By the time it ended, the day was already bright.
Feeling exhausted, Dirk Carter put on his clothes.
He asked, "Will you come to my wedding?"
Delilah Goodman turned over.
She took out a red envelope from her bag.
She said, "I've been quite busy lately, and I probably can't take many days off. Maybe I won't go, but this red envelope is for you."
Dirk accepted it.
He weighed it in his hand.
It felt quite thick.
"You cannot refuse; this is a little token of my respect."
Delilah seemed to know he wouldn't take it, so she prepared in advance.
Dirk hesitated for a moment.
With a slight smile.
He said, "Alright, I'll accept it."
After saying that,
he kissed Delilah on the forehead and said, "It's the weekend; you should rest a little more. I'll inform the front desk to not disturb you."
"Okay, sounds good."
Delilah nodded obediently.
