"Are you still angry, my wife?" Maximilian asked in a low whisper, his eyes fixed on her serene face.
Evangeline removed his hand from her chin, her eyes turning to the side. "You are not in your right mind. Go to sleep first."
She guided him toward the bed, his steps wobbling with each one he took. She was about to rise after laying him down when Maximilian wrapped an arm tightly around her waist, pulling her above him, her hand pressing against his chest.
"Don't be angry, honey... I cannot bear it," he murmured, his voice heavy.
"Why shouldn't I!?" Evangeline muttered, pressing her lips together. "Even though those wenches' appearance was accidental, you blushed while looking at them."
"Hehehe~" Maximilian began grinning like an idiot. "You were jealous?"
