Chapter 298 – Yusuke's Appearance
Looking at the Chibaku Tensei that had already been torn apart, Madara's face showed not the slightest hint of panic. On the contrary, he calmly extended both of his hands toward Sasuke and Naruto.
"Seven… eight Chibaku Tensei."
The moment those words left his mouth, the law itself responded.
The rocks that had been falling only moments ago suddenly reversed their motion, surging violently as they shot straight toward Naruto and Sasuke.
Because those stones had originally been ripped directly from the ground, their acceleration was terrifyingly fast. Madara, of course, understood the weaknesses of Chibaku Tensei better than anyone.
More importantly, Toneri was still there.
Judging purely by destructive power, the offensive capabilities of his Tenseigan even surpassed those of the Rinnegan. Though it lacked the bizarre variety of abilities the Rinnegan possessed, its raw attack power alone was enough to inspire fear.
Faced with the situation, Sasuke immediately summoned his Perfect Susanoo. At the same time, Naruto compressed his chakra, forming a massive spherical barrier around himself.
Seeing this, Toneri moved without hesitation and launched a counterattack. The Truth-Seeking Orbs shifted, transforming into their basic sword form. Even so, neither Toneri nor Naruto had fully mastered the use of the Truth-Seeking Orbs yet.
"One Sword Style, One Thousand and Eighty Wind Tribulations!"
Toneri swung his blade toward Madara. Madara merely raised his palm and casually brushed the air in front of him. The terrifying slash vanished in an instant, as if it had never existed.
Seeing that, Toneri moved again.
"Silver Wheel Reincarnation Explosion."
The Truth-Seeking Orbs linked together, forming a massive ring that spun at extreme speed. A horrifying repulsive force erupted outward, unleashing a storm far more violent than before as it rushed toward Madara. In response, Madara immediately activated the dōjutsu power of the Rinnegan.
"Super Shinra Tensei."
Even so, he could not completely withstand it. His body was pushed back more than fifty meters before he finally stabilized himself.
"It seems I should deal with you first," Madara said, his gaze locking onto Toneri.
"Limbo: Border Jail."
The shadows increased once more. This time, there were eight of them standing before everyone.
"This isn't over yet."
"Sage Art: Storm Release – Light Fang."
The shadows of Uchiha Madara began to act in unison. Nine beams of light shot out, eight of which were completely invisible to the naked eye.
Naturally, Toneri could still sense them. But with attacks coming so densely from all directions, dodging was nearly impossible.
Toneri immediately raised the sword formed from the Truth-Seeking Orbs to block. However, the extremely sharp beams sliced straight through the blade in his hand.
His body staggered slightly. He tilted himself to avoid the remaining attacks, then leapt backward. The Truth-Seeking Orbs in his hand transformed again, this time becoming two black rods that he fired straight toward Madara.
Madara's eyes widened.
In an instant, he swapped positions with one of his Limbo shadows. It was obvious that he had exchanged places with his invisible double.
Throughout it all, Toneri never let his guard down. The moment Madara's real body appeared, he reacted immediately.
"Limbo—"
Madara used the same trick again, attempting to rapidly close the distance.
Seeing this, Toneri's Tenseigan shone brilliantly once more. A colossal stone statue erupted from the ground. That statue was none other than Ōtsutsuki Hamura himself.
Madara stared at the giant before him and immediately shattered it using Truth-Seeking Orbs. Yet the destroyed statue regenerated in the blink of an eye.
"So the only way is to defeat the user of the technique," Madara realized instantly how troublesome that statue truly was.
Meanwhile, Toneri had already arrived in front of the massive stone sphere trapping Naruto and Sasuke. He used Golden Wheel Reincarnation Explosion to carve open a gap, and the two of them seized the chance to escape.
"His use of those eyes is becoming more and more refined," Sasuke said, frowning.
To be fair, Madara had awakened the Rinnegan at an advanced age, so at first he had not been very smooth when using both eyes simultaneously.
Besides, there was no way he could drag around a body that was seventy or eighty years old and still fight properly. Just imagining it felt absurd.
But after such a long battle, Madara's mastery over both eyes had steadily grown. More importantly, those eyes had been awakened through his own power, making their use feel far more natural to him.
On the other side of the battlefield, Hatake Yusuke slowly stretched his body and casually removed the blindfold covering his eyes.
"Ah… this is seriously boring," Yusuke said as he looked out over the battlefield.
Everyone was momentarily confused.
Just moments ago, all attention had been focused on the fierce battle unfolding ahead. Now, however, everyone's gaze was drawn back to Yusuke.
The reason was simple.
He was the only one who showed no tension at all. In fact, he looked conspicuously relaxed, while his own strength remained completely unfathomable.
"Do you want to go in and try?" Mito asked, looking at Yusuke.
Yusuke nodded lightly.
"Naruto and Sasuke already have a good grasp of their bodies after obtaining the power of the Six Paths. Toneri is doing a decent job controlling his strength too," Yusuke said bluntly.
He then clenched both fists. His figure vanished from everyone's sight and reappeared instantly in the very center of the enemy side.
"What? You're finally planning to step in?" Madara stared at Hatake Yusuke.
"I suddenly got interested," Yusuke replied casually.
Madara's expression hardened. He didn't like this brat's attitude at all.
"Sensei, why did you come over?" Toneri asked in confusion. Naruto and Sasuke wore the same expression.
"Kids, the warm-up is over. Now, your opponent is the handsome man standing right in front of you. Come on, attack him," Yusuke said.
"Damn it, don't embarrass me!" Tsunade said, her face full of helplessness.
If not for Mito holding her back, she would have exploded long ago. Hatake Sakumo stared at his son with disbelief. Everyone was left stunned by this shameless man.
"Sensei… are you okay?" Toneri asked as he exited Tenseigan Mode and looked at Yusuke.
"That's right, Uncle. Where's the enemy? I don't see anyone. Don't tell me Madara still has reinforcements?" Naruto asked innocently.
Hearing that, Yusuke's face darkened instantly. This kid was being way too relaxed.
"Fine. I'll let the four of you attack me together. Remember, don't hold back," Yusuke said.
"Don't joke around, Sensei," Toneri said.
"Ah, little Toneri, your sensei isn't joking at all," Yusuke replied with a sweet smile.
Everyone swallowed hard again. Just what was this man thinking?
"Attack now. Remember, if you don't use your true strength, there's a very real chance you'll die," Yusuke said calmly.
A terrifying, domineering aura burst out of him without any restraint. Black lightning flickered intermittently around his body, while dark clouds gathered in the sky above and slowly spread outward.
"This is terrifying… I feel like kneeling just from this pressure," Naruto said, his face full of shock.
"Naruto, Sasuke, we have to stop Sensei. Even if he probably won't hurt us, if we don't show power that satisfies him, who knows what crazy thing he'll do. He might even be worse than Uchiha Madara," Toneri said anxiously.
He understood Yusuke's way of doing things all too well. In battle, only Yusuke was allowed to hold back. He never permitted others to go easy on him.
"But…" Naruto hesitated.
He deeply respected this uncle of his. Moreover, after inheriting the Six Paths Sage Techniques, his power had grown tremendously.
He knew his uncle was strong, but with so many Six Paths–level fighters present, and with the strength he now possessed… wasn't he already on the same level as Yusuke?
"Naruto, don't underestimate that man," Sasuke said seriously.
Even though he had obtained the Yin Six Paths power and awakened the Rinnegan, he still didn't dare let his guard down. More than anything, he wanted to see just how far the strength of the man before them truly went—especially since the choice he would make in the future could bring about enormous changes to the entire ninja world.
