Chapter 350 - Hydra Strikes

The footage reached its final moments. In a desperate bid to return and save everyone, Stephen Strange attempted to use the Darkhold to find a way back. However, with no immediate solution in sight, he ultimately decided to use Astral Projection, just as Wanda had done.

Even Christine was furious, declaring, "All you Stranges are the same!"

Faced with such an accusation, Doctor Strange could only admit it: Yes, all of them were indeed the same—willing to stop at nothing to achieve their ultimate goal.

Even the Stephen Strange watching the footage fell into deep thought. What would he have done in that situation? He had to admit that he likely would have made the same choice.

As long as the goal could be achieved, no price was too high to pay.

As Doctor Strange began his incantation, a ritual circle formed, and he embarked on his Astral Projection.

The next moment, the crowd saw a hand burst from the ground. It belonged to a dead Doctor Strange—none other than the Braided Doctor Strange.

Only then did the audience realize that he had been buried, his corpse already beginning to decay. Yet, at this moment, he was being used as a medium for Astral Projection, appearing directly outside Chthon's tomb.

Because Doctor Strange was still in another universe, he couldn't return anytime soon.

At that moment, countless souls of the Hellish Dead flew out, circling Doctor Strange and screaming, "Stephen Strange, possessing the bodies of the dead is forbidden!"

"Stop your Astral Projection, or you will face eternal consequences!"

Just then, to everyone's surprise, Doctor Strange, faced with the biting attacks of the countless dead souls, came up with an unexpected solution. He actually used their power to form wings, taking flight toward the Temple.

The entire process was extremely dangerous yet thrilling, sending everyone's adrenaline surging.

"So you've Astral Projected too, you hypocrite!"

Seeing Doctor Strange, Wanda was furious. He had constantly condemned her for Astral Projecting, yet now he was doing it himself. He was a despicable hypocrite.

She launched an attack, but Doctor Strange blocked it with the souls of the Hellish Dead.

"If you want to kill me this time, you can't just kill *this* one!" Doctor Strange said in a low voice.

The two sorcerers engaged in a fierce battle. Soon, Wanda found herself besieged by countless Hellish Dead.

Seeing Wanda about to break free from their control, Doctor Strange had no choice but to utilize America's power. He faced the same predicament as the Braided Doctor Strange: he had to seize America's ability before Wanda did to prevent the worst-case scenario from unfolding.

Yet, at this critical moment, he made a completely different choice. This was the true revelation of why, among countless versions of Doctor Strange, he was the genuine protagonist. He was the culmination of every correct choice made across infinite timelines.

Therefore, he would always make the right decision, never the wrong one. Every wrong choice would branch off, creating a different Doctor Strange in a separate timeline. This was why he was always right—the true, destined protagonist.

So, even though America was willing to sacrifice herself, Doctor Strange refused to let her.

Under these circumstances, America opened a portal.

No one could stop Wanda in her fury.

"I'm no match for you," Strange declared, "so I'll give you what you want!"

Before anyone could react, she tore open a space portal. On the other side, it was none other than Wanda's home in Earth-838.

The two children, still young and innocent, witnessed Wanda's rampage through the portal, leaving them absolutely terrified.

Seeing her sons so frightened, Wanda exploded in fury. She glared at America and screamed, "What have you done?!"

She never imagined her children would see her so monstrous and terrifying.

Just then, another Wanda appeared—the true Wanda of Earth-838.

"I am their mother!"

Enraged, Wanda prepared to unleash her Chaos Magic and blast the Earth-838 Wanda away. The other Wanda's meager power was no match for her.

But as she saw her children refuse to accept her, Wanda's heart finally shattered. She gave up.

"I would never hurt you, never, I would never hurt anyone... I'm not a monster, I..." As she spoke, Wanda finally realized what she had become. Her fingertips were stained completely black—she had been corrupted by the dark arts for too long.

In the end, Wanda abandoned her pursuit, giving up everything.

Outside the screen, Wanda watched her counterpart on the Sacred Timeline weep uncontrollably. She had craved this moment for so long—all she wanted was to live with her two sons, even if it was all an illusion. She refused to let go.

