The Cloud Jonin who had already run out suddenly stopped in his tracks, then a look of terror appeared on his face, and the long blade he held began to swing wildly in all directions.
During this time, he kept shouting.
"Go, capturing a Cloud Jonin alive should yield some interesting intelligence."
After Ren finished speaking, he disappeared from his spot, and the Konoha Jonin wasted no time, activating Instantaneous Body Technique to follow closely behind.
As the two rushed closer to him, he suddenly seemed to realize something, his expression changed, and the long blade in his hand sharply slashed towards his arm.
The blade light flashed, and a line of blood spurted out, but his eyes regained clarity.
"Tsk, too late."
Ren had already formed the hand seals at this point, and the two Shuriken he held in his hands were instantly covered with a layer of lightning.
After one breath, before the Cloud Jonin could even turn around, two Shuriken with electric arcs tore through the air, directly piercing into the latter's abdomen and injured left arm.
"Ah!!"
After the Shuriken hit, they began to release electricity to the surroundings; the self-inflicted wound combined with the electric stimulation, this pain nearly made the Cloud Jonin faint.
After enduring the pain to pull out the Shuriken from his abdomen, the Cloud Jonin was about to escape the scene despite the pain, but unexpectedly, a figure suddenly appeared behind him.
"Just stay here obediently."
Hearing the voice from behind, the Cloud Jonin was about to turn his head when he felt a pain in the back of his neck, then his vision went black, and he lost consciousness.
"Phew, capturing someone alive is really troublesome."
Ren looked at the Cloud Jonin lying motionless on the ground.
After scratching his head, he squatted down and pulled out the Shuriken still stuck in his left arm.
"Excuse me…"
Just then, the Konoha Jonin walked over, looking at Ren with a hesitant expression.
"I understand."
Ren wiped the blood from the two Shuriken on the Cloud Jonin's clothes before putting them away, then turned to look at the other party.
"I am KonohaSpecial JoninHoshimi Ren, passing through here on a mission, so encountering you all was purely coincidental."
"Hmm? Hoshimi Ren…"
After a moment of stunned silence, the other party's eyes suddenly lit up, revealing a look of understanding.
"So it's you, thank you for your help this time."
This Jonin said very politely.
After all, Ren had indeed helped them a great deal this time; the strength of their two small teams was actually evenly matched.
Without Ren's help, they might have won, but it would definitely have been a tragic victory with casualties.
But because of Ren, not only did they suffer zero casualties this time, but they also captured a Kumogakure small team alive.
Furthermore, due to Ren's activity on the battlefield and impressive combat record over the past six months, he was well-known to most Konoha Ninja.
It was a case of his reputation preceding him.
And frankly, this Jonin's strength was only at the level of an ordinary Jonin; if he were to fight the current Ren, it would only be a matter of a dozen or so rounds.
"You're welcome, by the way, you should be heading back to the Konoha Camp, right? Take me with you, I have intelligence to deliver to Orochimaru-sama."
Ren looked at the other party and said with a smile.
Since he was already lost and ended up here, he might as well go see how Orochimaru had been doing lately.
He missed him quite a bit, it had been a long time.
And while he was at it, he could see if Orochimaru had researched any interesting new Jutsu recently, then freeload some knowledge.
"Is that so? Alright, then let's return to the Konoha Camp now."
Hearing that Ren's mission was about intelligence, the Jonin immediately straightened his face and turned to speak to the few Genin behind him.
"Bring those two captives, we need to return to the Konoha Camp immediately."
"Yes!"
Seeing their captain's serious expression, the three didn't dare to ask more questions.
They carried the two already-bound Genin on their backs and walked over.
"Then let's go."
The Jonin turned around and said softly to Ren.
"Okay!"
Ren nodded, then hoisted the Cloud Jonin onto his shoulder and leaped onto a tree branch.
Are you kidding? A Cloud Jonin could be exchanged for a lot of merit points; those two Genin could be given away, but this Jonin must not be given up.
The few Genin, however, were somewhat surprised; they couldn't figure out why their captain, a dignified Jonin, was so polite to someone who seemed to be around their own age.
Of course, Ren wouldn't explain it to them; he just wanted to reach his destination quickly and then report his safety to Minato Namikaze.
Upon returning to the Konoha Camp, as expected, Ren was immediately detained.
"This person has no identification, he cannot enter the Konoha Camp."
After the KonohaNinja guarding the gate finished speaking, the expressions of several other Ninja standing guard around them instantly changed, and they immediately surrounded Ren, their weapons tightly gripped, ready to attack at any moment.
The situation here also attracted a lot of attention at the gate; except for those on missions, everyone else intentionally or unintentionally slowed their steps, observing every move here.
"Uh, is the security this strict here?"
Ren was startled; he was about to put down the unconscious Cloud Jonin on his back and take out his identification from his person, but he didn't expect this to immediately trigger the vigilance of the gate guards.
"Don't move!"
Looking at the few people who were ready to attack at any moment, Ren's face immediately darkened.
Damn it, should I move or not?
"You guys go ahead first, please help me inform Orochimaru-sama that I'm here to deliver intelligence, thank you."
Ren turned to look at the Konoha small team beside him and said softly.
"Okay!"
The Jonin wasted no words; after entering the Konoha Camp, he hurried towards Orochimaru's command tent.
Because he knew that he, as a Jonin, could not verify Ren's identity; he could only report to the Konoha Camp commander to resolve the issue.
"Don't worry, I won't move."
Ren looked at the people guarding him with some helplessness.
Every Konoha Camp had its own personal identification, and Ren couldn't produce the identification for this Konoha Camp.
Just as the two sides were in a stalemate, a figure appeared within the Konoha Camp, walking quickly towards the Konoha Camp entrance.
"It's Uchiha Fugaku-sama, quickly clear the way!"
"Uchiha Fugaku-sama!"
Hearing the commotion from not far away, Ren immediately turned his head to look in that direction, and his gaze met a pair of authoritative eyes.
This, however, brought a look of joy to Ren's face.
"What's going on?"
Uchiha Fugaku arrived closer, looking at Ren, who was surrounded at the gate, and asked in a deep voice.
"Uchiha Fugaku-sama, this person has no identification, and we are preparing to apprehend him."
A Chunin who had earlier detained Ren came beside Uchiha Fugaku and said respectfully.
"He is here to deliver intelligence; his identity has already been verified with the Village, there's no problem.
You can all disperse."
"Uh…"
The few people exchanged glances for a moment before dispersing; after all, if even the deputy commander said so, then there was definitely no problem, and even if something went wrong later, it would have nothing to do with them.
