Mr. Crow sighed heavily. His expression darkened as the memory of what Lana had seen flashed through his mind. 'This was exactly what Lana had witnessed.'
He then looked at the thin crow and asked, "If that is the case, then why didn't you think about going to them and telling them everything?"
The thin crow looked at Mr. Crow as though he had just asked the most foolish question imaginable.
"Did you forget what we were told when we were given the chance to reincarnate?"
Mr. Crow immediately fell silent.
The thin crow continued,
"When we are granted special merit, or when we have accumulated enough merit in our previous life, we are sometimes allowed to retain our memories of that life. However, that is where our freedom ends. We can use those memories to become very close to someone and unconsciously provide them with information, or we can simply live far away from the human world and all its politics."
