Chapter 34 - Chapter 34

Jack POV

"Why did he single me out of everyone?" I asked.

"Do you really want the answer to that?" Hope asked.

"…No."

"Good. Now we need to decide who's going and who's staying. We can't have everyone leave and have our world unprotected," Hope said.

"I'm already ahead of you. I'm going. I've always wanted to fight a Kryptonian," I said.

"Why? You are already the strongest in the world, probably in the universe, even for Kryptonian standards," Hope replied.

"Wait, you're Kryptonian too? How many Kryptonians do you guys even have?" Guy asked. "And who even are you?"

"Oh… right. I never introduced myself," I said. "Name's Warrior. I'm only half Kryptonian… and I'm probably the last one you'll ever see."

"Probably?" Batman repeated.

"Well, it's a big universe. And I might have kids one day," I shrugged. "Anyway, who else is coming with me to the other Earth?"

Silence.

Not a single person on my team volunteered.

"…Don't all speak at once," I said dryly.

"You can't blame them," Hope said. "But we do need people going, so I'm choosing for you."

The entire room groaned.

"I just got here," Flambae muttered.

"Relax, you'll be back," Hope said. "Jack's going to make sure you come back home."

"Yeah, don't worry," I added. "No one's getting left behind. And honestly… You might not even have to do much with me there."

"He's got a point," Rex said. "He is the strongest."

"Glad you agree. Tech, you're going," Hope said immediately.

"…Shit," he muttered under his breath.

"And Invincible, Blonde Blazer, Stormfront, and Track Stars."

"Oh hell," Track Stars said. "I knew I was about to get picked for this, I'm telling you now, I am NOT fighting any Kryptonian, Amazon, giant robot, whatever they've got over there. I'm old. I'm not fighting weird shit anymore."

"You look like you're in your twenties," Flash said.

"I'm 40."

"…Damn," Guy said. "How do you look that young?"

"Perks of your boss being a wizard."

Track Stars crossed his arms. "So who else is going to evil Earth?"

"My Earth is designated Earth-3," Lex Luthor added.

"Yeah, yeah, whatever," Track Stars waved him off.

After a few more minutes of arguing, debating, and Hope basically overriding everyone anyway, we finally had our lineup:

Superman, Wonder Woman, Guy Gardner, Martian Manhunter, Flash, and Captain Atom.

"Good," I said, grinning. "Now that we've got our team… let's go save Earth-3."

We all turned toward Lex.

He raised the multiverse gun, aimed, and with a flash of energy…

We were gone.

Kai POV

We appeared in the backyard of a house.

Ice looked around, unimpressed. "This is where the Champion of all magic lives? I was expecting… I don't know, something magical."

"Looks can be deceiving," I said, already walking toward the house. "Come on."

The back door was open. That alone was a red flag.

We stepped inside. The place was quiet, too quiet. No signs of life.

Then I saw it.

A door… but not really a door. It was open, and on the other side wasn't another room; it was something else entirely. A different space. A different dimension.

"What the hell?" Hawkgirl muttered.

"You'd better hurry," I said, already moving. "Before those kids get hurt."

"Kids?" Ice and Hawkgirl said at the same time.

I didn't answer. I just stepped through.

They followed.

The moment we crossed over, the air changed, heavy, wrong. We walked for a few minutes through the warped space until it opened up into a massive hall.

And that's when we saw it.

Shazam… surrounded.

The Seven Deadly Sins circled him, each one radiating pure malice. Off to the side stood a bald man holding a staff, calm, confident. Too confident.

And behind him…

A group of kids.

Armed with whatever they could grab, bats, sticks, random junk. Trying to look brave.

I sighed and stepped forward.

"You know," I said, loud enough to draw everyone's attention, "I've met a lot of stupid people in my life."

All eyes snapped to me.

"But I've never met someone dumb enough to release the Seven Deadly Sins and then work with them."

I tilted my head, looking straight at the bald man.

"You really think you're in control? That they won't turn on you the second they get what they want?" I let out a short laugh. " That's just stupidity."

A kid on crutches lit up. "Oh my gosh, that Mage King?!"

The man's expression darkened instantly.

"Kill them," he ordered.

Wrath, Gluttony, and Greed lunged at us.

Ice reacted first, firing a blast. It went straight through them.

No effect.

She barely had time to process before they were on her. I stepped in.

A burst of magic slammed into them mid-charge, sending all three crashing into the wall hard enough to shake the entire hall.