But now, at this stage, she had become a monster to achieve it. Even her own sons looked at her with fear and refused to acknowledge her.

In truth, she had never had these children; they were merely the result of her magic.

A whirlwind of emotions surged through her.

In this moment, Wanda finally let go of her obsession. She knelt upon the altar, determined to destroy it completely and atone for her sins.

Meanwhile, America and the Sorcerer Supreme immediately departed through a space portal.

Only Wanda and Doctor Strange remained. They exchanged a glance, and Wanda said, "I opened the Darkhold. I must close it, so no one will ever be tempted by it again!"

Wanda intended to utterly destroy this place—to completely demolish Chthon's entire tomb.

The video ended there. The audience sat in stunned silence, their scalps tingling with a sense of dread.

This video had contained an overwhelming amount of information, especially crucial details about the Magic Side that they had never known before.

This was crucial for their understanding of the Magic Side.

"Obsession is truly a terrifying thing!" Natasha said. As a woman herself, she could understand why Wanda's obsession had driven her to such extremes. It was truly horrifying.

Wanda, however, remained silent. She found it impossible to comprehend why her future self would fall so madly in love with a robot. She just couldn't wrap her head around it.

A person's emotions and personality are forged from a lifetime of experiences and memories. Clearly, the current Wanda lacked the experiences and memories of being a mother.

She couldn't begin to understand why her future self would tear through the Multiverse, wreaking havoc and nearly killing her own counterpart in Earth-838, all for the sake of her two sons.

"I'm absolutely certain now," Tony Stark declared. "The Magic Side is incredibly dangerous—far more so than our Science Side. And that Doctor Strange is an even more dangerous individual. One wrong choice, and he could become a supervillain!"

The others couldn't help but nod in agreement.

After all, who could be more dangerous than those Secret Arts Mages from the Magic Side?

"But now I think I understand why those on the Sacred Timeline were able to become the protagonists," Diana said. "Faced with the same situation, two Doctor Stranges made completely opposite choices. Perhaps the difference between a superhero and a supervillain is just a single thought."

Everyone nodded.

This time, they had learned many secrets of the Magic Side, including the Darkhold and the Book of Vishanti. It was an eye-opening experience—to think they could even travel to other multiverses through Astral Projection.

"Should we establish a permanent agency to monitor individuals from other multiverses?" Bruce Banner asked. "I have a feeling we'll need it. Ever since Doctor Strange and Spider-Man opened up the entire Multiverse, visitors from different timelines will likely become a common occurrence, not just the few we know about now."

"Good point," Tony Stark nodded and immediately added, "I'll get back to developing the necessary equipment—something that can detect spatial fluctuations the moment they happen."

Everyone nodded in agreement. After waiting a moment longer and seeing that there were no further issues to discuss, they finally dispersed.

***

It was late autumn in 2013. Nick Fury, clad in his leather coat, was driving his large vehicle along the road when a truck suddenly lunged from the roadside, smashing into his car and sending it flying into the wall of a nearby building.

The sudden accident sent the surrounding crowd into a panic, with people fleeing in all directions.

But soon, several other vehicles swarmed in, trapping Nick Fury's car in a pincer attack and relentlessly ramming it.

The car's AI system continuously blared warnings in his ear.

Gunfire erupted from all sides.

From the attacking vehicles, special ops soldiers in full gear even emerged, leveling rocket launchers at him.

Amidst the chaos, Nick Fury struggled to steady his car as he pulled out his phone and made a call.

"Steve, it's time. Move in!"

Suddenly, a fresh burst of gunfire erupted. Another special ops team, their bodies faintly glowing red, launched a fierce assault on the attackers surrounding Nick Fury, wiping them out in moments.

Only then did Nick Fury finally crawl out from the wreckage of his mangled vehicle.

"Alexander Pierce!" Nick Fury stared fixedly at the sky. There was no doubt—Hydra had finally made their move.

But he had been prepared. He had foreseen this and had even deliberately put himself in danger to bait them into the open. Now that they had struck, he had every reason to retaliate.
