Chapter 35 - Chapter 35

Makkari and I only took a few seconds to cross the planet, both of us stopping in the Kamar-Taj courtyard where people were already waiting.

"Fascinating. His programming is lightyears beyond anything that Earth could have accomplished on their own," I blinked as Phastos was circling Ul-Thanos, making gestures with his hands that just created more and more ring designs around his wrists.

"He may have used the stones to do that," Aria replied, standing in front of Ul-Thanos while creating a large eldritch circle around him.

She then clapped her hands and the intricate design of the sigil/ circle grew more complex, the chains around Ul-Thanos turning into threads that anchored him to it.

Wanda then made a pulling gesture and the stones popped free, the Mirror Dimension appearing momentarily around us before both she and Aria vanished.

"They went to go put the stones with the others we have," I explained as Gilgamesh and Ikaris narrowed their eyes at their disappearance.

Speaking of Ikaris, his eyes shifted to me and I stared back, everyone else focusing on us two as Phastos sighed.

"Please, we have a genocidal synthetic being here that wants to end all of life on this planet. Let us first focus on this before we jump into another fight."

"I have no issues with you guys at all. Do you?"

"...No, I have none," Ikaris replied with a sigh, to which I nodded with a smile.

"Good! Mr. Phastos-"

"Please, Phastos is fine," he replied and I gave a nod.

"Right. Phastos, how long will he be out?" I asked while gesturing towards Ul-Thanos, to which he looked at the being with a calculative stare.

"Hopefully, until the end of eternity. Truthfully, though, I'm thinking for a few thousand years at most. However, it will not need to last that long as I'm already busy with figuring out a method to get rid of it."

"Can I ask? Why are you guys helping with this if you are trying to resurrect or birth some Celestial?"

"It's quite simple. If humanity is wiped out by Ultron, then he would turn his sights elsewhere. He might then decide that all life needs to be eliminated, which means that we would fail our missions entirely."

"I see. So, this is basically your way of dealing with him like Ikaris tried with me?"

"Exactly," Phastos agreed with a smirk, one that was aimed at the frowning Ikaris beside an amused Gilgamesh. "However, while his body would take a while to break into, his mind on the other hand is susceptible to my own manipulation."

"And how would that work, Phastos?" Gilgamesh spoke up and I hid my smirk as Phastos sighed.

"It's simple. Years ago, I created my own modified sigil formation of how Druig's mind control works without putting my own mind at risk," Phastos explained and we watched as he did a few hand gestures, summoning a golden gauntlet with an intricate white sigils drawn around the fingertips and knuckles.

"So, you're going to control his mind?"

"Into crumbling in upon itself to ensure that he cannot escape from my hold," Phastos replied, putting the gauntlet onto his right hand before clenching his fist.

The moment he did, Ul-Thanos' head fell back as chains shot from the sigils on the ground, stabbing into the back of its skull. Ul-Thanos' eyes glowed golden before twin beams of light erupted upwards, my eyes following the trail of light as it moved further east.

"Where's that going?"

"To the main hive network where it will then stretch out throughout every fragment of its processes and ensure that every piece of its consciousness are stripped away."

"...Huh, nice. In any case, I think I got my own stuff going on so-" I paused as I heard my phone ringing again, looking down at it before letting out a groan at Stark's name.

"What?"

"Firstly, nice to hear from you too. Secondly, Ultron?"

"Dead...or soon to be dead, at least. I'm still waiting on the cosmic entity who's currently destroying its main processes," I replied, not surprised to hear Tony pause for a moment before he spoke.

"What?"

"Eh, I'll tell you. For now, I haven't slept in two days, I'm hungry and I've had to do so many fights at light speed so I'll see you when I wake up."

"You know what? Sure, I'll see you in a couple hours."

"Or days."

"Wait, wh-" I ended the call and stretched with a groan as I put my phone away, drawing an amused smirk from Gilgamesh.

"You won't call him back?"

"Oh no. I'll get to him when I can. Right now, like I said, I haven't slept, I haven't eaten and I need a drink so good luck on this."

"We'll inform you on how things go," Phastos spoke with a distracted tone, to which I gave a thumbs-up and vanished.

It took me only a second to get to my room, Shang and Xialing blinking at my abrupt arrival as I flopped onto my bed.

"Pietro?"

