Chapter 30 - Chapter 30: My Trainer Suddenly Entered Sage Mode

"Ladies and gentlemen, our plane is experiencing a bit of turbulence. Please return to your seats…" The sound of the broadcast made people's hearts skip a beat. Hiikawa's face was as white as paper. He had been through a lot of things in his past life, but he had never been in a plane that was in such a state. The screams of the women were mixed with the feeling of the little rice grain to the Italian meaning.

This thought flashed through his mind, and the water had extinguished the little bit of fire that had just been ignited in his heart. His eyelids, which were closed, opened, and the sky outside the window was also pale.

"Hold on tight." He squeezed out three words from his teeth, his voice was as fine as sand. He didn't turn his head back, he was just a steel-framed iron man. The plane was still bumping, and his side was a phoenix-like arc. But Maruzensky's source of fear was not the plane's bumps, but the man beside her, the breath of his body that he had never seen before.

After not long, maybe a few minutes, maybe half a century. When the plane finally broke through the turbulence and the fuselage gradually stabilized, the captain's aftermath of the joy of survival came from the broadcast.

"We're saved." Maruzensky's tense nerves finally relaxed. She looked at his hand, her slender fingers were about to be crushed into pieces. She quickly let go, her movements were a little flustered.

Maruzensky was stunned for a moment. She raised her head and looked at the smiling Hiikawa. Her voice was full of the concern of a family member that she had not felt for a long time. "Trainer, are you alright?"

"It's fine." Hiikawa's voice was also very calm. He stood up and took his luggage. The corner of his tool box hit the bulkhead with a "thud."

Maruzensky was a little flustered and did not dare to say anything more. She had done something wrong. The cold air of Hokkaido blew in her face. The sky was dusk, and a fiery red cloud hung on the horizon.

Hiikawa rented a car and threw the luggage and the whole bunch of plastic leather into the back seat. Then he opened the car door and motioned to Maruzensky, who was still standing in the same place. "Get in. What are you doing, sending flowers?"

Maruzensky was startled and quickly got into the car. Hiikawa looked at the map and drove out of the hot spring hotel in the suburbs.

But her heart, at the last moment of that impossible, was filled with a new hope. A gentle current flowed into her heart, strangely dispelling the fear of the plane's bumps and the high altitude. She looked sideways and saw the side of her trainer's face. Trainer. She silently thought this word in her heart, and then the weight of the world was handed over to the back seat behind her.

The competition in Hokkaido, I must win.

For the trainer. The plane was shaking violently. The harsh sound of metal rubbing against metal was ringing in her ears. The dramatic shaking made everyone's hearts beat faster. "Ah—!" Various screams rose and fell.

The strong sense of weightlessness made Maruzensky's eyes widen. She was just a girl who had taken a plane for the first time. In the face of this natural power, she was helpless. A moment of weightlessness made her heart jump to her throat.

"Trainer!" She cried out, her hands flailing, and she firmly grabbed the things around her. Hiikawa's arm. Hiikawa was also woken up at the moment the plane bumped. He was about to curse, but he felt a warm and soft touch. It was a unique feeling of a girl. Maruzensky's body was shaking, and her tight grip was scratching him. Hiikawa's body stiffened for a moment. He instinctively wanted to pull his arm back. A woman's touch would not come easily. This had become his instinctive reaction. But he had only pulled his hand halfway when he stopped. He could feel that it was just a pair of hands, with a little more strength. There was no acting, and there was no calculation. It was just a primitive, pure fear. He lowered his head stiffly. Maruzensky's face was pale, her lips were trembling, her purple-red eyes were full of tears, and she was looking at him helplessly.

"…I'm sorry, I'm tired." He turned his head back, but this time he did not ignore it. He looked at his clothes in the suitcase one by one, took them out, and put them in the closet. The neat gesture, the straight back, showed the owner's meticulous and unrestrained.

Maruzensky's voice was as soft as a mosquito's buzz. The room was cold again, and it was cold again. She stood by the window, looking at her blushing face. He stood in front of the closet, arranging his simple luggage. After a few steps, the air was as quiet as a solid. The sound of Maruzensky's heartbeat was also getting louder.

She walked to Hiikawa's side again, mustered up all her courage, and asked in a low voice, "Trainer, are you… are you angry with me?"

Hiikawa, who was arranging his clothes, paused. He did not turn his head back. "No."

"Then why… since we got off the plane…"

"I'm tired." Hiikawa interrupted her. His voice was as hard as a piece of sandpaper. "After a few hours of flying, I want to be alone for a while. Is this reason enough?" He said, and finally packed his last piece of clothing into the closet. He closed the closet door. He turned around and walked past her. He went straight to the sliding door at the corner and sat down. He lit a cigarette and closed his eyes to enjoy the smoke.

A posture of a person's loneliness. Maruzensky stood in the same place. She looked at his lonely side face, and did not know what to do. Should she leave as he wished and give him the "quiet" he wanted? Or should she stay by his side like before, and wait for him to get better?

But she did not want to go. She was afraid to be alone. She pursed her lips and quietly walked to Hiikawa's side. She learned from him and sat on the side of the seat. She did not dare to get too close, and kept a personal distance. She did not say anything, but just sat there quietly, one mouthful after another.

The cigarette smoke curled up. The two of them were silent for a long time. Finally, Hiikawa opened his eyes. He took the last puff of the cigarette and threw the cigarette butt into the ashtray. "You go and rest." He finally opened his mouth.

"…You're welcome." He drove the car. On the way, Hiikawa leaned his head against the window and looked at the fast-receding foreign street scene, without saying a word. He was reflecting on himself. It used to be before, but now it was now. He was confused. The warmth of his hand, the soft touch, and the terrified and helpless dependence… He closed his eyes hard.

"That… trainer." After a long time, Maruzensky broke the silence. "Hokkaido… is really beautiful." She pointed out the window. The lights at the foot of the mountain formed a piece, shining in the twilight.

"Hmm." Hiikawa replied, his eyes not moving. Maruzensky withdrew her hand and placed it on her lap. She lowered her head and looked at her own toe. She did not understand. Why did the trainer suddenly become like this? He used to be very gentle, but he never had the slightest bit of a newcomer's look. His body was full of the vigor of a newcomer. That kind of coldness was more sad than this. Was it because she was too disappointed that he was disappointed?

But… on the plane, she was so green that she held his hand? But at that time… she was really good. Maruzensky's head was buried in her arms, her nose was sour, and her eyes were starting to get hot.

The rental car stopped in front of a Japanese-style hot spring hotel. "Here we are." Hiikawa paid the bill, took the luggage, and walked into the hotel with the silent Maruzensky.

"Two people, please. Dinner will be sent to your room at seven o'clock. The hot spring is on the other side. I wish you a pleasant stay." The waitress bowed and left.

He pushed open the sliding door, and a fresh tatami smell came to his face. He looked at the garden in front of him, which was lit by the last rays of the sun and the slender pine trees. Maruzensky looked at it with curiosity, and the unhappiness in her heart was swept away. She had a unique love for this kind of classical charm. She ran to the big window and looked at the night view of the distant city, her eyes shining with light.

"Trainer, there is a stone fish tank there! And there is a real stone lantern…"
