Kenichi began to sweat. His words were caught in his mouth.
Should he come out and tell the truth? She's already on to him. But how would she react if she knew he was Kenichi?
A smile spread on Amemiya's lips.
"I don't know if this is some kind of roleplay, but it's fine, I'll play along."
'Roleplay?'
It was a strange conclusion, but it was easy to see how she arrived at that. Kyoya is acting strange, so perhaps he's pretending. But that came with its own problem. If Kenichi failed to become Kyoya, Amemiya would eventually start to think that Kyoya wasn't pretending.
'Can't let that happen.'
Amemiya turned, her back faced Kenichi. But right before he could no longer see her face, he caught her smile, abruptly curling downwards. Then she strolled into the living room unfazed by the mess on the ground and rounded the corner.
Kenichi paused for a moment.
'What was that?'
For some reason, her mood went from happy to unreadable expression. Was she hiding something? Still, he breathed a sigh of relief. For now, it seemed like he was in the clear, but the better question was—
'Why did she come here?'
Perhaps she just wanted to hang out. But what could they do together? Usually, couples spend time doing a common interest, but was there something Kenichi and Amemiya both liked?
'What kind of activity would she be doing with Futami?'
Kenichi walked past the living room and rounded the corner. He found Amemiya in Kyoya's room, shirtless, her hands reaching behind her back, in the midst of unbuttoning her bra.
'Holyshiiiiiii—'
Kenichi's jaw dropped.
"Um, what are you doing?"
"You invited me over for sex, didn't you?"
Then her eyes widened as if realizing something. Amemiya pointed her finger at him.
"Aha! You're roleplaying a virgin, aren't you? So, I guess you want me to take the lead."
Her words were like an arrow to the heart. Was it that obvious that Kenichi was a virgin? Kenichi was bewildered by how she was reaching these conclusions, but who really cared? In a few moments, he'd finally lose his virginity.
'I mean, not exactly since I'm in Kyoya's body.'
But he was still about to have sex. Perhaps it wasn't so bad being in Kyoya's body.
His hand covered his mouth, hiding his goofy smile.
'It'd be embarrassing if I looked too excited.'
Amemiya's bra came undone, and Kenichi saw her 'weapons of mass destruction'. If Kenichi had been in a gag manga, blood would've exploded out of his nose; instead, it rushed to his nether regions.
"Now it's your turn," she said, as she began removing his clothes.
A few moments later, Kenichi lay on his futon with Amemiya on top. She had an hourglass body, and he could feel her smooth skin. Her long hair was neatly done, and her makeup tonight looked exceptional.
Amemiya approached for a kiss. As her head came close, Kenichi could smell the candy-scented perfume she had on.
But there was something wrong. She seemed a little too happy. Her smile wasn't like the one she had when she talked with her friends back at school. It felt hollow, as if she were forcing herself to enjoy the moment. Was it because Kenichi wasn't actually Kyoya?
She rejected Kenichi, so perhaps the more Kenichi was like himself, the less interested she was in him. As things stood right now, it didn't seem like Amemiya loved Kenichi. It'd be difficult to have sex with that in mind.
Kenichi's lips stretched into a frown. His hand covered her mouth.
Amemiya paused, her expression worried.
"Is there something wrong?"
"How about we do something else?"
"Are you not interested in me?"
"That's not it. Why not save that fun for another time?"
With this, Kenichi could buy some time to learn more about Kyoya. Once he had become exactly like him, Amemiya could finally have a genuine smile.
Amemiya began putting her clothes back on.
"So what do you wanna do?"
Kenichi hadn't thought that far ahead. His head bobbed around the messy room. He noticed a Basketball that he hadn't seen earlier. Kenichi wasn't one for sports, and at this hour, it was a terrible idea.
He remembered Kyoya's smart TV in the living room.
"Maybe we can watch a movie."
They went to the living room and brought the blanket on the futon with them. They made sure the living room lights were off and turned on the TV. They sat on the sofa wrapped in a blanket.
Kenichi went through the movies and noticed a James Bond movie.
'Sweet, this'll do.'
As the movie played, Kenichi watched on in silence. A wide smile curled on his lips. He was completely enthralled.
However, at the corner of Kenichi's eyes, he could see that Amemiya wasn't staring at the TV.
"Amemi—Uh, Risa. Do you not like the movie?"
"No... It's fine."
If it was fine, then why wasn't she paying attention? Maybe she wasn't into movies. What would Amemiya be interested in?
While on that thought, Kenichi saw a scene of James Bond at a restaurant courting a woman.
'That's it! I can take her out to a restaurant.'
A date could buy him time to understand Kyoya Futami and how he courted Amemiya.
Kenichi's lips quivered.
"Risa!"
Risa Amemiya looked him dead in the eye.
"Yes?"
"W—Why don't we go on a date?"
"..."
Amemiya stared at him blankly for a moment, as if the question was strange.
Kenichi had a flustered expression.
'Why isn't she saying anything? What would Futami do?'
Perhaps she was still suspicious of him.
As Kenichi considered what to do, he grew irritated. Along with that irritation came an idea. His eyes narrowed.
"Seriously, are you gonna say something or what?"
She gave a nervous smile.
"Uh, yeah, sure. Of course. Sorry, I just wasn't expecting that."
Kenichi finally felt at ease. It wasn't something Kenichi would usually say, but for some reason, it felt natural to say those words, and it worked.
'She said yes! Let's go!'
Now the only question was, when should they go on a date? If they went on a date on Sunday, Kenichi would have the entire Saturday to learn about Kyoya Futami.
'That's perfect!'
"What do you think of Sunday?"
Amemiya tilted her head.
"Don't you have a Basketball game on Sunday?"
'Wait, I do?'
Kyoya Futami was definitely part of the school's basketball team.
'Damn it! I suck at sports.'
Kenichi never really played much sports, so he'd definitely embarrass himself if he played, and that could ruin Kyoya's reputation.
But the more he thought about it, the more it seemed strange. There was already a Basketball game last week. Kyoya had scored the game-winning point, and there weren't any other games this month.
'She might be referring to a game with Kyoya's friends.... I can skip that.'
"I don't think it's that important."
"Are you sure you've been more focused on that game than the matches at school?"
'It's that serious?'
Amemiya's lips curled.
"Why don't we go on Saturday?"
It means Kenichi would have little time to learn about Kyoya Futami, but it was better than nothing.
Kenichi gave Amemiya a thumbs-up, but he was crying internally,
Kenichi was already struggling with Amemiya, but he hadn't had time to consider how he'd deal with his friends. On top of that, he needed to keep up with school.
'I have so many things I have to keep up with. How the hell was Kyoya managing all this?'
"Kyoya," Risa said, breaking through Kenichi's thoughts.
"Huh?"
"Thank you."
A wave of relief washed over Kenichi.
"Uh, no problem."
At least, it seemed like she was looking forward to their date.
As his eyes returned to the movie, he realized he had missed a lot of the action.
'Damn!'
There wasn't much point in continuing to watch, but as he glanced at Amemiya, he saw her smile, and he felt reassured about the coming future.
