Chapter 215 - TOA 215: Teasing

Olga Marie pondered for a moment. If what Morpheus said was true, it could indeed work... spreading knowledge to subtly erode the domain of modern magi.

Still, there were things she didn't quite understand.

"Why the Lion King's story?" Olga Marie asked, not hiding her questions. Though it seemed like just an ordinary book without the occult knowledge yet added, as a partner in this venture, she wanted to know why he chose this. "Give me a reason."

"Because it's tied to the development of the world the Lion King inhabits."

"The development of her world?" Olga Marie mulled over the words, frowning slightly. "You mean you want to recreate that Singularity?"

Before Morpheus could answer, she shook her head. "No, that's not it. Your goal isn't that. Back then, you sent the Lion King elsewhere... through what was clearly a spatial rift. So, the Lion King didn't vanish as part of a corrected history but went to the world you sent her to?"

Seeing Morpheus smile at her, Olga Marie knew she was on the right track and boldly continued her guess: "Based on the memories I glimpsed from your dreams, you created a small world for the Lion King to reside in. Now, you want to use this story to develop that world?"

"It's a phase. Developing the phase and overlaying it onto the world's surface, letting its power protect this world. It's a small experiment, one that might interfere with actions like Goetia's."

"Interfere with Goetia's actions?" Olga Marie tapped her fingers on the desk, deep in thought. Morpheus's words were an immense temptation to her.

"Exactly, actions like Goetia's. Your thought is that, in the future, something similar to Goetia could emerge, threatening Earth and humanity?"

"Right, that's my thought," Morpheus nodded, a trace of worry in his tone. "If a first Goetia can appear, a second could too. Unless we prepare in advance to prevent it."

"So, you have a plan?"

"Phase overlay. Start with the Lion King's unique Arthurian legend. Once the world is restored, we can overlay other phases... like widely spread myths. I've got experience now, so I can create those mythic phases relatively safely."

Morpheus grinned, though he didn't say everything. With the first phase now truly formed, he wondered if its emergence might trigger the automatic appearance of a second or third, like a self-propagating spread.

Of course, these were just speculations, unproven for now.

"I understand, but we can't proceed until the world is restored. Still, if you want more people to know this story, I suggest starting small," Olga Marie said, flipping through the novel with a faint smile. "How about spreading it within Chaldea first?"

Morpheus nodded eagerly. "Absolutely!"

"But Chaldea's internal distribution is free, so no profit!"

Morpheus rolled his eyes but laughed. "No problem!"

"Alright then, leave it to me. I'll handle the publication," Olga Marie said with a satisfied nod, beginning to arrange the story's printing.

"Wait!" Morpheus turned to leave but was stopped before he could step out.

"What's up?" He asked, looking at Olga Marie curiously, unsure why she called him back.

"Be more careful in the future!" Olga Marie glared at him. "I know about you and Medea, but acting all lovey-dovey in public? What does that look like?!"

As she spoke, she noticed Morpheus approaching with a half-smile. His step-by-step advance made her heart tighten. She instinctively stepped back, forgetting she was seated, causing her chair to hit the desk with a jarring screech.

"W-What are you doing?!"

Olga Marie's neck stiffened, her face flushing as she asked.

"What do you think I'm doing?" Morpheus grinned, his face drawing closer, his breath brushing her ear and face. Olga Marie felt like she was suffocating, despite being a spirit.

Staring into his eyes, her mind a jONJ1 chaotic mess, she glanced at his lips, swallowed hard, and closed her eyes.

Is he… is he going to kiss me? A forced kiss? What happens if I accept? Should I push him away? But would that be bad? Being kissed outright wouldn't be good either, would it?

As her mind swirled with chaotic thoughts, she heard a soft chuckle and felt a hand brush past her ear.

"Director, your hair's a mess," Morpheus said teasingly. Olga Marie snapped her eyes open to see his innocent expression. "Huh? Why's your face so red, Director? Don't tell me you thought I was going to kiss you!"

He stepped back, eyes wide. "You… you were trying to take advantage of me!"

Olga Marie was fuming. Glaring at Morpheus, she gritted her teeth and roared, "Get out!"

"Got it!" Morpheus laughed, dashing out with a swift step. Olga Marie took a deep breath, unable to calm the excitement in her heart.

Her mind was filled with the image of him leaning close, those starry eyes etched in her memory, unforgettable.

"That… that jerk! How dare he tease me!" She muttered, unable to curse too harshly. In the end, all her frustration boiled down to one phrase: "Damn playboy!"

