After a relaxed meal and light conversation, Red and Uncle Star prepared to continue their martial arts training that evening, following the schedule previously set by Uncle Star.
Uncle Star looked at Red and asked, "Hey kid, how was the food we prepared together? Was it good?"
Red smiled confidently. "Of course, without a doubt, Uncle Star's cooking is the most delicious in the world. It's number one, of course."
Uncle Star laughed. "Hahaha… you really know how to praise me, kid. After all, you helped prepare the meat we caught and hunted earlier, turning it into this delicious meal. So, are you ready to continue the martial arts training I told you about?"
Red nodded. "Of course, I still remember your words, Uncle. Tonight's training is advanced martial arts. But you told me to take a short break about an hour so I can try improving my inner hearing on my own and also let my body digest the food properly." He chuckled lightly. "Hahaha…"
Uncle Star nodded approvingly. "Alright, kid. Go ahead. Try adapting to your sharp hearing on your own. But be careful, and call me immediately if anything happens. Good luck."
Red smiled. "Okay, Uncle. Thank you for your guidance. I'll start practicing and adapting on my own."
Uncle Star smiled back. "Good luck, kid."
After informing Uncle Star, Red began his independent training.
In his mind, he focused deeply.
"Focus… focus… close your eyes… and listen carefully to everything around me," Red thought. "The plants, the animals, the wind everything in Uncle Star's surroundings."
He continued softly to himself, "Focus… focus… breathe in slowly… feel it… and exhale slowly… sense the energy of nature around me."
As he entered a meditative state, the atmosphere around Uncle Star's yard felt different. A cool and gentle breeze flowed, sometimes sharp like a sudden chill. Red began to hear faint but distinct natural sound animals moving, insects crawling, even the smallest life forms like worms, ants, and tiny insects.
For about an hour, Red repeated this process consistently, deepening his self-taught meditation and sharpening his inner sense of hearing.
