chapter 160 part 2
At its peak, over a hundred people would queue outside the telephone booths.
In one instance, a news report even surfaced about a telephone booth being stolen.
In short, this scene in the short film not only left a deep impression on Colin and the cinema audience but also significantly impacted the future development of telephone booths in New York.
Of course, the changes in telephone booths were a matter for later; for now, the short film continued in the cinema.
With Superman's appearance, the previously complaining viewers also fell silent, focusing intently on the big screen, afraid of missing any of Superman's scenes.
"Is that a bird?
Is that a plane?
That's Superman!" × N
Watching Superman's figure flying in the sky, the citizens of Metropolis immediately exclaimed.
And in sync with the film's lines, many audience members in the cinema recited them in unison.
This slogan, popularized by newsboys, had, in a way, become a universally known phrase throughout New York City.
Many New York City residents knew this phrase.
Amidst the audience's chanted slogan, Superman on the big screen arrived in front of the burning building. He glanced down at the panicked Mickey below and, without hesitation, charged into the inferno.
Mickey: "What's that, Pluto?!"
Looking up at the figure floating in mid-air, Mickey was surprised, but he quickly remembered the poster Pluto had previously brought him: "It's Superman!"
Amidst Mickey's exclamations, Superman, swift as lightning, rescued all the victims from the entire building.
Victim: "Thank you, Superman!"
Held in Superman's arms as he emerged from the fiery building, the rescued little girl immediately thanked him.
Superman: "It's my duty, child."
Nodding and speaking to the little girl in his arms, Superman gently set her down. Then, he flew back into the air, looked at the building's intensifying flames, and took a deep breath.
Whoosh~
As Superman exhaled, the raging flames miraculously extinguished. A chill even enveloped the surface of the building.
Mickey: "So cold!"
Standing by the building, feeling the chill emanating from it, Mickey shivered and said.
Having successfully rescued the people from the fire and extinguished the blaze, Superman slowly descended. He accepted the thanks of the rescued and then cast his gaze upon Mickey, who seemed out of place among the residents of Metropolis.
Superman: "Who are you?"
Mickey: "I'm Mickey, and this is Pluto."
Pluto: "Woof woof."
Mickey: "So, you're Superman?"
Superman: "That's right, I am Superman!"
Mickey: "Have you always been doing this?"
Superman: "As long as people need me, I will always do it, with Truth, Justice and the American Way!"
Truth, Justice and the American Way!
This was also a classic Superman slogan and would later influence a generation of Americans.
Watching Superman on the big screen, always standing tall and resolute, as if no difficulty could ever defeat him, the cinema audience felt a surge of courage.
The total runtime of the short film "Superman and Mickey" was only fifteen minutes. Even so, it was considered long among Disney's animated shorts, as their previous shorts were usually limited to about six or seven minutes, and even "The Flowers and Trees" was only seven to eight minutes.
On the big screen, as Superman uttered the classic slogan prepared for him by Colin, the end credits music began to play.
However, the audience in the cinema remained immersed in the preceding short film, unable to react for a long time.
It took a full ten seconds. When the screen went dark and the cinema lights came back on, they finally snapped out of their trance, as if waking from a dream.
"Brilliant! This is the best film I've seen all year!"
"Only a dozen minutes? Can you even call that a film?"
"Regardless, I'm satisfied just seeing Superman in the film."
"I want to buy a ticket to rewatch Superman's entrance!"
"Me too!"
"Who can give me five cents? I'll sell them my jacket..."
"For just six cents, you can get a pair of leather shoes worn for less than two months!"
Inside the cinema, many audience members began selling their belongings so they could rewatch the movie.
Getting up from his seat, Colin walked out of the cinema, passing through the excited crowd.
"Hoo..."
Exiting the cinema, he couldn't help but let out a long sigh. Glancing back at the long queue of people still buying movie tickets, the corners of his mouth curved upwards involuntarily.
[Faith (21630/100000)]
As his gaze fell upon the displayed text, his smile deepened.
Undoubtedly, with the release of the short film "Superman and Mickey," [Faith] began to surge.
Of course, it wasn't just [Faith] he gained. Colin's gaze shifted as he thought.
[Ability - Super Breath (Bronze)]
[Ability Description: Superman's lungs can withstand any pressure or lack thereof, allowing him to easily hold his breath for hours while fighting underwater. As this ability is continuously used, Superman can now highly compress inhaled air with his lungs and exhale it, turning it into Freeze Breath.]
Following the screening of the short film, Colin had not only upgraded [Super Breath] to the [Bronze] tier and unlocked the [Freeze Breath] ability.
Unlike his previous abilities, however, [Freeze Breath] seemed to be categorized under [Super Breath], becoming a branching ability within it.
Hoo~
Lost in thought, Colin lowered his head and gently exhaled onto his palm.
Under his gaze, a thin layer of white frost appeared on his palm.
He flexed his fingers, restoring his stiff hand, and was quite satisfied with the unlocked [Freeze Breath].
After all, in the Main World, his abilities were constantly suppressed. Even so, he could produce a layer of frost with a simple breath. This foreshadowed that once he used this ability in the Anti-World, the freezing effect would undoubtedly be many times stronger than what he was seeing now.
