With a gasp, Godfrey's eyes opened once more. A wave of exhaustion hit him as he rose to his knees, his arms trembling as he reached out for the longsword.
Just then, the unknown king appeared above him, cloak fluttering as he swung the sword down with great force, aiming to split Godfrey into two.
The blow struck, shattering the floor but Godfrey wasn't there. A thin layer of mana coated his longsword, his eyes locked on the unknown king as mana burst out of his body.
So… this was how summons suddenly increased their speed. His body suddenly became light.
Before his mind could keep up, his sword had slashed the unknown king but the king tilted backward, hence the tip just scratched his helmet.
The earth shattered as Godfrey, unlocking his two cores, shot forward, evading the unknown king's sweep with enhanced speed. He returned the favour with a slash at the king's back.
Great amount of mana surged through him, distorting the air around him… yet.
