In the early days of card games, there might have been the possibility of hacks leading to cheating because back then, the whole deck was sent locally for "random distribution".
Since it was local, cheating was easy, just like FPS games being calculated locally, making it easy to tamper with data.
But now, the server sends data of one's own cards to each client without sending data of others' cards.
During gameplay, there's a comparison between the server-side and client-side "card values", commonly known as "data verification". If the verification fails, the request is bounced back.
Chen Ba understood this process well, so he knew that Ice Cola likely wasn't cheating, just purely lucky.
