"Ang... ahn... ahn..." Low whimpers of Nymeria echoed in the room, her hands trying to free themselves from my grip. Each tiny sound tugged at something deep inside me.
She slowly moved her face back, her pale eyes meeting mine as moisture slowly appeared in them, glistening under the soft lamplight. Her lower lip trembled, and her voice cracked with genuine-sounding vulnerability. "I-it really hurts... y-you jerk," she cried in a sulk, her usual composure completely shattered.
