The air thickened in an instant. What had moments ago been a hall filled with happy souls turned into a room packed with tension.
"Shit. She gave out our location. I told you not to trust her!"
Kasa shouted at Jamie like an older brother scolding the younger one who hadn't listened and had now brought disaster upon them. He stood in an alarmed stance, glaring at Sandra as if she were already an enemy.
Jamie, however, remained still, his eyes fixed calmly on the commander.
Sandra looked equally surprised. The sudden arrival clearly hadn't been part of her expectations either. But the tide had already turned against her, and judging by the atmosphere in the hall, there was no chance she could repair the situation now.
She understood that painfully well.
"Everyone go to safety."
Jamie addressed the scientists as the Genkis began pouring through the broken entrance, crawling across the hall and dominating the space with every passing second.