"Quiet. Sleep, hug, cuddle, whatever. Just let me sleep," I groaned, not surprised to hear Xialing along with Tails hopping into bed.

"I'll stand guard until Wanda comes back," Shang spoke and I gave a tired thumbs-up as I let myself drift off.

"Cool. When I wake up, we'll hang out."

"Will do," was the last thing I heard Shang say before I passed out.

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

A groan escaped my lips as I stretched my arms, shuddering from the sensation of sore relief flashing through my body.

"God, I needed that."

"I'd say. You slept for nearly two days," My eyes snapped open at that voice as I vanished, reappearing crouched next to the window as Deathbird gave me an amused smirk.

"Oh, it's just you. Where's Cerise?"

"Your sister is currently talking to her while I decided to come see if you were awake."

"How long were you waking?"

"Merely an hour," she spoke with a dismissive wave of her hand, making me blink before I gave a shrug and dropped down. It was then that I noticed the small spaceship hovering above Kamar-Taj, its design similar to that of the headdress that the woman in my room wore.

"Great, then I didn't keep you waiting long. So, what's up?"

" 'What's up?' We have not seen each other in three Terran days and all you can say is what's up?"

"Firstly, has it really only been that long? It feels like it's been months," I murmured before continuing at her flat stare, "Secondly, I don't know what we are so I don't know how to address you."

"I am your lover as you are mine. Therefore, you shall address me as Mistress."

"...What's your actual name, if I may ask?"

"Cal'syee Neramani, eldest daughter of the Royal Hosue of the Shi'ar Empire though not the heir unfortunately," she responded, making me smirk before I nodded.

"Cool. So, I'm going to call you Callie."

"You are not."

"Well, I've had your legs over my shoulders and my hands around your throat so you're Callie. If you don't like that, then we can fight for it right here and now," I replied, not surprised when she immediately responded with flaring her cape outwards.

She threw two segmented whips with javelin-like spikes at the tip, but I was already gone, my arms wrapped around her midsection as I rested my chin on her right shoulder.

Smirking as she glanced at me, I winked and spoke, "I could drive you head first into the ground with a suplex or vibrate you until you're halfway into the ground, but I believe a simple 'I give' will suffice."

"...I yield," she replied instead and I rolled my eyes as she retracted her whips. "Now, let go."

"Honestly, I quite like this," I responded softly, kissing her neck softly and smirking at her shudder.

"We will have time later for intercourse. For now, you have guests awaiting you."

"Hah, work never stops, does it?" I muttered, but she was surprised as I turned her face towards me and kissed her. She didn't seem to mind as she slowly turned, my hands resting on the small of her back while she wrapped her arms around my neck.

"Okay, that's enough," Unfortunately, my cock-blocking sister was as swift as always, Deathbird pulling back with a smug smirk as I let out a soft sigh.

"You two planned this out, didn't you?"

"You would have felt me coming considering you and I are the only Chaos entities here, brother."

"...True. So, what's up?" I asked as I let go of Deathbird, raising an eyebrow at her frown.

"Stark and his Avengers friends are here to take you to the United States. The United Nations wishes to speak with you."

"Right, forgot about the whole planetary battle," Honestly, I was just too happy about not having to worry about Ul-Thanos that I completely forgot about the whole aftermath thing.

Huh, am I a villain?

"No, you are not," Wanda spoke, making me blink as I looked at her.

"What? How did you...?"

"I can read your facial expressions, brother. That's the same one you make when thinking about how much of an evil mastermind you would be."

"I would be, but thank you, sister. Now, let's go and get this matter sorted."

"Is he usually this carefree?"

"As he likes to say, he is as free as the wind and as erratic as lightning. Ah, Wanda Maximoff, sister of this lunatic."

"Deathbird, lover of him," I ignored my sister and my 'lover' interacting as I walked out of the room, raising an eyebrow at the sight of Tails, Shang and Xialing sitting together.

"Pietro!" My second eyebrow joined the first at hearing Tails' high-pitched voice, slowly glancing at Shang and Xialing.

"Since when?"

"About a week ago, right?" Shang asked Xialing who nodded as I looked down at Tails.

"Then, why hasn't he tried talking to me?"

"You never asked," Tails responded and I stared at him for a while before nodding.

"Yep, you're just as snarky and sarcastic as I am. Well, welcome to the Team."

