Fenris lets out a soft whine at the praise. Rhea, unable to help herself, reaches up with her free hand and begins to pet his damp hair, her fingers trailing down to the scruff of his neck. Fenris leans into the touch, his eyes closing as he basks in the attention from his mate. To him, no amount of family betrayal is enough to justify denying a mate bond. He had never agreed with Ares's rejection, and now that he holds the reins, he has a plan.
He will mark her. Claim her. Bind them so tightly that his human half will never be able to walk away from their mate again. He knows that rejecting a marked mate could kill them both, and even Ares wouldn't take that risk.
Fenris purrs internally, proud of his own predatory logic.
"Fenris wants mate," was the only thing Rhea heard before she found herself airborne.
