overseeing them as Yaku arrived.
He stood next to Sunder "Sorry we never got to finish our spar" Yaku told him.
Sunder smiled and answered Yaku without looking at him, since he was focusing on the slar happening.
"Alot has happened since our fight, it seems, sorry for not helping against Doth. It was simply forbidden for me to help. Imber would have probably executed me due to some technicalities, well that's what i think at least"
Yaku was surprised to hear that "I doubt Imber would have done that, but im glad it all worked out. So are you saying there is no chance of you winning against him?" Yaku asked
"No, not a single chance i would've even landed a hit" Sunder answered
"Are there many people like him in this world?" Yaku asked
"The more you head north, the more nothing makes sense. If you want to grow, I suggest you head towards the grand archives. It's a 1 year journey from here, Imber studied there if that's of interest to you" Sunder answered Yaku
The new information gave Yaku a new goal of seeing the grand Archives for himself, He thanked Sunder for everything and bid him farewell.
Afterwards he met up with Narbo and Geo, telling them his new plans of heading towards the grand archives and how Emilia will be joining him. They both started teasing him and making him uncomfortable about the type of relationship he and Emilia had which made him red in the face and agitated.
"Realx realx we're just joking around, we can't join you if that's what you were gonna ask. Our graduation is next year but I have a feeling this won't be the last time we'll meet" Narbo said as his eyes lit up.
"Thank you, both of you. For everything you've done, for taking care of Emilia while I was at the outer circle and for helping me fight Doth. We almost died but maybe that would've been ok fighting alongside you both" Yaku said with determination in his eyes
"Don't get so emotional on us now, like Narbo said. We'll meet again in the future, I know it" Geo told Yaku.
After hugging them both goodbye, Yaku headed out of the Academy, his spirit stronger than ever. Determined to continue his journey to reach and fight a mighty pillar of power one day.
