Chapter 272 - Chapter 272: Completely Under Control!

This sacred and wild supreme union lasted a full one hundred and twenty-four days and nights.

In the depths of the Underworld, Night and Thunder embraced, clashed, rose and fell again and again; the entire Underworld took their breathing for its rhythm.

When at last the night's curtain slowly withdrew, the Goddess of Night, utterly happy and replete, was still nestled in her beloved God-King's solid chest.

All her divinity felt layered over with warm clouds; the afterglow had not faded, remnant thunder still fine and faint in the depths, each heartbeat carrying a tingling tremor.

Even the air of the Underworld seemed still suffused with that domineering heat, smoking her whole divinity into languor and haze.

Yet greedy Night still greedily savored the sweet aftertaste that lingered in the depths of her divinity, a drunkenness of soul after bliss and peace.

Filled through and through, with not a hollow left, all the pent-up gloom, sorrow, grievance, and discontent in her heart had long since been squeezed out by the God-King's storm-wild love; for a time, there was simply no way to hide or stockpile them again.

Facts, again and again, prove mercilessly: love must be done in action.

The more you do, the more happy and at peace you are, and the more harmonious and complete things become.

The alluring, languid Goddess of Night was now like a dark blossom thoroughly drenched by a downpour, blooming in lazy ease.

Her inky waterfall of hair lay like a living stream of night, clinging close to her lissome, undulating form, the spring-loveliness bright enough to shame the stars flickering in and out.

Her slender jade fingers—nails a deep, mysterious black—were weak and delicate as they traced circles over her beloved God-King's sculpted chest.

Night itself had become a flowing brocade blanket, half there, half not, draped over their divine bodies, hiding springtime and thunder beneath a sheet of darkness so thin it was about to drip.

What scenes of wanton loveliness lay beneath, who could say?

You could only barely see that the two gods were closer than ordinary, and that the place where they pressed together rippled with a strange, gentle sway.

The God-King's large hand would not behave, roaming without end along white, rising curves like thunder inspecting its domain, apparently never sated.

He cradled those twin full bright moons in his palm and teased with a voice rich with a smile: "My imperious, willful Nyx—well? You won't be doubting my love for you now, will you?"

As he spoke, his body moved three points closer.

A low, trembling sigh slipped from the Goddess Nyx's throat.

Then, in an exceedingly docile, compliant tone, she murmured softly, "Father-God~ my great Father… it was Nyx's fault; I'll never do it again…"

"My lord, your love for me—I will absolutely, absolutely, absolutely never again harbor even the slightest doubt."

Zeus, riding high, cocked a brow and once more "demonstrated" his love, purposefully setting his hips and lifting his chest, the God-King's vigor on full display.

Nyx shivered with a violent tremor of divinity, her breath orchid-sweet; those deep, sultry fox-like eyes took on three more degrees of mist.

His big hand smacked down on that proud, upturned fullness; a little violet-gold thunderburst cracked in the night, ringing crisp.

The God-King declared in grand satisfaction: "That's better! From now on, you are never to doubt my love for you again!"

"Nor are you to be heedless, babbling nonsense! And don't you dare spout those foolish words that would undermine my sacred order!"

"If there's a next time, I will not be lenient! Ten thousand years… no! A hundred thousand years—and I will not set foot in your Underworld again!"

The blow was hard and sure; the dark-clad goddess truly took it not lightly and let out a faint cry.

Full in body and soul and drifting in bliss, she heard the God-King's "heartless" words and was instantly seized by anxious fear.

She quickly lifted her delicate head, lowered her gaze in meekness, and pleaded in a trembling voice, "Zeus~ my love~ I'm sorry~ I swear, I'll never do it again! Please, please forgive me just this once~"

"Night… Night will be good and do everything you say~"

As she spoke, springtime languor pooled in her shy, bewitching, water-bright eyes; feeling soft and silken, she tipped the God-King a look that could make tempered steel curl round a finger.

"My lord, my father… do whatever you wish~ Night will forever and ever obey you~"

Zeus was very pleased.

He bent and pecked lightly at those lush, dewy lips, now even fuller and more moist.

He praised softly, "This is the Nyx I love most—the Nyx I can't stop thinking of, the Nyx who makes me smile when she comes to mind."

"Nyx, my love, do you know how your deep, beguiling night draws me? How it makes me lose myself?"

