Rhea fell onto her bed like a felled tree, her limbs spreading wide as she dropped face first into the duvet. The impact sent a jolt through her midsection, and her stomach churned violently, the dinner she had just consumed threatening to make a sudden reappearance. She let out a muffled groan into the pillow and forced herself to roll over, staring up at the shadows dancing across the ceiling. Sometimes she could be incredibly childish; only a fool would drop like a stone right after a heavy meal.
She placed her palms flat against her stomach, smoothing the fabric of her shirt in slow, rhythmic circles to calm the upheaval. After a few minutes, the unpleasant rolling in her gut subsided into a dull throb. She let out a long, shaky exhale, the silence of the room allowing her mind to drift back to the dining hall.
