On the way back, Fang Yuan did not use his spatial ability.
They got into Logan's motorhome.
This was all Logan owned at the time, and a motorcycle was hitched to the back of the motorhome.
To look after Rogue, Charles planned to give her a quick rundown of basic Mutant knowledge so she wouldn't be unsettled after entering Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters.
"Unsettled? Why would I be?"
Rogue held a Coke bought by Wolverine in her left hand and ate fried chicken bought by Old Magneto with her right, then asked.
"I think you're all amazing!" she said happily, finding everyone incredibly considerate.
After all, she didn't realize it was her first time meeting Fang Yuan and the others, but to the three of Charles she felt like an old friend.
"Don't be fooled by appearances now."
"What if a scruffy big guy suddenly pops up and tries to kidnap you?"
Fang Yuan in the passenger seat gave a "well‑meaning" reminder.
Old Magneto's face suddenly stiffened.
"I'm not scared at all."
Rogue looked up, thinking Fang Yuan was just trying to scare her.
She was sitting in the back with Professor X and Old Magneto; the middle partition had already been removed by Old Magneto, which shocked Mary for a moment.
"I trust the headmaster will protect me!" Rogue said confidently.
Old Eric forced a smile.
"Of course!" he said reluctantly.
Fang Yuan, the driving Logan, and Charles in the back exchanged glances and shared a knowing smile.
Because the scruffy big man who was supposed to kidnap Rogue was exactly the headmaster the Rogue thought would protect her.
Old Magneto understood what they were laughing about and could only give a "young‑me didn't know better" smile.
"Oh my God!"
At that moment Rogue suddenly pointed ahead and shouted.
"Look, is that the kidnapper?"
She was a bit panicked, because a scruffy big man was indeed standing in the middle of the road, carrying a huge tree across the path and blocking their way.
It turned out to be the Sabretooth sent to capture Rogue!
"I still prefer Viktor from thirty years ago," Logan said, shaking his head.
After speaking, he placed a cigar between his lips, then stopped the vehicle to deal with the Sabretooth.
"Wait…" Fang Yuan suddenly blocked him, "Did you forget? You can't beat him."
Logan's face darkened as he recalled the last time this happened; he had actually been knocked down by the Sabretooth, and only Storm and Cyclops arriving saved Rogue from being taken.
"Back then I hadn't recovered my memories yet, so I didn't perform well," Logan forced a defense of his pride.
The excuse sounded just like classic lines such as "lagged," "almost cooled down," or "big opponent on the other side."
After teasing Wolverine, Fang Yuan grinned wickedly, "But didn't Mary say the headmaster would protect her?"
Logan was taken aback, then grinned along with Fang Yuan.
"Yeah, the headmaster is way stronger than me," he added.
Wolverine isn't a bad guy, but thinking about seeing Old Magneto's awkward expression pumped Logan up.
"Headmaster, can you handle him?" Rogue asked cluelessly, actually thinking Logan and the others couldn't defeat the Sabretooth, and hurriedly tugged at Old Magneto's coat, "Shall we run?"
What could Old Magneto say now?
"Go ahead, Erik." Even Old Charles urged them.
Old Magneto took a deep breath, waved his hand and the car door opened automatically; as he stepped out, the approaching Sabretooth froze.
"Huh?"
Then the Sabretooth seemed to realize something, perhaps his boss was dissatisfied with his efficiency, so he decided to act himself.
He relaxed and walked over, intending to help Old Magneto carry the hostage, but Old Magneto suddenly spoke.
"Stay away from us!" Old Magneto shouted loudly, as if he didn't recognize the Sabretooth at all.
"Ah"
The Sabretooth halted, staring dumbfounded at Old Magneto with his mouth open.
Although the Sabretooth said nothing, his surprise and confusion were written all over his face.
"What are you Old Magneto doing? Didn't you send me to kidnap people?"
"What are you pretending for?"
"You..."
The Sabretooth's mind was already clouded in this era; as he was about to speak, Old Magneto's quick eyes activated his power, ripping a piece of metal from the motorhome to block the Sabretooth's mouth.
More metal sheets wrapped around the Sabretooth; with a push from Old Magneto, the Sabretooth was flung far away, turning into a meteor.
After finishing, Old Magneto finally breathed out, gave Fang Yuan and Logan a brief glare, then turned to face the cheering Rogue.
"Great, amazing!" Rogue exclaimed delightedly, hopping and skipping beside Old Magneto, amazed by what she had just seen.
Magneto smiled and accepted the praise.
Perhaps because of that smile, he didn't want Rogue to know he was a villain.
