He pushed against the invisible barrier with all his strength, but the prison refused to let him through. No matter how much force he used, the barrier remained completely unmoved.
Then he heard a scream from inside. It definitely did not belong to Lana.
Yet his heart became increasingly anxious.
An inexplicable sense of dread settled heavily in his chest, as though something was about to take Lana away from him forever.
Lucian stepped closer to the entrance and shouted, "Lana! Lana, are you in there? Don't worry. I'm here. I will protect you!"
Inside the prison, Lana heard his voice. She tilted her head slightly toward the door.
A faint smile appeared on her lips. "What a loyal boyfriend. Too bad he appeared at the wrong time."
She casually flicked her finger.
The next second, Lucian, who had been standing at the entrance, was violently thrown backward.
His body flew through the air and slammed into the wall. He coughed up blood before slowly getting back on his feet.
