Lana coughed softly, attracting both Rick and the maid's attention.
Rick quickly wiped away the tears from his eyes and turned toward Lana.
"Whoever you are, please leave. I am not interested in speaking with anyone right now."
He stopped midway through his sentence. His eyes widened as he stared at Lana's face. "I see... It's you."
Lana smiled. "It is nice to see that you took my advice."
Rick was completely stunned. "You are that angel who rescued me."
Lana chuckled softly.
"I'm not an angel. I'm just a normal human being. Anyway, I heard about your daughter's condition. I thought we only needed to look after her and help her recover."
Rick slowly came back to his senses, and a bitter smile appeared on his face.
"There is no use. She will never recover, and I don't want to keep forcing her to go through this."
He turned toward the head maid.
"Please lead Miss Lana away from this mess. I'm leaving first."
The head maid remained silent as she watched Rick walk away.
