Chapter 265 — Won't You Eventually Get Tired of It?

As for Morgan Freeman—Aaron could understand that choice. He was a natural fit for the role of the veteran detective.

But Denzel Washington… was David Fincher planning to cast him as the younger investigator?

"A 'bad timing' issue?" Aaron rubbed his forehead. "What exactly do you mean by that?"

David Fincher shrugged.

"It means Denzel doesn't have the availability. He's currently filming Crimson Tide with Disney."

"And after that, Paramount Pictures has already lined him up for a sci-fi action project—Virtuosity. He's accepted, so there's no time left for Se7en."

Of course, Dawnlight could wait another year… but that clearly wasn't an option.

Aaron spread his hands.

"Brad Pitt delivered strong performances in Legends of the Fall and Interview with the Vampire."

"Let's have him audition. He's always been drawn to character-driven roles."

Aaron's plan was simple—lock Brad Pitt into Se7en before those two films were released.

By the time Se7en hit theaters next year, Pitt's fame would have skyrocketed thanks to those projects.

Fincher nodded.

"I've seen his work in A River Runs Through It. He's good."

"But someone like him… would he really accept a role like this?"

Aaron smiled.

"He will."

Brad Pitt wasn't like Tom Cruise—he wasn't overly concerned with maintaining a polished image.

And at this stage of his career, he didn't have unlimited choices. A script like Se7en, with such depth and complexity, would only help elevate his acting.

---

With Se7en moving forward, Dawnlight's other project—Scream—also received good news.

Because Drew Barrymore agreed to join the film, director Wes Craven officially came on board.

Combined with Aaron's recommendations of Kate Beckinsale and Christina Ricci, the production of Scream quickly gained momentum.

Meanwhile, once the Se7en script reached Brad Pitt, he was immediately captivated.

He accepted the role without hesitation—willing to cast aside his "leading man" image and fully immerse himself in the character.

That evening, at Club 54 in West Hollywood, Aaron ran into Cameron Diaz, who was out enjoying the nightlife.

"Cameron, you're still as stunning as ever."

On the dance floor, Aaron wrapped an arm around her waist and leaned in close, brushing a kiss near her ear.

At this moment, Cameron Diaz was at the peak of her beauty—fair skin, a graceful figure, radiating effortless charm.

She smiled, pressing lightly against him.

"Really? After all this time, I thought you'd forgotten about me."

Aaron shook his head, his hand resting along her waist as he took in her silhouette.

"Your breakout appearance in The Mask was one of the film's biggest highlights."

"Once it's released, you're bound to become one of Hollywood's next major sex symbols."

In The Mask, Cameron Diaz was undeniably dazzling—radiating raw charm and allure.

The only problem… was how fleeting that peak might be.

"Mmm…"

Cameron tilted her head up and kissed him again—bold, fiery, and full of passion.

Aaron responded in kind, his hands roaming lightly over her curves. Before long, the two slipped into a shadowy corner of the club.

"You see?" Aaron murmured after the kiss, his tone teasing. "You're hooked now, aren't you?"

Cameron's breath came quick and warm. "That night with you… it's hard to forget."

Aaron chuckled softly, leaning close to her ear. "Let's get out of here. You're dangerous."

---

Soon, they left the club and drove back to Aaron's villa in Bel-Air.

Halfway through the drive, Cameron suddenly leaned closer, catching him off guard…

By the time they reached the garage, Aaron exhaled deeply, resting back against the seat as he ran a hand through her golden hair.

Cameron straightened up, her hair slightly disheveled, a faint smile on her lips. "If that wasn't enough, I'm already out of energy."

Aaron laughed, pulling her closer. "Don't worry—you've got more than enough."

"You know exactly how irresistible you are right now."

As April arrived, Easter season approached.

Dawnlight's Philadelphia continued rolling out internationally, while Jim Carrey's Ace Ventura: Pet Detective achieved an impressive $72 million at the North American box office.

---

On April Fool's Day, a Gulfstream IV landed at San Francisco International Airport.

Aaron stepped off the plane and met up with Joey Wong, heading into San Francisco together for a new project's launch.

At a suite in the Fairmont Hotel, the two relaxed in a warm bath, the atmosphere soft and intimate.

"You stopped by Vancouver first?" Aaron asked casually.

"Yes," she nodded, resting against him. "Stayed there for a couple of days before coming here for the launch ceremony of Chinese Workers' Blood and Tears."

"Since New Line Cinema is backing this project, I should properly thank you."

Aaron smiled, brushing her damp hair aside. "It's nothing major. With Dawnlight's current scale, we can support plenty of projects like this."

His hand traced lightly along her shoulder as he added with a grin, "Though I have to say—you're in incredible shape."

She smiled faintly, returning his kiss as the moment deepened.

---

After a while, Aaron carried her to the bedroom, his gaze lingering as he admired her long, elegant legs.

"No wonder they call you the most beautiful legs in Asia," he teased.

She laughed softly. "You'll get tired of it someday."

Aaron shook his head. "No, I won't."

---

Just then, the phone on the bedside rang.

With a quiet sigh, Aaron picked it up.

It was Christina Ricci calling from Los Angeles.

"Disney's president, Frank Wells… he died in a helicopter crash at a remote ski resort in Nevada."

Aaron immediately sat up. "Frank Wells… is dead?"

"Yes. It happened this evening. It'll likely be all over the news tomorrow."

"I understand."

Aaron hung up slowly.

Frank Wells was no minor figure—he was the second-in-command at The Walt Disney Company…

And his death would undoubtedly send shockwaves through Hollywood.