"Huh? You called me?" Morpheus's head popped back in. Seeing her glare, Olga Marie shouted again, "Get out!"

"Alright, Director, call me if you need me!" Morpheus said, quickly leaving and shutting the door behind him.

Within the interstice of time, the Temple of Time stood tall. Goetia gazed into the distance, shrouded in confusion.

The future had undergone a strange change.

"How could this be?"

Goetia voiced its bewilderment.

The future had been fixed... humanity had no future, destined to be consumed by its plan, fuel for its return to the past.

Earth's future was to be a burning wasteland, a barren rock devoid of civilization!

Goetia would harness that immense power to travel back, becoming the sole god of the planet, the only god of this world. Thus, it would shape humanity according to its vision, perfecting their existence.

But… something had changed.

The future had become invisible.

Something had shrouded it, blinding Goetia's eyes to what was happening.

"What is this?" Goetia continued to peer, using its clairvoyance to pierce the veil, to see what was going on.

But it failed. No matter how it urged its power, its authority, it was useless.

Perhaps it needed to send a Demon God Pillar to that future to investigate?

Goetia considered intervening in that era.

But as it prepared to act, a holy power surged forth. Golden light burst from that strange place, striking directly at Goetia!

The attack pierced through space. Goetia raised a hand, conjuring layers of magical barriers that clashed with the golden light, interrupting its clairvoyance.

"They noticed me spying on the future?!" Goetia was shocked. Not only was the future obscured, but someone had detected its gaze and attacked through the line of sight!

Its own vision had become a guide for the enemy's assault!

And that golden light, that power... it felt all too familiar to Goetia!

"The Holy Lance Rhongomyniad! The Lion King?!" Goetia's voice was heavy with disbelief. "But that Singularity was destroyed by Chaldea! How? Why is the Lion King still here?"

Since encountering that man named Morpheus, Goetia had noticed the future becoming uncontrollable, everything slipping from its original plan.

"No, I must act quickly. Chaldea cannot be allowed to continue!" it whispered, eyes opening to scan the world. Even hidden in the cracks of time, Chaldea left traces. By relentlessly searching, it might locate their position.

"I thought you posed no threat, but things have changed. For humanity's future, you must all be destroyed!"

Medea's first advancement went remarkably smoothly.

So smoothly, it surprised even Morpheus.

But it wasn't exactly as he had envisioned. During her ritual, intended to be based on Sandalphon's power, the Scarlet Woman's power surged forth.

In this material realm, her power manifested as the five elements, constructing all things in the world, like the endpoint of creation... a material universe.

This caused a peculiar change in Medea herself.

Morpheus noticed her extraordinary control over the five elements... earth, wind, water, fire, and ether... infused with significant Thelemic knowledge.

Though she had only reached the 1=10 grade, her elemental control granted her immense strength.

Combined with her original magical knowledge, Morpheus estimated that Medea could now easily overpower top-tier Servants. Even against a Grand Servant, she could hold her own in a back-and-forth battle.

With prior knowledge of her opponent and preparation, she might even defeat them.

"It's the sanctification and corruption of matter, contradictory yet unified…" Medea said, surprised by the knowledge from the Scarlet Woman. "Morpheus, it seems we're walking different paths now."

"Yes, I'm with the Golden Dawn, and you're with the Silver Star, following Thelema's path. But there's overlap... Silver Star was born from the Golden Dawn. Continuing with the Golden Dawn system is still fine."

Morpheus paused, then asked, "By the way, if you faced an attack from the Holy Lance Rhongomyniad now, could you withstand it?"

"With a prepared ritual site, I could handle it easily. In an ambush, I could resist, but it'd cost me. Still, just a cost... I could take it. If three or four came at once, though, I'd have to run," Medea said with a smile.

"So, you could block two shots from Rhongomyniad and still recover afterward?"

"Exactly!" Medea nodded. Having faced the lance's power directly, she knew its strength. Morpheus, hearing her answer, confirmed just how powerful she had become.

She was undoubtedly a top-tier Servant, capable of matching the Lion King's attacks.

"Rest for now. I need to think about the next steps," Morpheus said.

Medea looked at him curiously. "Worried about some danger?"

"No, just avoiding dogma. The Golden Dawn method works for now, but we need to study further. Your power stems from the Scarlet Woman's manifestation of the material universe. In a way, it's like a spark of creation."

"Spark of creation…" Medea paused, then laughed. "Got it. Don't worry!"
