Chapter 304 - Chapter 304 Change

Dust settled, and the few people from the Romania Dragon Reserve, delighted with the Galleons compensated by the England Ministry of Magic, returned to Romania.

After all, cooperating with Hogwarts and losing four dragon lives, there had to be some compensation.

No, to be precise, five were lost; their Reserve Manager also died here.

A generous compensation was given to the employees who came here and the council behind the Romania Dragon Reserve, and the matter ended happily.

Lupin also took a long leave from the Reserve; Hogwarts was in a turbulent period, and he might be able to help if he stayed here.

Unlike Lupin and Sirius, who settled down and enjoyed life, fishing or drinking every day, Kayson was now working non-stop in his office.

The date of the second task was approaching, and the Champions mostly knew what the task was: nothing more than diving into the Black Lake and doing various things.

This required two methods: one was free breathing in the Black Lake, which Kayson had already taught the Little Wizards in his Alchemy class for underwater breathing, so there was no need to worry.

The second was a quick disengagement. In a task within the Black Lake, even thinking with one's knees would reveal that there would definitely be Merpeople opposing the Champions. And in terms of agility in water, the Champions would absolutely not be able to surpass Merpeople, so Kayson pondered and came up with a good idea.

He slightly combined the three enchantments: Blessing of the Sea, Frostwalker, and Loyalty, and thus, Sea's Disdain was invented, looking fresh and vibrant.

"Now I need a loyal test subject!" He picked up an enchantment book and mumbled as he rushed out of his office.

Then he saw a Little Wizards.

"Cedric, come with me," Kayson said with a smile as he saw Cedric.

"No problem, Professor."

Soon, the two arrived at the Black Lake.

"Professor, what are you going to do?" Cedric asked, puzzled.

"Drink this bottle of Gillywater, and dive. Dive as deep as you can," Kayson said directly.

"That's it?" Cedric asked, puzzled.

"Of course not just this. Do you see this? This is an enchantment book I just made. After you dive to the very bottom, use it to self-enchant," Kayson said, handing the Sea's Disdain enchantment book to Cedric.

"No problem, Professor." Cedric took the enchantment book, quickly stripped down to his underwear, and then plunged directly into the water.

Kayson pulled out a pocket watch Snape had given him a while ago and checked the time. It didn't take long, presumably Cedric had already dived to the bottom. Soon, as he expected, a white pillar suddenly appeared from the bottom of the water, and he was directly pushed out by the seawater.

Then he stood steadily on the water's surface.

"Professor..." Cedric looked at Kayson not far away and couldn't help but swallow: "Professor, your new enchantment is so incredibly cool."

Kayson raised an eyebrow: "I'm your mentor, so if what I make isn't cool, then what is?"

Cedric's eyes lit up: "You agreed to be my mentor?"

Kayson clicked his tongue: "Didn't you say I was your mentor when you were interviewed? Are you getting shy now?"

Cedric was subconsciously a little excited. A mentor and a Professor are different. To put it simply, Professors teach large classes, while mentors teach small classes.

Or, to make some localization adjustments, a Professor is called 'Mister,' while a mentor is called 'Master.' Although it's not as close as the master-disciple relationship in the East, there isn't much difference.

"At that time, wasn't I annoyed by those reporters? I just thought that your reputation, Professor, might scare them off," Cedric said, scratching the back of his head.

"Uh-huh, you overestimated me. Not only were they not scared by me, they even interviewed me properly. You know what happened later, they made me take the blame, huh?" Kayson put an arm around Cedric's neck and rubbed the back of his head with his knuckles.

In the sky not far from the two, Krum watched their interaction while sitting on his broom. He wasn't too interested in such mentor-disciple relationships, after all, the relationships at Durmstrang were, how to put it, much stiffer than at Hogwarts.

He was interested in the method Cedric used to suddenly burst out of the water.

If the second task was indeed as he expected... No, his expectation must be correct, after all, he had personally seen this official Champion of Hogwarts come here to train.

Then the second task must be related to this Black Lake.

Now he just needed to find out what this method was...

"How about using a honey trap?" Krum, brainstorming, suddenly caught a flash of inspiration, then turned his broom towards the Beauxbatons' quarters.

He planned to find Fleur.

Meanwhile, Kayson, back in his office, immediately dispatched his new subordinate, Cedric, to find Harry.

And he told Cedric to take Harry and have a good time with this awesome big baby.

Striving for a beautiful result in the second task.

However, just a few minutes after Cedric left, another Little Wizards arrived, standing gracefully before him.

"Uh-huh... Ms. Delacour, is there something you need?" Kayson asked, puzzled.

"You can just call me Fleur, Professor~" Fleur said in a melodious voice, leaning slightly forward, hands resting on the office desk.

"No, no, no, in fact, we're not that familiar, are we?" Kayson shook his head.

"Oh, alright, Professor, sometimes you're quite boring. Has no one ever told you that?" Fleur said with a pained expression.

"No, at least here at Hogwarts, I'm considered a paragon of mental and physical health," Kayson explained.

Fleur looked at the unyielding Kayson and subtly took a deep breath. She suddenly regretted listening to Krum and coming here to be a pawn.

After all, this Professor in front of her, who looked decent, was actually just a block of wood, wasn't he?

It was a bit outrageous. Once she managed to coax the enchantment book out of him, she wouldn't give it to Krum; she'd trick him. Why should she do all the work and effort while that guy just provides information and reaps the benefits? It wasn't fair.

Just as Fleur took a deep breath, intending to continue her offensive, another uninvited guest arrived.

"Oh, Harley... Why didn't you dry your clothes?" Kayson asked, puzzled.
