Chapter 121 - "The Luxury Clubroom of Room 093"

__________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Calling it a "clubroom" was a bit misleading.

In reality, it was just a classroom that had been remodeled.

Not only was it way bigger than a typical activity room, but it also had all kinds of things that clearly didn't belong in a school clubroom.

Washer, fridge, air conditioner, TV—you name it.On top of that, there was a shower, a bathroom, and even a separate bedroom for naps.

"If the school had a gas hookup, we could've had a proper kitchen here too. As it is, we'll have to make do with an induction stove."

Yuki Suou said it with a little shrug.

"Honestly, this place could've been renovated even better, but we didn't have time. For now it'll have to wait.

Still, the workers are coming back this weekend. They'll knock down the wall to the next room, so we'll have even more space."

"At the very least, Room 093 has to live up to the 'luxury suite' label. It should feel like home—or better."

Just then, Megumi Kato tugged quietly on Rosen's sleeve, lowering her voice.

"Hey, Rosen… don't you think this Suou girl's family is kind of… ridiculously rich?

I mean, who goes this far for a school clubroom?"

Normally, a high school clubroom was nothing special. You begged the school for some abandoned storage room, swept out the dust, maybe pooled together for a few cheap decorations, and dragged in some desks and chairs. Done.

But what Suou had managed to get approved wasn't a clubroom—it was basically a five-star hotel suite. And she was even planning to expand it?

Rosen, however, didn't seem fazed.

"If she wants to throw money at it, that's her business."

It wasn't that he liked wastefulness—he just thought "being frugal" only applied when it was your own hard-earned cash.

After all, a single golf course used more water in a day than a normal family did in an entire year.

And besides, he'd already reincarnated into this world with literal tons of gold stashed away. Living like his old self would just feel… pointlessly stingy.

"Kato-san, if anything, I'd say this setup still falls short of what Lord Rosen really deserves."

Yuki smiled sweetly.

"But given what a school can realistically provide, this is the best we can do for now."

"...'Lord'? Wait, what do you mean by 'status'?" Megumi frowned, puzzled.

Before she could press further, voices echoed from outside the door.

"Is it here?""Feels like we've come to the wrong place..."

Ayanō Kimijima opened the door.

Standing there were Miko Yotsuya and Hana Yurukawa. The first carried a warm bento box in her hands.

"Oh—Lord Rosen's here too?""Heehee, good afternoon, God-sama!"

Hana beamed as energetic as ever.

But then the two quickly noticed Yuki Suou.

"Wait, Yuki? What are you doing here? I thought you went to a different school."

"I transferred here. If I want to serve Lord Rosen properly in the future, it only makes sense. My family fully supported the decision."

It was true. Just yesterday Yuki had mentioned it at home, and her father immediately threw money at the problem: bribed the principal overnight and hired a crew to remodel the room before morning.

"So this is what being rich is like, huh…"

Miko muttered, looking around at all the expensive furniture and appliances.

"Waaah! A fridge! And—oh my gosh—there's pudding and cake inside! Suou-san, c-can I… can I have one?!"

Hana's eyes sparkled like a little kid's.

"Of course. Those are actually for you, Hana."

"Really?! Yay! Suou-san, you're the best!"

Words out of her mouth, fork in her hand—within seconds Hana was happily devouring a slice of cake.

"Mmm, so good…" she sighed, cheeks glowing with pure bliss.

"You girls haven't eaten yet, right? Perfect. I already had a meal prepared and delivered. Ayano, could you set out the dishes?"

As Yuki gave instructions, Ayano laid out proper tableware and lifted the lids from the trays—revealing a spread of professional-quality cuisine.

"The ingredients aren't quite as rare as what Lord Rosen had yesterday, but the chefs are first-class."

Megumi could only stare.

Hotel-level dining in a school clubroom.Unbelievable.

For Hana, though, today was easily the happiest day of her life—second only to yesterday.

"There's also some vintage French wine. Anyone want a glass?"

"Uhh… we're minors. That's illegal, you know."

By the time the meal was over, everyone was slouched back in their chairs, stuffed and content.

At last, Megumi had a chance to ask what Rosen had called her here for.

He didn't beat around the bush.

He wanted to make a contract with her—turn her into one of his retainers.

"Huh?"

Megumi's expression said it all: I'm not the one being weird—you are.

Was he seriously chuuni?

But with Yuki Suou, an actual rich girl, backing him up, maybe… just maybe… this whole thing was fifty percent believable.

Rosen didn't explain further. Instead, the other girls demonstrated: summoning holy swords, projecting weapons straight out of fantasy novels—things no normal person could pull off.

Megumi finally realized what Rosen meant by "showing her the truth of the world."

What the hell was this? A light novel plot come to life?

And worse—she was joining halfway through, like some side heroine.

If Rosen was the protagonist, and all his retainers were girls… didn't that mean she was about to become part of his harem too?

Unreal.

Any normal high school girl would've said no on the spot. But for some reason, Megumi couldn't bring herself to refuse.

Obeying Rosen after becoming his retainer sounded a little restrictive, sure. But strangely, she didn't really mind.

"…Can I at least see a ghost first?"

After racking her brain, that was the only "condition" she could come up with.

If it turned out this was all a scam, if there were no ghosts at all—well, she could think it over again.

"I just hope you don't get too scared."

Rosen placed divine power over her eyes.

"Now then… time to witness a miracle!" Yuki chimed in dramatically.

But when Megumi looked outside the window… there was nothing.

"Huh?"

Yep. Ghosts and stuff like that… totally fake.

"..."
