It had been a week since Ur and Levy returned to the guild with the giant beast's corpse, leaving everyone there in shock.
The moment Ur got back, he immediately reported the matter of the dark guild Beast Apostles to Makarov.
Only, Makarov didn't seem all that concerned.
Hearing the news, he gave Ur the impression of thinking, "It's not that I'm targeting some dark guild in particular… it's just that all dark guilds are trash." That about summed up his attitude.
Aside from that, Ur spent the rest of the week mostly healing his injuries and… eating barbecue!
The life essence within the giant beast was staggering. Ur had spent the entire week eating non-stop to fully digest it. Feeling the surge of power within him, Ur's muscles visibly swelled, and a strange mix of emotions surged through him. He couldn't shake the feeling that his path as a "mage" was starting to feel… oddly off.

With his enhanced physical abilities combined with Behemoth's Power, Ur felt he could almost go toe-to-toe with that giant beast using only his body.
His magic had also increased significantly. Between the two members of the Beast Apostles, the demon beast, and a bunch of unfinished monsters, Ur's magic had soared even more compared to a week ago when he first left the guild.
Now, his Evil Equilibrium passive was finally starting to show its full potential.
The week had been relatively peaceful. Apart from recovering and eating barbecue, Ur spent most of his time reading.
Natsu hadn't come to bother him, probably because Ur had been injured. During this time, Natsu hadn't mentioned any "challenge" at all. Still, he went almost every day to see Gildarts for his daily punishment fix, as if he couldn't stand a day without being tortured.
As for Levy, she spent her time rigorously practicing magic, likely inspired by the experience of fighting the giant beast.
Oh, and two more people occasionally stopped by over the past few days to say things that were nearly incomprehensible to Ur.
They were none other than Jet and Droy, who had grown up alongside Levy and later formed the Shadow Gear team with her. Just thinking about these two made Ur's forehead twitch.
When Ur had first returned with the beast's corpse, the two had behaved normally, expressing sincere gratitude. But afterward, they would randomly appear, pointing at Ur and declaring things like, "Even though you avenged us, we won't give Levy to you."
It was maddeningly ridiculous.
The usual outcome? Levy, blushing furiously, would chase them off in a fit of rage, ending each encounter as a comic spectacle.
Yet, the calm of those days did not last.

One day, as usual, the guild was bustling and noisy until a guest arrived, shattering the routine.
"Excuse me, may I ask what brings you here?" Wakaba asked, troubled, looking at the figure shrouded in a black cloak.
Guild members disliked anonymous clients. Often, these missions were either pranks or poorly funded.
"I'd like to post a mission," said the figure beneath the black cloak. The voice was clear and distinctly feminine.
"I see. Please come over here to register and submit the mission fee," Wakaba said dutifully, though he didn't like anonymous clients.
"All right," the mysterious visitor replied.
She followed Wakaba to fill out the registration. But when Wakaba looked over the completed form, his headache deepened. The mission description was vague, with hardly any information beyond the task and reward, classic prank mission material.
Patiently reading through the mission, Wakaba's eyes suddenly widened as he saw the reward.
"Th-the reward… ten million?!"
