"Who goes there!"
The Frost Giant leader jolted in alarm. This was a battlefield between two realms. How could someone suddenly intrude?
The Warriors Three of Asgard turned sharply as well.
"Hela!"
In the past, Hela's authority had rivaled Odin himself. They had been young then, but her name was etched into memory. More importantly, they knew exactly how dangerous she was.
An enemy they could never defeat, no matter how hard they fought.
What they could not understand was why she was here. She should have been sealed within the realm of the dead.
But there was no time to think.
Hela advanced step by step, her presence commanding and unhurried, walking straight toward the Frost Giants.
The moment their leader saw her, fear flooded his eyes.
He remembered clearly how she had once helped Odin conquer the Nine Realms. That terror was unforgettable.
Dominant. Ruthless.
Even those words failed to capture her true horror.
"You… weren't you sealed away?"
"Yes," Hela replied with a faint smile. "I was. But now… I've returned."
Weapons formed in her hands. The smile on her face slowly turned cold.
She had been exiled for her cruelty and ambition.
What she hated most was betrayal.
As she approached, the Frost Giant leader suddenly dropped his weapon.
"We surrender!"
"Surrender?"
Hela repeated the word, her tone indifferent.
"Too late."
Her blade pierced his heart.
"Only your death can serve as the price of submission."
She pulled the weapon free and looked at the trembling Frost Giants.
"You have two choices. Submit… or die."
Fear spread through them.
Some chose resistance.
They died quickly.
Blades danced, blood stained the ground, and the battlefield fell silent.
At last, the surviving Frost Giants lowered their heads.
Only then did Hela smile.
The thrill of slaughter… she had missed it.
The Warriors Three stood frozen, stunned by what they had witnessed.
They did not fully understand the situation, but one thing was certain.
Hela was their enemy.
And she had already declared herself Queen of Asgard.
Where was Thor?
Even without him, they believed Loki had more right to the throne than her.
Volstagg stepped forward, anger burning in his eyes.
"Where is Thor!"
Hela glanced at him casually.
"That is not something you need to know. You only need to understand one thing. Submit."
Her words did not break their resolve.
"Asgardian warriors never retreat!"
The three charged at her together.
In the next instant, they were thrown back.
They did not die, nor were they gravely wounded.
Hela knew who they were. She understood their importance within Asgard.
For now, she had no intention of destroying Asgard.
She sought revenge, yes. But Asgard was also the source of her power.
She wanted it to grow stronger, not weaker.
Killing the Warriors Three would only harden resistance.
That would serve her no purpose.
What she wanted was simple.
Conquest.
Even as the Warriors Three stood firm, Hela gave a single command.
The gates of the underworld opened.
An endless tide of undead poured forth, a sight terrifying enough to break any army.
With her own power, Hela began bringing all of Asgard under her rule.
Meanwhile, Thor and Loki had not been idle.
They had secretly returned to Asgard, but with undead forces everywhere, they had no choice but to remain hidden.
They contacted Sif and reconnected with the Warriors Three.
"By the gods, Thor. I thought you were dead."
Hogun clapped him on the shoulder, relief clear in his eyes.
"What's happening in Asgard?"
"Hela has taken the throne. And her first decree was brutal."
Hogun's voice was tight with anger.
"Asgard is drowning in fear and bloodshed."
"Thor… we need you."
They spoke over one another, urgency filling every word.
Thor and Loki exchanged grave looks.
Hela had returned.
And she had already begun her reign.
Thor slammed his fist against the wall, frustration blazing in his eyes.
Inside the palace, Hela sat upon the throne.
Asgard's nobles stood below her.
"From this day forward, I will tolerate no rebellion."
Her voice was calm, yet sharp as a blade.
"And I expect Asgard to shed this weakness."
She leaned back slightly, her posture relaxed but commanding.
Asgard should not be weak.
With its strength, it should conquer the stars.
As Asgard grew stronger, so would she.
Peace?
Without power, peace was nothing more than a lie told by the weak.
That was her belief.
But not everyone agreed.
For most, peace was worth everything.
Asgard had enjoyed it for thousands of years.
Rebellions happened, yes. But they were swiftly crushed.
Hela's vision was too extreme.
Listening to her actions, Thor's anger grew.
