Leilani.
For a couple of seconds, the only thing I felt was the feeling I have grown accustomed to, especially in these past few days:
Anger.
And I made sure to channel all of that anger into my eyes and voice as I turned to glare at Zevran.
"No," I bit out again, sharper this time. "I cannot. I will not do that… is that why you asked me to turn? To shift back to human form despite knowing how far we are from the place we left our clothes?"
I had half expected him to deny it. I had expected him to be more soft… more gentle and show a bit of compassion. But to my utmost dismay, he didn't. Instead, she shrugged, his eyes finding everything but my face as he answered;
"Yes. It is exactly why I asked you to turn." he replied softly, almost sounding like he pitied me.
Well, if he really did pity me, then we wouldn't be having this conversation right now. He wouldn't be trying to put me through agony when I'd just stepped out of it only a couple of seconds ago.
