The next morning, the sunlight streamed through the curtains. It was a beautiful, bright day. A perfect day for hunting terrorists and breaking hearts.
Knock! Knock! Knock!
A soft but rhythmic knocking sound came from the bedroom door.
Alex opened his eyes. He grinned instantly. A wide, predatory grin.
'Ah,' he thought, stretching his arms under the blanket. 'She is here. My little alarm clock. My energetic bunny. Right on time.'
He was expecting Marine. He was expecting the cute bear pajamas. He was expecting her to jump on the bed and maybe give him another "tongue lesson" before breakfast.
But Alex was a pro actor. He couldn't let her know he was awake and waiting like a creepy villain. No, he had to play the part!
He quickly wiped the grin off his face. He put on a mask of extreme sleepiness. He squinted his eyes until they were barely open. He let his mouth hang open a little bit.
"Mmmgh..." he groaned loudly. "Who is it...?"
