Chapter 25 - The Semi-Final Clash

The air above the Grand Martial Arena trembled with anticipation. Four disciples remained, their names carried like thunder across the sect.

Long Chen, the dark horse who crushed every opponent in a single move.

Liu Yan, the fiery spear maiden, determined to redeem her earlier loss.

Han Yue, a cold-eyed prodigy of the sect, his cultivation profound, rumored to have ties to an elder.

Wei Kun's defeat left his slot replaced by Xu Ming, a silent, sinister youth whose poison arts had already crippled three opponents.

Every disciple in the sect had gathered to witness the semi-finals. The stands overflowed with chatter.

"This year's tournament is unlike any before!"

"Long Chen alone has shaken the foundation of the outer sect."

"Will he win the finals? Or fall here?"

Above, elders and peak masters leaned forward, their auras cloaked but their interest impossible to hide.

Schemes Among Elders

Within the pavilion, Elder Zhao's eyes burned with fury. He was Wei Kun's backer, and his disciple's defeat had not only humiliated him, but also stripped him of face before the entire sect.

"This child must be stopped," Elder Zhao hissed, his gaze fixed on Long Chen. "He is too monstrous. If he rises further, not even the Sect Master will control him."

Elder Yun chuckled lightly, stroking his beard. "And if he rises further, he will carry the Azure Cloud Sect to heights unseen in centuries. Elder Zhao, perhaps you fear more for your pride than the sect."

"Ridiculous!" Zhao snapped, but his clenched fists betrayed his anger.

Meanwhile, Sect Master Ye Tianxing remained silent, his ancient eyes locked on Long Chen. His aura trembled faintly, not from fear but from anticipation.

The Semi-Final Announcement

The announcer's voice boomed.

"First Semi-Final Match: Long Chen vs. Xu Ming!"

Gasps erupted in the stands. Xu Ming, the sinister poison cultivator, was notorious for leaving his opponents crippled. His calm, almost indifferent cruelty made him feared even among elites.

"Long Chen defeated Zhao Feng and Wei Kun, but poison is another matter…"

"If Xu Ming's toxins touch him, even a dragon will fall!"

Xu Ming's Poisonous Aura

Xu Ming stepped onto the platform, his black robes fluttering lightly. His face was pale, his eyes narrow, filled with venomous malice. A faint purple mist coiled around him, the scent acrid, making even distant spectators gag.

"Long Chen," Xu Ming said coldly, "your arrogance ends here. Strength is meaningless before my venom. Once poisoned, even your dragon bloodline will rot."

He raised his hand, summoning a writhing serpent of poison qi, its hissing form dripping venom onto the stone, sizzling as it ate through the surface.

Long Chen's Response

Long Chen stepped onto the stage with calm steps, his robe unruffled, his expression indifferent. His golden eyes swept across Xu Ming like a predator glancing at prey.

"Poison?" His lips curved faintly. "Then let us see if your venom can taint the blood of a dragon."

The crowd shuddered at his words. Even before the battle began, his confidence shook the hearts of disciples.

The Poison Serpent Strikes

"Die!" Xu Ming roared, hurling the poison serpent forward. It hissed, its body expanding into a river of venom that surged toward Long Chen. The mist spread across the arena, corroding stone and even threatening the protective array.

The crowd cried out in horror. "If that hits him, he's finished!"

But Long Chen raised his hand calmly. Golden qi surged, the phantom of a dragon coiling behind him.

"Devour."

The dragon roared, its maw opening wide. The poison serpent disintegrated instantly, its venom sucked into Long Chen's palm, dissolved into pure energy.

Xu Ming's eyes widened in disbelief. "Impossible! My poison… devoured?!"

Dragon Might vs. Poison Arts

Rage twisted Xu Ming's face. He unleashed a flurry of poison techniques—venomous arrows, mists, serpents—but every one was consumed, swallowed by Long Chen's devouring power.

Long Chen stepped forward calmly, each step shaking the arena. Dragon Might burst forth, pressing down on Xu Ming like a mountain.

The poison cultivator staggered, his knees buckling under the oppressive force. His body trembled uncontrollably, his venom dissipating into smoke.

"No… this can't be…"

Long Chen's golden eyes glowed. His palm struck forward, infused with dragon qi.

Boom!

Xu Ming spat blood, his body flung across the arena, crashing into the barrier. He crumpled to the ground, unconscious, purple blood spilling from his lips.

Silence, Then Roars

For a heartbeat, silence. Then—

BOOM! The arena erupted in deafening cheers.

"Long Chen won again!"

"Even poison arts are useless before him!"

"He's unstoppable—who can face him now?!"

Above, Elder Zhao's face twisted in rage, veins bulging at his temples. His voice was a venomous whisper. "This child… must not live."

Elder Yun laughed heartily, clapping his hands. "What talent! A once-in-a-thousand-years genius!"

Sect Master Ye Tianxing's lips curved faintly. "The dragon spreads its wings further."

Li Qingyue's Thoughts

Li Qingyue's violet eyes glimmered faintly, her silver hair catching the sunlight. She whispered softly to herself, "Devouring even poison… his path grows clearer. He is no ordinary genius. Perhaps… he is the one fated to clash with me."

For the first time in years, her heart stirred.

Mo Lingxi's Shadow

Deep in the void, crimson eyes gleamed with amusement.

"My little dragon devours all," Mo Lingxi whispered, her lips curling. "But beware—one who devours everything will one day find themselves devoured in turn. And when that day comes… it will be by me."

Her laughter echoed like bells across the unseen Omniverse.

The Finals Await

The announcer raised his voice once more.

"Final Match: Long Chen vs. Han Yue!"

The crowd roared. Han Yue, the sect's most polished prodigy, backed by elders, his cultivation already at late Foundation Establishment. Against him stood Long Chen, the dragon who crushed every opponent.

Dragon vs. Prodigy.

Strength vs. Legacy.

The sect held its breath.
