"As we speak right now, the Goddess is on her way here with her entire army… You will all be killed like rats!"
The scientist continued ranting, perhaps to mask the fear gnawing at him—the fear of what the demons might do to him before the goddess arrived.
Fuck. An attack is coming, and we only have a few demons capable of defending themselves. Even if we tried to relocate them, it wouldn't be in time before the fight begins. We're being forced into a corner. Jamie… what should we do?
Kasa's thoughts spiraled. Sweat beaded along his forehead as he sifted through plan after plan, discarding each one the moment it formed. Nothing held. Nothing worked.
Silence pressed heavily into the room. They had always expected the Goddess to intervene eventually—but blocking the other demons from returning to Astro had never been part of the equation.
"Let them come."
Jamie's voice sliced cleanly through the stillness.
Shock detonated across the room—including on the traitor's face.
