Fight! Fight! Fight!
The audience roared with excitement as the arena lights dimmed, the bright bulbs fading slowly into darkness until only a dull glow remained overhead.
Below, the victims stood frozen in their scattered groups, alarm flickering across their faces as their eyes darted around the arena. No one came to help them. No hero stepped forward to intervene. They were freshmen in a world ruled by veterans, trapped in a game where survival depended on strength.
Then—
A streak of lightning tore across the sky, the violent crack splitting the tension in half.
Every head snapped upward, the crowd and players alike staring into the darkness above them. They waited, tense and uncertain, almost as if expecting someone to descend from the heavens.
[Stop bullying them, Cain.]
A mechanical female voice echoed from above, deeper and older than the one they had heard before.