"Cool. So when are we meeting the Avengers and telling the UN not to mess with us?" he asked, making me raise an eyebrow as our little group walked to the courtyard.

"I am going to meet them. You guys are staying here and hopefully not cause me to go to war with every nation in the world."

"Aw~ Why can't we come with?" Tails whined and I just sighed as I saw Shang and Xialing listening in.

"You know, I liked it when you didn't ask this many questions."

"Too bad. It happened so deal with it. Now, answer my question."

"Because I said so. Now, Wanda, make sure Dummy here doesn't try and bribe the two of them into following after me."

"Why would I do that?"

"You're a nine-tailed fox. Deception is in your name."

"That's called a stereotype."

"Not if it's real. Deathbird, want to come with?"

"No, I have no need to meet the peasantry you parade as your world leaders," she replied bluntly, making me chuckle before I noticed Cerise standing beside Phastos in the courtyard

"What's happening over there?"

"Phastos is figuring out how Ultron and Thanos managed to get the stones."

'I think I know why,' I thought, remembering a certain time travelling speedster that's the reason for why I am as powerful as I am.

"Got it. Let me know how that goes. Hey, Tony!" I waved with a grin, to which the billionaire just gave me a flat stare.

"Where's Ultron?"

"Right there," I pointed at where Phastos was working, to which he glanced over with a raised eyebrow.

"That big, hulking thing? That's Ultron?"

"After he juiced himself with vibranium and a few Infinity Stones, yeah. Believe me, it wasn't easy dealing with a guy that could shift to any point in space, alter reality on a continental scale and manipulate souls as he wished, but I made it happen."

"...I remember the times when the only thing I had to worry about was my old man's partner trying to kill me in my first suit," Tony murmured, drawing a laugh from me before Aria cleared her throat.

"Now, with the pleasantries done, may I ask that you and Mr. Stark head over to the United Nations before they decide to declare Kamar-Taj and our country a rogue nation?"

"Right, got it. Uh, you might want to clench your teeth and keep your neck stiff yet relax," I spoke as I walked behind Tony, holding the back of his neck and his side.

"What are you doing?" he asked and I rolled my eyes as I let my chaos energy dance across his skin.

"This is to make sure you don't throw up from the whiplash."

"What?"

"Whiplash," I repeated slowly, hiding my smirk at his confused frown before I winked at Deathbird.

"I'll be back later for that second date."

"And then we shall have intercourse."

"There are children present!" Wanda exclaimed as she clamped her hands over a confused Xialing's ears, Shang blushing at her words while I laughed.

"Wait, you and the kid a-AAAHHHHHHHHH!" Tony tried to speak, but I decided to move before he could finish his question.

Rolling my eyes at the Stark's high-pitched scream, I sped up, crossing the northern regions of Africa and the Atlantic Ocean in the blink of an eye.

'Speaking of Africa, that reminds me. I need to go see if Wakanda is still good,' I thought as I came to a stop in front of the UN building, people jumping at my sudden appearance as well as Tony's abrupt screaming.

"AHHHHHHHHem! Ahem! We're...we're here."

"I've had three seconds of you screaming like a little bitch," I spoke with a smirk, to which he just glared at me while I turned my gaze to the United Nations' building.

"Pietro, good to see you again," Looking away from the building, I smiled at Cap walking down the steps, meeting him halfway to shake his hand.

"Good to see you too, Captain America. Dr. Banner, keeping calm?"

"As calm as I can be," Bruce replied with a sigh, to which I chuckled before looking around.

"Where's everyone else?"

"Natasha and Clint are off on their own investigation and Thor is off-world to relay something to his father," Steve explained and I gave a slow nod.

Natasha and Clint are probably just hanging out with the latter's family, but Thor, though...I don't remember any major event of his in-between the Ultron and Infinity War movies.

'Wait, no. There was Ragnarok, but that only happens when Hela is set free. Wait, did I set Hela free by altering the timeline? Fuck, I hope not.'

"You need not look so panicked. Bruce and I have talked with some of the world leaders and they are much calmer than we expected," Steve spoke, most likely thinking that I was panicked about the hearing.

Honestly, I was not. Even if they decided to declare me an enemy, I have enough speed to run around the planet ten times and still come back to everyone frozen in their seats.

That and Kamar-Taj is more than capable of defending themselves with sorcery so this was more like a formality.