"We have to act!"
"How?" Loki replied calmly. "We can't defeat her."
He was far more realistic.
Right now, they were nothing but fugitives.
The only one capable of facing Hela head-on was Nolan Locke.
"I need a new weapon," Thor said without hesitation.
Mjolnir was gone.
And even before it shattered, it had obeyed Hela without resistance.
That alone proved she held dominance over it.
Even if he reclaimed it, it would be useless.
He needed something stronger. Something beyond her control.
"Then we go to the Dwarf King," Loki said, eyes gleaming.
"He forged Mjolnir. If anyone can create a weapon stronger than it, it's him."
Thor's eyes lit up.
That was their best chance.
Back on Earth, Nolan was making his preparations.
Locke Tech had liquidated nearly all its external stock holdings within a single day.
The global market trembled.
Governments reached out repeatedly, concerned he might be planning something drastic.
But Nolan ignored the noise.
With vast funds in hand, he began moving in earnest.
Defeating Hela would not be easy.
Buying third-generation super soldier technology was out of the question. The cost would devour everything he had built.
But brute force was not the only path.
Even the strongest individual could fall before an overwhelming army.
His plan was simple.
Crush the undead legions.
Then pin Hela down with absolute superiority.
With that, victory would become inevitable.
A complete mechanized war system began taking shape.
Terminators would serve as the vanguard.
Orbital tanks would provide mid-to-long-range bombardment.
Electromagnetic railguns would strike from extreme distances.
And beyond all that, he had something even more devastating prepared.
A planetary engine.
Originally meant to move worlds, now repurposed for war.
The battlefield would never be Earth. If it were, the planet would not survive.
Weapons rolled off production lines one after another.
Each one was immediately transported away through portal gates.
No witnesses. No interference.
And beyond conventional weapons, he prepared something far more terrifying.
The Droplet.
And even… a dimensional strike weapon.
More than half a month passed.
Thor reached the Dwarven realm.
It lay in ruins.
Hela had come.
And resistance had turned the land into a sea of fire.
They found the Dwarf King, barely alive.
"Thor… my friend…"
"What happened here?"
"Hela came… with the armies of death."
That was all Thor needed to hear.
"I need your help."
"I want to defeat her. But my hammer is useless against her. I need a new weapon. One strong enough to stand against Hela. Can you forge it?"
"Of course."
The Dwarf King agreed without hesitation.
Though forging such a weapon would not be easy.
The key component had been damaged.
But after hearing the explanation, Thor only smiled.
"That's easy enough to fix."
Days later, Thor stood ready to return to Asgard.
In his hand was a new weapon.
Stormbreaker.
Lightning crackled faintly around its blade.
His eyes burned with confidence.
With Nolan's help, his divine power had awakened.
Hela's assault had pushed it even further.
Now, with a weapon far stronger than Mjolnir…
What was Hela to him?
He raised Stormbreaker high.
"Friends, it's time to reclaim my throne!"
Loki glanced at him, expression complicated.
"Perhaps… we should stop by Earth first."
Even now, he did not trust their chances without Nolan.
Thor laughed, dismissive.
"My brother, have some faith in me. If you're worried, go find Nolan yourself."
"By the time you convince him… I'll already have taken back my throne."
Loki fell silent.
Sometimes, his brother truly was an idiot.
Why fight alone when you could bring overwhelming force?
So he nodded.
"Fine. We split up."
"I'll convince him. After all, Hela isn't just a threat to Asgard."
With that, Loki vanished.
The Warriors Three watched him go, unimpressed.
"I bet he's running away," Hogun muttered.
Thor shook his head.
"That's his choice. But now, brothers… are you ready?"
"Always!"
They laughed together.
Soon after, Thor returned to Asgard.
This time, he did not hide.
Wherever undead stood in his path, Stormbreaker cut them down, sending them back to the realm of the dead.
As he carved through the battlefield, a massive wolf appeared before him.
Fenrir.
"Hey there, big dog. What do you want?"
He swung Stormbreaker without hesitation.
A thunderous explosion rang out.
Fenrir was sent flying.
Thor smirked.
He had heard of the beast's terror.
But now, it meant nothing.
This… was power.
He inhaled deeply.
Hela.
I'm coming.
This time… I will take back my throne.
