Chapter 185 - Chapter 186: The Descent of Wrath & The Broken Boundary

The silence that followed the detonation of the Asura Gate was deafening.

Ishita knelt motionless in the pulverized dust, clutching Zahir's cold, lifeless hand against her chest. Her radiant golden mana flickered out like a snuffed flame, replaced by quiet, devastating weeping that shook her entire frame. The iron vanguard—the shield that had stood between them and annihilation across a hundred battles—was gone.

Across the crater, surrounded by the swirling embers of the shattered gate, Lord Ghost Demon stood tall.

The siphoning of Zahir's life-force had restored his depleted reserves, coating his towering silhouette in a violent tempest of pitch-black and violet sovereign ether. His crimson void eyes flared with cold, unbridled malice as he looked down at the weeping girl and the motionless corpse.

"A pathetic, sentimental end for a stubborn insect," Lord Ghost Demon hissed, his voice echoing like grinding tombstones. "He traded his soul for a cage made of matchsticks. And now, mortal... there is no shield left to die for you."

The demon monarch raised a clawed hand, condensing an executioner's spear of pitch-black void lightning aimed directly at Ishita's heart.

He never got the chance to throw it.

SHING—!

The atmosphere didn't just drop in temperature; it froze into absolute, immovable stasis.

Before Lord Ghost Demon's synapses could register the shift in space, a figure stood inches before him.

It was Rehan.

There was no battle cry. There was no explosive burst of shouting.

Rehan's face was an expressionless mask of pure, absolute void. His amber-jade eyes had darkened into an abyssal, terrifying eclipse—a pitch-black sclera burning with a thin, concentrated ring of golden-emerald destruction. The sheer atmospheric density radiating from his frame caved the bedrock beneath their boots down ten entire meters.

"Twin Sovereign Art: Zero Distance — Calamity Decapitation!"

Rehan swung both Twin Death Swords in a blinding, horizontal scissor cleave.

SHRRRRK!

Lord Ghost Demon's instincts screamed. He phase-shifted backward through three layers of warped dimensions, yet Rehan's blades severed reality itself, tracking the demon across the spatial folds.

The twin edges sliced cleanly through Lord Ghost Demon's upper right shoulder and the side of his shadowy torso.

A fountain of boiling violet blood erupted into the air.

"GRAAAAGH!"

Lord Ghost Demon was hurled across the horizon like a broken comet, smashing through five floating dimensional islands before violently embedding into the base of a shattered obsidian mountain miles away.

The impact shook the entire pocket plane.

Rehan did not immediately chase. He stood in the settling dust, his blades dripping with ancient demonic blood.

He slowly turned his head toward Ishita.

"Ishita," Rehan spoke. His voice was unnervingly quiet, yet carrying a profound, heartbreaking weight. "Close your eyes."

Ishita looked up through her tear-blurred vision, seeing the back of the young man who had shouldered the entire burden of their world. She bowed her head over Zahir's chest, softly whispering a prayer of passage.

Rehan turned his gaze back toward the collapsed mountain in the distance.

The seven dormant sin seals on Lord Ghost Demon's chest, having absorbed the dark blood of the Asura Gate and the shock of Rehan's divine strike, began to violently pulse in an unholy, crimson resonance that tore the clouds above into bloody ribbons.

The crimson epoch was beginning to stir.

Rehan lowered his stance, both swords igniting with the combined wrath of the Death God's Mantle and his Zenith Sovereign Domain, stepping forward into the air.

"No more words, Ghost Demon," Rehan murmured to the howling gale.

"Today... your entire bloodline ends in this dirt.
