Chapter 81 - 81. Beastiality

Elsewhere, the beast-transformed Jenny's fighting power also skyrocketed!

At first, Duke was confident he'd challenge her in a one-on-one duel.

As the fight progressed, the situation became increasingly dreadful.

Pamela couldn't stand it any longer.

She gestured to Andy, urging him to take down the beast-transformed Jenny.

Andy was worried about not having a chance to show off in front of the young lady.

He immediately activated his second-stage atavism, transforming into a large fire elemental.

"White-haired brat, get out of the way! Don't get in my way!"

Duke heard an arrogant shout from behind him.

He turned back in anger, his expression suddenly changing.

Behind him stood a fiery red giant, nearly four meters tall.

To be more precise, it was a ball of golden-red flames, shaped vaguely like a human.

The skin was replaced by trembling flames. His facial features were merely blurry black patches.

A suffocating heat emanated from his entire body!

Duke had awakened the bloodline of the White Dragon, a cold-type subspecies.

He wasn't afraid of the cold, but he was terrified of the heat!

Fire-type attacks would inflict additional damage on him.

Duke had no choice but to swallow his anger and duck aside.

Andy's fire elemental form looked tall and imposing, seemingly unwieldy.

In reality, this was just an illusion.

In fire elemental form, his flesh and blood transformed into blazing flames, essentially burning gas with an extremely low density.

A giant made of flame weighed as light as a feather.

This meant that Andy's fire elemental form was far more nimble and agile than his flesh and blood form!

This precisely countered the speed advantage of Beast Jenny.

One was a ghostly beast-like rat-man.

The other was a swift and fierce fire giant.

The battle was brief but intense.

When Allen and Angel arrived at the scene with Locke, who had returned to his original form,

The beast-like Jenny had already been beaten by Andy and lay on the ground, smoking.

Alan casually used a "water control spell" to extinguish the flames on Jenny's body, preventing the burns from worsening.

Jenny was a water elementalist.

Soaking in water, her wounds slowly healed.

At the same time, her beast-like features gradually faded.

Andy undoes his atavism and returns to human form.

His clothes were reduced to ash by the flames.

He picked up the storage bag he had placed on the ground earlier, took out some spare clothes, and put them on.

He even glared at Allen, intentionally or not.

His eyes held an undisguised threat.

Alan frowned secretly.

It seemed Andy hadn't given up on tracking down the evil statue, nor had he given up his suspicions of him.

At this rate, a fight would sooner or later befall them.

Andy was merely a hidden danger.

The most urgent task was to resolve Locke and Jenny's problems.

Locke and Jenny had suffered greatly while imprisoned by the Beast Cult, contracting both the plague and lycanthropy.

The plague was curable, but lycanthropy was a real nuisance.

"I can try to treat lycanthropy," Alan said, breaking the silence.

"You can also heal?"

Pamela gave him a surprised look.

"My mentor, Ms. Sola, is a naturalist and a master of potions. She taught me a great deal about potions."

Alan felt it necessary to share his expertise in potions.

This way, the team would rely on him more.

Pamela would also rediscover her own value.

If Andy tried to cause trouble for him, considering how useful he was, Pamela would surely intervene.

This is called the value of unity.

"Alan, how do you plan to treat him?" Angel asked.

"I need to prepare two potions. The other herbs are easy, but now I'm short of belladonna, which I hope to find on the island."

"That's right!" Angel nodded happily. "I read in a book that belladonna tincture has a certain chance of curing lycanthropy."

"However, it must be taken after the first attack and before the next full moon."

"So, we still have a month to search for herbs, which is plenty of time."

People often mocked Angel for being a nerd, but they had to admit that he was very knowledgeable.

He approved of Allen's treatment, so Pamela and the others stopped questioning it.

"Junior Brother Allen... after taking the medicine, can you still retain your lycanthropy?" Locke suddenly asked.

Alan shook his head. "Brother Locke, the virus and the beast transformation are two sides of the same coin."

"It's impossible to eliminate the virus and retain the beast transformation."

"Yes, there's no such thing as having the best of both worlds..."

Locke sighed.

"Don't worry, I'll do my best to treat you. Get some rest."

After a few words of comfort, Alan turned and left.

Returning to his room.

Alan closed the doors and windows.

Checked that no one was peeping.

Sitting at the table, he took out the first aid kit from his storage bag.

Drawing blood with a syringe.

In fact, the ancient recipe for treating beast transformation with belladonna tincture wasn't all that reliable.

The cure rate was typically only around 50%.

There was another problem.

The atropine needed to make the tincture was itself highly toxic! If bad luck turns out that the lycanthropy fails to cure the patient and instead poisons the patient, that wouldn't be surprising.

Alan was merely using the belladonna tincture as a cover.

The only antiviral he truly trusted was his own blood!

Alan possessed Level 4 virus resistance.

And lycanthropy was a Level 5 infectious disease.

Theoretically, a single drop of his blood had a 70% chance of curing lycanthropy.

If this drop of blood were blended into the belladonna tincture, it would eliminate the belladonna toxins while retaining the latter's therapeutic effects.

That would be perfect.

The calculations based on the system showed that the compound potion, created by combining Alan's blood with the belladonna tincture, had a 95% chance, if not a 100% chance, of completely curing the lycanthropy patient!

This approach also had a hidden benefit.

Using belladonna tincture to mask the medicinal value of Allen's own blood.

Allen's cures for Locke and Jenny can be attributed entirely to his own medical prowess, coupled with the two patients' good fortune in overcoming the toxic side effects of the belladonna tincture.