Since returning from the apocalypse, Magneto had become gentle.
Not long after they continued forward, a plane blocked their path, and a man and a woman stepped onto the road.
Fearing they might be there to capture her again, Rogue quickly hid behind Magneto.
"Don't worry, this time they're good people."
Logan laughed and said a line, then was the first to step off the vehicle and greet them.
"Hey, Scott, Ororo," Logan said, overjoyed to see old friends, "Long time no see!"
Especially Scott, since Cyclops was killed by Phoenix in 2006, Wolverine hadn't seen him for over a decade.
But Cyclops and Storm were surprised; they didn't recall ever meeting Wolverine.
The carefree Logan was still basking in joy, raising his hand to pat Cyclops's shoulder.
"It's been more than ten years, huh."
Hearing Logan's nostalgic words, Scott suddenly recalled an old story.
"More than ten years? 1985!" Scott exclaimed delightedly, "You're the one who rescued us from the lab!"
Wolverine only then realized he hadn't even joined the X-Men yet.
But he and Scott had indeed met.
Or at least, they had crossed paths.
In the plot of *Wolverine 1*, Cyclops and a group of teenage Mutants were locked inside Trask—no, Stryker's laboratory.
The X-Men villain names are so similar that Fang Yuan has seen people confuse Trask with Stryker more than once; during a movie, someone asked in the comments why Stryker was originally so short.
A kind-hearted user replied: "He was so short that he turned to studying Mutants..."
When Wolverine caused chaos at the experimental Base and released Mutant children, Cyclops couldn't open his eyes, but he could hear Logan's voice, so Logan's words instantly triggered his memory.
Storm had also heard Cyclops recount the old story, so she relaxed a little too.
It seemed they were no longer enemies… until she saw Old Eric step down from the back row.
"Magneto!"
Ororo was shocked, quickly rolling her eyes.
That's her signature reaction when she activates her powers.
"Ororo, stop!"
At the crucial moment, Charles's voice rang in Storm's and Cyclops's minds.
They looked closely; Old Magneto lifted the wheelchair‑bound Old Charles out of thin air.
Cyclops and Storm instantly froze, refusing to act rashly. They certainly wouldn't think it was Professor X and Magneto making up, but would assume the evil Magneto had kidnapped their own Professor.
Rogue glanced outside, then, puzzled, asked Old Magneto, "They seem really scared of you?"
Fang Yuan chuckled and interjected, "Students are always afraid of the dean."
"Makes sense," Rogue nodded.
Fang Yuan is handsome; whatever he says feels right!
"Dean?"
Scott and Ororo exchanged glances. When did Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters create such a position?
"Ororo, Scott."
In this case, only Professor X could step in. He transmitted telepathically to both, "Eric is no longer our opponent; we now share the same enemy."
He didn't explain much, but he didn't need to—Professor X's name alone was enough for unconditional trust.
Cyclops is now the X-Men's Captain, Storm the vice‑Captain; both earned those roles as X's confidants.
So they promptly switched transportation, from Logan's RV to an X-Jet.
Logan wasn't attached to the RV, but he did bring along his Harley Motorcycle hanging at the back.
For Wolverine, the motorcycle is his most prized possession.
On the aircraft, Cyclops and Storm at the pilot seat kept glancing toward the rear.
Even with Professor X's guarantee, they still hesitated to believe Magneto had truly reformed.
Storm was also uneasy.
"Professor, we left as soon as we received your orders, but why are you so much faster than us?" she asked.
If Old Charles hadn't demonstrated Telepathy, they would have thought Mystique was impersonating him.
"Oh, that's something Fang can answer," Old Charles replied.
Fang Yuan didn't waste words; he spread his five fingers forward, and a massive orange‑red spark ring materialized out of nowhere. Scott steered the X-Jet straight through it.
In an instant, Scott realized they had returned to Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters.
"Wow, what a convenient ability," Scott praised.
He is the X-Men Captain and the leading figure of this generation of Mutants, so such encouragement came naturally.
But Fang Yuan shook his head, "It's not an ability, it's magic."
Facing Scott's and Ororo's astonished gazes, Fang continued, "And it's not only convenient, it's also dangerous."
"I come from another World, chasing an extremely terrifying Great Demon King. He also knows this spell."
Fang's tone was heavy: "So far, the Great Demon King has conquered two Worlds, is invading four, and has even rebooted and destroyed three worlds—extremely dangerous!"
Cyclops and Storm looked at Professor X in amazement.
Old Charles also nodded solemnly.
"He's right!"