"With you, it is always a joy and happiness beyond words. You—always with that unique tenderness and unfathomable intellect—bind me tight."

The God-King's honeyed words, even on ordinary days, worked wonders.

Here and now, paired with the fresh afterglow of his just-proven "prowess," they were all the more potent.

Utterly drunk on her beloved God-King's sweet talk, Nyx felt her already limp body go softer still, more boneless, no strength left anywhere.

As if any moment she would dissolve into a pure pool of night and melt entirely into her beloved God-King's embrace.

Her smooth, snowy brow nuzzled back and forth on Zeus's solid chest.

Just like a little girl completely lost in love, she coquetted with no reserve at all.

Where was there half a hint of that icily noble, aloof eternal supreme goddess?

Zeus held the goddess in his arms more tightly, pressed closer, and let his breath slow. "My beloved, our two sons—Thanatos and Hypnos—do you like them?"

Nyx lifted her fine head slightly; those dark eyes of the night sky were even more misty now, as if drenched by fine rain.

She was still letting out faint, muffled hums and could only nod again and again.

"Y-yes… I like them… our—our children… I love them all!"

Zeus raised a hand to steady his beloved goddess, his voice even softer. "I love them too. They are our lovely children. Now that we have both sons and daughters, I'm truly delighted."

He paused briefly, then suddenly changed tack, leaning to Nyx's sensitive little ear and speaking in a low, insinuating voice: "But—I still think it's not enough."

"So long as I'm with you, I always want to conceive more children with you."

"My precious love, tell me—shall we, in the days to come, conceive more and more children together?"

This masterful line, chosen at the most devastating moment, was like the truest arrow, striking unerringly at the softest, most yearning place in this Great Mother's heart.

As the supreme Great Mother of Night, how could she possibly refuse the temptation of conceiving more children with her beloved God-King?

It was as if all the stars of the universe exploded in the depths of her divinity; a surge of rapture drowned her in an instant.

The thrilled Goddess of Night could only let out an uncontrollable moan and was already pressed tight against the God-King she loved most of all.

Her voice trembled with feeling; even her breath carried tears of joy. "My love… my love, my love~"

"Thank you… thank you for making me so fulfilled! Thank you for making me so complete! Thank you… for granting me your most generous, most precious love! Night… Night will be yours forever!"

Poor Goddess of Night—she had been utterly taken in hand by this masterful God-King…

The tides of passion kept slapping each other in the Underworld's depths and only slowly calmed after a long time.

Several more days passed; only long after her beloved God-King had left did the Goddess of Night finally recover a faint bit of her wits.

As the afterpleasure ebbed, she felt that she seemed to have forgotten something important.

But still a little dazed and floaty, she truly could not recall for the moment what it was she had forgotten.

In the end, she could only set her doubts aside for now, turn into a soft, powerless curtain of night, and slowly return to her Temple of Night.

As for those two newborn children…

Er…

The two brother gods had, long before, left very sensibly.

Being naturally vassals of Hades, they had already gone to the Hadean temple to report.

At this moment, the Temple of Night was long since empty of any god.

Nyx's mind stirred; she glanced into her mindspace, meaning to summon her daughter Hemera to help her sort things out… and, by the way, share her joy.

But her thoughts had only just looked that way when she jolted hard!

She finally remembered what she had forgotten!

'Oh no!'

'I forgot Hemera!!!'

Mm…

The God-King, who started out rather domineering and rough, truly had been a bit too bold and diligent.

The Goddess of Night, whose heart was already on the boil, quickly grew dazed—and naturally forgot this "important" matter clean out of mind.

As for the God-King…

Plunged into wild conquest and sweet tenderness, he too, in his bliss, had long since tossed the so-called "surprise" entirely to the back of his mind.

Who knows—when he remembers it later, will he regret it?

According to the humble author's understanding of him—probably, maybe… alright—surely, certainly, and definitely, he will!

After all… it was Hemera! The immaculate goddess of bright daylight!

At this moment the Goddess of Night was mortified to the extreme.

Her vision went black; she nearly performed an "on-the-spot death."

Were she not Night itself, she truly would have wished to hide herself forever in endless darkness and never emerge again.

Th-this-this…

How was she to face her dear daughter?!

You must know, this "surprise" was not just for the God-King.

It was for her beloved Hemera herself, too!
