Two days after moving in, Raizen had learned that Kori woke people up in mostly three ways: with tea, with a pillow or two flung from the doorway, or, on mornings she considered special, with a wooden spoon beaten against a big pan.
…Today was apparently that special.
"Rise and sparkle! Field trip, minions!" The spoon hit the pan again. "Get dressed, we're going to the Academyy~"
Raizen jolted upright on instinct, and his face collided with something right above. Hikari had already been leaning over him, studying him the way she had that first morning in Takeshi's room and again in the med wing - it was turning into a habit - and something soft ghosted the corner of his mouth, like a thought he couldn't quite catch.
For a second neither of them moved, Hikari's eyes wide and her fingertips drifting up to rest against her jaw, while Kori went on clanging away in the doorway. "Rise and sparkle, we're going to be late!"