I glanced at Ice. "Remind me to teach you Magic."

"What?"

I smirked. "Maybe Ice Make Magic… or better yet, Ice Devil Slayer Magic."

Then I raised my hand.

The staff ripped itself out of the bald man's grip and shot straight into mine.

A little girl stared at me, eyes wide. "Whoa…"

I ignored it and started walking toward the bald man.

"Now, usually," I said calmly, "I'd just zap you and end this in a second. But…" I glanced back at Shazam, "…this is the Champion's fight. And technically, I'm not the Champion of this world."

I stopped a few feet away from him.

"So I'll let him handle you."

"What, no! Kick his ass!" Shazam shouted, panic creeping into his voice.

I smirked. "Now, now, Billy. Where's the fun in that?"

He froze. "How do you know my name?"

"I know a lot of things." I twirled the staff once. "Let's make this fair."

I raised the staff and slammed it into the ground.

The world shattered.

In an instant, everything around us warped and twisted, space folding in on itself, and then we were somewhere else.

A barren, endless dimension stretched in every direction. Floating rock formations drifted in the void, and the sky cracked with strange energy.

The Null Void.

At the same time, I blinked Shazam close to his family.

Dr. Sivana staggered, looking around wildly. "What have you done? What is this place?!"

"Well, Dr. Sivana," I said casually, "since you asked so nicely, this is the Null Void."

I spun the staff once in my hand.

" It is a prison. My sister made it."

Then I turned to Shazam and the kids.

Without hesitation, I tossed the staff to him.

He caught it easily.

"The champion is not complete without his family," I said. "Touch the staff… and say his name."

They hesitated.

Confused.

Then Billy's eyes widened as it clicked.

"No!" Sivana screamed.

The Seven Deadly Sins surged back into him, diving into his body through his eye. Power exploded outward as he shot forward.

I moved.

My hammer appeared in my hand, and I fired a blast straight into him mid-flight, launching him back across the void like a missile.

"Focus," I said.

Shazam planted the staff in front of his family.

"Okay, all hands on deck, grab the staff! and Say my name!"

They all grabbed on.

"Billy!" they shouted.

He winced. "No, no, not my actual name! The name I say when I transform!"

Realization hit them all at once.

"Shazam!"

Lightning split the sky.

A massive bolt crashed down, engulfing them in blinding light.

For a moment, everything disappeared in smoke and energy.

Then it cleared.

And standing where no longer a group of scared kids in their place, it was champions.

Just like Billy, they transformed, each wearing a version of the same suit, lightning bolt blazing across their chest, only the colors were different.

Freddy, blue, Mary, crimson, Pedro, gray, Darla, purple.

For a second, they all just stood there, taking it in.

Then Freddy slowly lifted off the ground.

"Guys… guys, I'M FLYING!" he shouted, pure excitement in his voice.

Dr. Sivana's face twisted with rage. "What have you done?! You've given godlike power to mere children!"

I glanced at him, unimpressed. "Yeah, well… I would rather let kids have that power than a sociopath."

I turned to the kids and gave them a small grin.

"So, Shazam family… You mind handling him for me?"

"Yeah! Let's do it!" Darla shouted, already bouncing on her feet.

Hawkgirl stepped closer to me, lowering her voice. "Are you sure this is a good idea? He still has the power of the Sins."

"Relax," I said.

I looked up.

A massive golden magic circle burned into the sky above us, runes spinning slowly, radiating power.

Hawkgirl followed my gaze.

Ice did too. "Whoa…"

Hermione stared at it in awe, completely captivated. Mary glanced up mid-step, clearly feeling it.

"Anything demonic under that circle?" I said calmly. "Heavily weakened."

I smirked. "They've got this."

WHAM

We turned back just as the fight fully broke out.

And the Shazam Family went to work.

Darla blurred across the battlefield, moving so fast she was practically a streak of purple lightning, weaving around Greed and landing rapid-fire punches that sent the Sin stumbling.

Pedro met Wrath head-on, no hesitation. Each punch echoed like thunder, raw strength vs raw rage.

Freddy stayed in the air, grinning as he danced around Pride's elongated claws, dodging every strike before countering with sharp, controlled hits.

"Too slow!" he laughed.

Eugene hung back, both hands glowing as he unleashed bolts of lightning that slammed into Gluttony, electricity crackling as the massive demon howled.

Mary…

Mary was different.

She took on Lust and Sloth at the same time, calm, focused, controlled. Every movement deliberate, every strike clean.

