A fist came flying at me, having too little time to evade. I placed my blade in front of it. As the two metal pieces collide, sending waves of sound.
The Sword of Loyalty vibrated, my entire arm shook violently, and I was thrown back on the ground.
Maya tried to approach, but I motioned her to stop. They hadn't left yet!
[Watcher 'Selfish Pig' is excited about this fight!]
[Watcher 'The Entity of Arcane' has set a reward of 500 points for the winner.]
The same watcher that gave advice a while ago was now giving a reward to the winner to keep the fight going.
The fight between me and Clyseus was like a dinosaur against a cat. The beast had tremendous strength and uncanny abilities that I was still unaware of.
[You have used 500 points to increase your strength.]
His skin was tough and rigid. Probably slicing it with my negligible sword skill was impossible. Even though my strength level had reached 10. It was still not enough; I wanted to use more points, but it was useless.
I launched my fist at him, but it was his metallic palm it collided with. There was a faint sound and a pang of pain in my hand.
"Is that all, Author Luis?" he said arrogantly.
I didn't forget he was an arrogant B******d.
"Why don't we settle in another way? If I'm able to hurt you with a single punch, you spare us."
"I refuse; that's too cowardly of you."
That didn't work; usually, it would have worked in old times.
"That makes you no different though... Are you afraid of my powerful punch?"
Maybe some kind of provocation will help me out. But I didn't seem like it. He was still advancing as I cringed back.
"A childish thing; I had expected more from you. The weird child (Author) who was capable of using his mind in a correct and sensible way but you… you're not yourself."
As if disappointed, he thrust his fist at me. It was too swift; there was no way I had seen it, let alone evaded it. A fist struck my chest. I didn't feel the fist, but a damn truck had hit me.
The next second I went flying and crashed through a shop's giant window and into the shop. All the mannequins fell to the ground, and I crashed into the wall that had bolts of fabric, which fell on me.
I felt dizzy; my mind was spinning. What was that? All the hope that I had within me shattered. There was no way of vanquishing him. Or maybe.
I looked at the fabric unfurling. An idea clicked in my mind and I had to use up my points. Which at first I was reluctant, but seeing Clyseus White, I made up my mind.
There is no way to talk it out but to use my fist to fix him. As I got up, I coughed. My chest was tight, and it felt like my heart was crushed with my ribs. Even then I wanted to get up.
"What's your reason for saving them? It's not some kind-hearted self of yours."
It was true; I wasn't that kind person who was willing to help them to survive. If I am honest, I had been using them. Maybe because of my use or maybe because I wanted to survive.
But right now, that wasn't the case. I was fighting Clyseus to protect them. I wasn't sure if I could, but trying is a way to protect.
As Clyseus reached the window and tried to enter, I heaved a piece of cotton fabric at him; for a second, his vision was completely blocked, but he remained unfazed. As if he had predicted it.
[You have used points to level up your strength.]
[You have used points to level up your strength.]
It rang several times, maybe ten times or maybe twenty times. Blood was trickling down my right temple. My vision was turning hazy, but I kept Clyseus my focal point to keep myself concentrated.
If I'm correct, my strength now had reached level 30. Which, I could confidently say, would be enough to finish this fight.
As my fingers curled, forming a fist. My heart pounded, and my mind was vibrating, as if all the things within my cranium would explode out. Keeping a deep breath, I lurched forward.
My fist broke through the air and swathed in the fabric, smashed into Clyseus' face. There was a sound; I wasn't sure what it was, but certainly it was a powerful blow.
My hand was numb, it was trembling, and my strength I had accumulated thanks to the points was fading.
However, the man, Clyseus White, was still fine. Only a broken nose and blood flowing from it.
"You surprised me. This was the Author Luis I was expecting. The silent answer."
He grabbed me by the neck and tossed me out of the shop. I rolled on the ground before coming to a halt.
"This world doesn't need people who depend on each other, and this world doesn't need people who deceive others. And which one of these two are you, Author Luis?"
I smiled, this damn crooked son of... What kind of monster have I created?
This damn Star-slayer, can someone defeat him? There actually was someone, but someone crazier than him.
However, I was losing consciousness. I tried mustering strength, but I couldn't. I felt weak, slowly reaching my demise.
[Watcher 'The Entity of Arcane' has rewarded you with 500 points.]
Even in my last moments, I wanted to laugh. I wasn't the victor and yet I received the points, which will never come to my use.
As my eyes began to close, I saw two feet moving towards my party. Clyseus was saying something, but to me it was all muffled.
In the end, I couldn't prote----
[You are on the brink of death!]
[The one who holds the truth of the world shall awake once again.]
[The beast within you must awake.]