'Try to make things cool down and if that doesn't work out, show them what true power is,' I thought with a nod, which made Steve nod as well as the four of us ascended the rest of the steps towards the entrance.

The guards at said entrance opened the doors and let us pass, Steve leading Tony, Bruce and I through a series of well-guarded hallways until we stopped in front of a pair of double doors.

"Now, remember. Allow Tony and I to speak first before you do."

"I know the drill. Shut up and play nice."

"Hey, he's PR-trained already," Tony joked and I rolled my eyes as the other two Avengers sighed. "Now, let's get this mess over with."

As the guards opened the doors and the four of us entered, I hid my smirk as I saw fifteen pairs of eyes turning towards me.

The delegate from France most definitely did not look happy to see me and I didn't dare look in her direction as I walked up to where the US area was.

That was until I caught Tony shaking his head while flicking his eyes over to another direction, my own following it and widening slightly at the Sokovia delegate seated next to France.

'Oh, right. I'm a citizen of their region. Wait, I know Sokovia is not big enough of a country to get their own seat in the UN council. Is it because of me?' Given the wide smile on the delegate's face as well as the three party members behind him, it appears that last statement of mine was correct.

"Ahem! Are we all here?" I looked up at the podium as the council chairman spoke, seated beside the happy Sokovia delegate. "Good. Now, let us get to the first order of business, which also concerns the young man to my left. If you may stand?"

I did as he asked, standing up and adjusting my shirt before I noticed the France delegate doing the same.

"The first order is the destruction of Paris' Eiffel Tower, which was done twice in the span of two days?"

"I gave a bit of help in that department," Tony spoke with a smile, to which the chairman just gave a slow nod.

"Still, the destruction did happen and the culprit was you, Mr. Maximoff?"

"No, I was an accessory that was thrown through it like a wrecking ball during a battle against a sentient artificial intelligence named Ultron."

"Well, I find it hard to believe that a program can throw a human through a metallic tower," The France delegate spoke mockingly with a scoff and I turned with a raised eyebrow towards her.

Oh, so we're being petty now? Oh, okay.

"Apologies, madam delegate of France, but I assume you have notes of how fast I can move, yes?"

"I do, and I do not believe it."

"Which part?"

"The fact that you can move at the speed of light."

"Oh, I can go much faster than the speed of light," I responded with a smile, the world pausing as I moved at top speed and sat down on the desk next to her.

"For example-," I cleared my throat with a cough from behind her, making her jump as I smiled. Then, I moved again, walking over to stand beside the judge with my hands behind my head.

"When I move, the world is frozen-"

"Sweet Jesus!" the judge jumped, but I was already gone, standing back in front of my seat.

"-and time is but a friend I pause for a moment to let me move freely," I ended my sentence, smiling at the stunned France delegate before I continued, "We live in an era where gods and aliens walk amongst men while cosmic beings fight on a daily basis, madame. I might have to ask that you keep an open mind lest you allow yourself to fall behind."

"Ahem! Order! Order!" Whispers echoed in the UN council room as I turned back to the judge, now satisfied with stunning her as the man stared at me with a frown.

"Mr. Maximoff, I must ask that you keep such displays of your power to yourself."

"Of course, sir. I merely wished to show the madame what it means to insult someone when they're telling the truth, especially when I can also vibrate any part of my body at the same speed and ignore the durability of skin or any form of matter."

"Is that a threat, Mr. Maximoff?"

"A small observation, sir," Was I going balls to the wall? Yes, but as I saw the France delegate sitting back down, I hid my pleased smile.

Sometimes, it isn't about thinking. Sometimes, you just got to send a message to show them that you're far beyond their level.

"Good. However, there is still the matter of this artificial intelligence you called it. If you are capable of moving at such speeds, how is it able to do so as well?" The Russian delegate asked and I turned to him with a smile before speaking.

"Because this artificial intelligence had an advanced mind on par with several supercomputers, allowing it to think up hundreds of thousands of different chemical reaction combinations to replicate the energy that I myself produce for my speed."

"And what would that energy be?"

"Chaos energy," I replied, holding up my hand and summoning the silver-blue aura of my body. This attracted more whispers, but I easily dismissed it while looking to the chairman.

After all, ain't no one is going to get to see what it looks like and attempt to replicate it.

"I see. Is it possible that anyone can attempt to replicate this energy?"

