She responded with a nod. "I thought about you and your mom every night before sleeping to keep myself sane. I know it hasn't been long yet a part of me believes I haven't seen you for two decades, it makes me feel strange that you still look the same."
"The oath." The Alchemist spoke as he stood beside her. It was time. Anymore and the castle itself would chain and erase her. Only knights who have sworn the oath and were named were permitted to stay.
Victoria bowed her head. "I am the rapier of the king, my blade shall heed his call, my heart beats to fulfil his desire upon his foes. I swear this oath and may the apostles have my head the day I rebel against his Royal Majesty."
The Alchemist nodded. With this, unless stopped by the king himself, the Royal Apostles would hunt her to the ends of any world and take her head the day she rebelled.
One mistake, just allowing one knight to go while restraining the apostles, caused wild, wild spread defections, crippling the order.
