"Wretched whore…" On another streetlamp, a woman in tattered clothes was hung. Her neck tilted to the side at a grotesquely unnatural angle.
"Damn it…" Further back, the third streetlamp bore the body of a child, a Dwarf child. The Tang Army soldiers who saw this were grim-faced, muttering under their breaths.
"Why would they do this?" Holding his rifle, carrying a pack, another Tang Army soldier walked up to the hanged Dwarf child, confused about the situation.
"Heaven knows… Damn, there's another one." Staring at yet another child's corpse not yet hung on the streetlamp, several approaching Tang Army soldiers spotted it.
Perhaps it was because the Tang Army advanced too quickly, or other reasons, that the Dwarves abandoned this area, leaving the last body unhung as they hastily left.
"Perhaps because of this…" Near the body not hung on the streetlamp, there was an empty can, some Tang Army food packaging, and a smashed empty water bottle.
"Hopefully they fight us with the same fierceness! It wouldn't make me feel so bad when pulling the trigger." Looking at the child's corpse on the ground, a burly Tang Country Soldier choked up a bit before speaking.
The sound of engines gradually grew louder, as a wheeled armored vehicle came rolling in from the other side of the intersection. Followed by the second and third vehicles, they were the infantry's protection units, finally catching up to the main force after maneuvering around the ruins.
"Set up a defense line over there! Clear the nearby buildings! Beware of snipers!" The armored vehicles opened their doors, and soldiers poured out one by one. The leading officer waved his arms and shouted orders loudly.
"Take down those corpses… don't leave them hanging up there… take photos before removing them… how can these bastards treat their people so brutally." Having seen the civilian corpses hung on the streetlamp, the commanders looked displeased, especially upon spotting the wooden plaque on the Dwarf child's body.
The plaque read: "I ate the enemy's food."