"No, unfortunately not. This energy was granted to me thanks to the Six Infinity Stones. Before you ask, these six stones have existed since the dawn of time and are able to allow one complete control over their respective domains: Space, Soul, Mind, Power, Reality and Time."

"So, six stones gave you your speed?" Some of them sounded utterly doubtful of my words, but I just smiled and nodded.

"That is correct, yes."

"And where are these six stones now?"

"With the Masters of the Mystic Arts. Unfortunately, I am unable to disclose as to where they are located given that their enemies are cosmic deities that would love nothing more than to absorb the stones and destroy the universe."

"...I see," The chairman just sounded as if he was done with me, shaking his head while writing something down. I looked over at the US section and was not surprised to see Ross staring at me with a calculative frown while he and the three Avengers sat next to the President.

Yeah, he's definitely going to try something.

"Mr. Chairman."

'Speak of the devil,' I thought with a subtle roll of my eyes, watching as Ross stood up and cleared his throat.

"Yes, Mr. Ross?"

"If it pleases you and the council, I would ask for permission to talk to Mr. Maximoff here at a later time in a more secured location."

"Absolutely not," Thankfully, the Sokovian delegate was just as quickly to catch on as he stood up with a frown. "If anything, I believe you would attempt to interrogate this young man here."

"Now, now, Mr. Fraderick. I may understand your concern, but no accusations need be thrown here," The chairman interjected and I rested a hand on the Sokovian delegate's shoulder to calm him down.

It seemed to work as the man sat down, Ross doing the same before my gaze returned back to the chairman.

"If I may, Mr. Maximoff, do you believe that another entity of such a level may appear again?"

"I cannot be certain, Mr. Chairman. With the state of the world as it is, I would be not be surprised if one does appear."

"Then, do you know of such entities?"

'Should I?' I thought, looking at the chairman and the rest of the room before giving a hum.

"I-"

"Careful of your next words, Pietro Maximoff," My eyes widened as a voice spoke in a soft whisper beside me, time coming to a pause as I turned my head to stare at Speedster Kang.

"Where did you come from?" 'And how the hell did I not notice you?'

"Wouldn't you like to know?" he replied with a smirk, stepping forward with sparks of red dancing across his body. "Now, what were you about to reveal?"

"Great, so now you have an inter space-time alerter that tells you of when I want to tell people of you?"

"Yes and no. I was alerted of a canon event."

"Uh-uh, wrong superhero. I believe the one you're looking for is a young Spider-hero that might or might not be swinging around through the city."

"No, Spider-Man still has a year and two months before he is bitten," Kang spoke with a wave of his hand. "Besides, what need would I to talk to him when I can simply hang out with you?"

"And what do you want with me?"

"I saw that you had the help of the Eternals to fight against Ul-Thanos. You didn't have that in the previous sequence."

"Don't you start talking about my life like it's a story being rewritten."

"It got you for a moment, didn't it?" he spoke with a smirk, chuckling as I let out a frustrated sigh. "I kid, I kid."

"You know, you're much more of a joker than the other Kangs."

"Of course. When you are struggling to interact with the world that moves much slower, you feel every need to make fun of every person."

"Then, how do you die in the multiversal war?" I asked, but that seemed to be the wrong thing as he paused in his steps and turned towards me.

"How do you know of it?"

'Fuck! Curse you, my curious brain!' I shouted at myself, taking a step back as he took a step forward.

"Heard it from Loki."

"No, no. Loki and you do not talk about any wars. I know because I watched you when you came to my timeline. Thus, you never found out about it. So, how did you learn of that war?" he asked once more and I grimaced as I reached down.

Sorry, Tony and everyone. A new entity has shown up so I have something to take care of first.

"Why do I feel like you're not going to believe anything I say?"

"Because I have machinery that can tore it free from your mind, therefore giving me the pure information. Therefore, I'm going to give you just this one chance to surrender and hand it over peacefu-" I was gone and out of the building before he could finish speaking.

The silence of frozen time was broken by a thunderous boom and a red blur shooting through the sky.

My eyes widened as Kang shot over me and landed in front of me, a frown on his face as his blue visor was now a blood-red gold.

"It appears you do not wish to live."

"No, I just want to keep my memories to myself," I replied with a shaky smirk, golden-blue electricity replacing my original silver-blue aura as the two of us stared each other.

Well, looks like I don't get any time to rest after all.
