Chapter 297: This One's Finally Almost Over
"We're fine!" Future Boruto called out to Naruto. "Also, everyone be careful—Yomotsu Hirasaka is a technique that can teleport people to other dimensions. In other words, this isn't a genjutsu!"
"You sure know a lot, don't you?"
Ōtsutsuki Kaguya turned her gaze to Future Boruto, who was shielding Sakura.
"Damn it!"
Future Boruto, caught between a trap and protecting Sakura, could only watch as Kaguya's hair morphed into spikes and lunged toward him, unable to react in time.
"You bastard, get away from Sakura!"
"That idiot!" Sasuke muttered as he watched Naruto charge impulsively at Kaguya, then quickly followed. "Susanoo!"
"Amenotejikara!"
As Sasuke summoned his Susanoo, Future Boruto looked toward him, and the two instantly swapped places.
Sasuke landed behind Naruto, his Susanoo shielding him. After receiving the Sage of Six Paths' power, Naruto had also gained the ability to float midair.
Meanwhile, Future Boruto and Sakura had traded places with Sasuke, now standing atop the summoning hawk.
"Sasuke, thanks."
Naruto said as he moved a Truth-Seeking Orb beneath Sasuke's feet to give him a platform.
"We need to figure out how to use that sealing technique—you understand, right, Naruto?"
"Yeah." Naruto nodded, his eyes locked on Kaguya. "Sasuke, I've got just the thing. I've been practicing this move even longer than the Rasengan."
"..." Sasuke paused, then suddenly reacted. "Wait... You're serious? You're sure about this?"
"We won't know unless we try."
Naruto grinned.
Sasuke glanced at Naruto, then at Kaguya. "If that move really can force her to let her guard down... Fine. Let's go, Naruto!"
"Looks like Naruto's come up with a plan," Sakura said as she stood on the hawk, watching Naruto and Sasuke.
Future Boruto turned toward her. "Sakura, I'm going to get you out of here first."
"No." Sakura shook her head firmly, her gaze resolute. "I'm staying. I'm going to help Naruto and Sasuke!"
Elsewhere, Naruto combined Shadow Clone Jutsu with the Reverse Harem Jutsu. The absurd combo created an opening—Naruto landed a solid punch on Kaguya. Just as he and Sasuke were about to launch the sealing technique, Kaguya suddenly reappeared between them.
She activated Yomotsu Hirasaka again—this time opening a dimensional portal into a world of ice and snow.
"It's freezing..." Sakura murmured as she rubbed her arms for warmth.
Future Boruto glanced back at her and shared a portion of his Nine-Tails chakra. "Naruto and Sasuke do have a way to seal Kaguya—but it looks like they need time to prepare. So from here on out, you have to protect yourself."
"Okay."
The frigid ice encased Naruto, Sasuke, and Kaguya in blocks. But using Yomotsu Hirasaka's spatial abilities, Kaguya quickly opened a tunnel through the ice and escaped.
"Damn it... It's taking too long for the Truth-Seeking Orb to break through the ice..." Naruto muttered as he watched Kaguya approach him and Sasuke.
Sensing danger from behind, Kaguya narrowly dodged the incoming strike.
Standing before her was Future Boruto, now in Super Sage Fox Mode.
I have to buy Dad and Uncle Sasuke some time...
Future Boruto suddenly teleported next to Kaguya, who floated in the air.
"Rasengan!"
His Rasengan was effortlessly absorbed by Kaguya.
"You... You have a strange power inside you as well..." she remarked, then sent a flurry of ice at him, knocking him down.
Just then, Naruto's Truth-Seeking Orb finally shattered the ice block.
"Now, Naruto!"
Sasuke called out.
"Right!"
Naruto shouted back, both of them reaching their hands toward one another.
"Don't even think about it..."
Kaguya turned, glaring at them.
"You're the one who's not stopping them!"
Taking advantage of her distraction, Future Boruto landed a powerful punch that sent Kaguya flying.
"Mother, we must separate Naruto and Sasuke to deal with them properly," whispered the ever-loyal Black Zetsu, hiding in Kaguya's sleeve.
"Yes."
Using Yomotsu Hirasaka, she opened a spatial portal beside herself and behind Sasuke. Reaching through, she grabbed Sasuke by the back of his collar and flung him into another dimension.
"Sasuke!"
"Don't panic," Future Boruto said as he landed next to Naruto. "I can bring Sasuke back."
"Oh right, you've got the Rinnegan too."
Naruto turned to Future Boruto.
"Yeah, but I'll need some time to lock onto Sasuke's coordinates."
"I see. Then leave it to me—I'll buy you all the time you need."
Naruto looked confidently up at Kaguya in the sky.
"Got it." Future Boruto nodded and took a deep breath. "Pure Eye, open!"
This was the eye that had awakened when he traveled back in time. So far, its only known function was locating dimensional coordinates.
"That eye... it's the Pure Eye!"
Kaguya stared at Future Boruto as he opened his second eye. She teleported next to him via Yomotsu Hirasaka.
"Not a chance!" Naruto's fist met Kaguya's palm with a loud impact. "Aha!"
After condensing his chakra using Kurama's power, Naruto focused all of it into his fist and punched Kaguya away.
"Found him!" Future Boruto called out. With his Rinnegan, he opened a space-time portal. "I'm going to get Sasuke!"
In the desert dimension—
The air was scorching, and Sasuke's parched throat and staggering steps showed he was nearing his limit.
"What the—!"
Seeing a space-time portal open beside him, Sasuke instantly drew his Kusanagi sword, his body tense with caution.
"Relax, it's me." Future Boruto stepped out of the portal. "I'm here to bring you back, Sasuke..."
"Is that a Byakugan? No... It looks different somehow..."
Sasuke eyed Future Boruto's other eye warily. Having both the Byakugan and Rinnegan in one person just didn't add up.
"It's not the Byakugan—it's the Pure Eye. So far, its only ability is to pinpoint the coordinates of other dimensions. I was only able to find you thanks to it," Future Boruto explained.
"...So, we're not going back yet?"
Sasuke asked, noticing Boruto seemed to be hesitating.
"Wait. If we find the right moment, we can launch a surprise attack on Kaguya."
Future Boruto, his Pure Eye glowing, stared into the dimensional rift ahead.