Even weakened, those were still Sins.

And she was holding her own.

I nodded slightly, impressed.

First fight against supernatural entities… and she wasn't backing down.

Then there was Billy.

He clashed with Dr. Sivana in the center of it all, their blows cracking through the air.

Envy was still inside him, the only reason he still had any real power left.

But that also meant he was being dragged down by my magic circle.

Every second, he was getting weaker.

Billy?

He was only getting more confident.

"Their fighting styles are pretty rough," Mary finally said, watching the battle with a critical eye. "Not surprising, they're kids. But… they've got potential."

"Yeah, I know," I said, arms crossed. "They've got a lot to learn."

A small smirk crossed my face.

"But I can fix that. I can teach them how to be proper champions."

Hawkgirl glanced at me, clearly piecing something together.

"Speaking of that… 'champions,'" she said. "They say 'Shazam', I heard that word before during the battle with Darkseid, you were saying that, not only that, your lightning looks similar to theirs, yours is just red."

She narrowed her eyes slightly.

"And earlier, you said you're not the Champion of this world. What does that mean? I thought your power came from your hammer… and your magic."

I hesitated for a moment before answering.

"It does," I said slowly. "But it's… similar to theirs."

That part, at least, wasn't a lie.

"I got my power from another world. It was passed down to me by the wizard there."

"The wizard just let you leave with that kind of power?" she asked. "Why?"

I exhaled lightly.

"Because that world was already gone," I said. "Nothing left to save. He gave me what remained of his power… and told me to use it somewhere it could actually make a difference."

Hawkgirl studied me for a second, then nodded slightly.

"So that's why you weren't surprised when we found out the Multiverse Theory isn't a theory anymore," she said. "You've already been to other worlds."

I gave a small shrug.

"A few times. Picked up some things… some people." I tapped my hammer lightly against my shoulder. "That's how I got this. Most of my team, too."

I looked at her, my expression turning a bit more serious.

"I'd appreciate it if you kept that to yourself. I'd rather not have everyone knowing I can move between worlds."

She didn't hesitate.

"Your secret's safe with me," she said. "I still owe you for saving me from Darkseid."

I nodded once. "Good."

Then I turned my attention back to the fight.

The battle raged for a few more minutes before I noticed it. Sivana was slowing down.

His movements were getting sloppy. His power wasn't hitting as hard.

He was tiring out.

Perfect.

"Billy!" I called out. "Time to end this! Grab the eye, the one holding the Sin's power, and rip it out!"

He didn't hesitate.

Not even for a second.

Billy shot forward, closing the distance in a blur. He grabbed Sivana by the throat, lifting him off the ground.

"Wait!" Sivana choked out.

Too late.

Billy's free hand went straight for the glowing eye, lightning crackling around his fingers as magic surged.

Sivana screamed as the eye was torn free.

The moment it left his body, everything changed.

The Seven Deadly Sins burst out of him, their forms unraveling into smoke as they were violently pulled into the eye. It pulsed, growing brighter… bigger… until it became a large, glowing sphere of condensed magic.

And just like that, the fight was over.

Silence fell over the battlefield.

My group started walking toward them as I casually raised my hand. The staff flew through the air and landed neatly in my grip.

Billy glanced at me, still catching his breath. "You couldn't have told me that earlier?!"

I smirked slightly. "Where's the fun in that?"

I stepped closer, looking at all of them.

"You needed the experience. Fighting supernatural threats isn't something you learn overnight." I crossed my arms. "But you all did good."

A small nod.

"You should be proud. You just took down a supervillain… and saved the world."

That did it.

Their exhaustion vanished, replaced with wide smiles as they started celebrating, talking over each other, laughing.

I let out a quiet chuckle.

They earned it.

"N-no…" a weak voice croaked.

We all turned.

Sivana.

His right eye was normal again, just a scar left behind. His body trembled, barely able to hold itself up.

He was finished.

I walked up to him, stopping just in front of where he knelt.

"Sorry, Doc," I said calmly. "But it's over."

I tilted my head slightly.

"For releasing the Sins… and almost throwing the world into chaos…"

A portal opened behind him.

" I sentence you to prison for a very long time."

I raised my hand.

Telekinesis wrapped around him, lifting him effortlessly. With a flick of my wrist, I tossed him through. On the other side, A sealed cell. Hope's prison. The portal snapped shut, and just like that… Dr. Sivana was gone.
