Chapter 3 - Chapter 2 Sudden Change

Alaric and Levin sat near the desk where Tyshira was. "What do you mean by 'what I am'?" he asked. She smiled and searched her laptop, starting a video and showing it to them. It was the fight that Alaric had the other day; the two of them were stunned and didn't notice any cameras.

"But how?" Levin asked, watching the video. "Don't worry about it, I already deleted the video on the main surveillance cameras in the city. I only have this copy." She reassured. Alaric was still stunned by this revelation. He had more questions to ask, like why, how, and when?

"Who are you?" Alaric asked. She leaned back. My name is Tyshira, and I'm from the nation of Doilria. "Doilria? That place doesn't exist." Levin claimed. Tyshira smiled at his comment. "Here in the world, no one knows this nation because a force field hides it." she said.

The two looked at each other and looked at her. "So something outside of a sci-fi movie?" Alaric asked. She nodded and then pulled out a special type of dagger. "This is one of our weapons. This dagger was made of a special type of metal with the technology we have." Then she pressed a button.

The dagger was changing its technology and growing. Gears turning, the metal shifting, and it became a sword. Alaric was astounded by the view, sensing something familiar about this sword, then a memory came to him. A man holding the same sword, with a crown on his head, with golden colored armour.

"Can I see the sword?" Alaric asked. Then Tyshira handed it to him. He grabbed the sword, and it reacted to him, and it shimmered a bit brighter. Tyshira saw this and knew that he needed this sword. "That sword belonged to the king of my name, his highness King Qalzrin." she claimed.

Alaric looked up at her, slightly remembering that name. "Why do I know that name? Who is he?" he asked. Tyshira sighed, wondering if she should tell him. "In time, I'll reveal everything, but for now, go to your classes." she said. But Alaric stood up and demanded that she reveal it to him.

But Tyshira looked at him and with reptilian eyes that glowed yellow. Alaric felt the stare and sat back down. Levin was surprised at this and gulped. "Keep the sword, press the blue button, and it will turn into a bracelet." she said. Then the sword turned into a bracelet over Alaric's wrist.

The two stood up and then left, but "Thank you, and sorry for my outburst, it's just this is a lot." Alaric said. He nodded, then left. Tyshira turned away, looking through the window, then sensing something, or someone.

In the disclosed location, Leviathan was getting the lab ready for his plans. There were many incubators in this lab, and the creatures were ready to be released. "Soon that boy will die." he said.

During the day, Alaric was looking at his normal arms, but he looked at them and thought about the other day with the dragons, and he thought about how Levin was helpless in their grasp.

He facepalmed, feeling so weak, but also what did Tyshira mean about her nation, Doilria, or who Qalzrin is, and why he feels a connection to him. Levin noticed that he wasn't feeling well, emotionally. "Hey, it's going to be alright, we're gonna get through this, together." he stated.

Alaric nodded and thought, together, just what he wanted. Levin smiled and stood up, and waved, going to his next class, which Alaric didn't have. Later on, Tyshira went to look for him again. "Alaric, it's time." she said. "Time for what?" he asked. She gestured to follow him.

He followed her around the building, then outside. They walked to a tool shed that had a plaque with her name on it. She opened it with her keys and went in. The shed looked old and dusty, like it hadn't been cleaned for a while. Tyshira stepped forward to a table and placed her hand on it.

Then a screen lit up and she started to type a code. Alaric was stunned, then felt a rumble underneath him. Then the floor started to go down like an elevator. Alaric tried not to stumble at the sudden movement. It went down probably ten feet underground, and he saw a room with different stands with practice weapons, some armour, and a matted floor.

"What is all this?" he asked. "Welcome to my training room, here I will train you on your new abilities," she said. She stepped in and grabbed two practice staffs, then threw one at Alaric. "Now, let's test your skills in a practice fight." Alaric caught the staff and looked at it.

"Well, I do know some martial arts." as he grinned. Tyshira wasn't impressed and took a stance. Alaric took his stance and smiled. They began, and Tyshira swung the staff at him. He blocked a few strikes, but some hit him. "OW! HEY! AAH!" he cried.

"You must clear your mind and focus on your power." She said. Alaric was still struggling with this match. "How can I? You keep hitting me!" he claimed. But Tyshira just kept going. Then Alaric gained his strength, pushing her away. He was even surprised.

Tyshira noticed and was a little amused, but didn't show it. Then she threw the staff at him, but he caught it with his hand. "Good, you're using your reflexes now, let's sit." she said. But Alaric didn't want to, "No, I want to keep going, let's train some more." he said. Tyshira just glared at him, then pointed down. He then sat down, reluctantly.

"Now close your eyes and clear your mind. We need to tap into your power," she instructed. Alaric closed his eyes and just tried not to think. "Good, now think about your power, your dragon abilities." She extended her hands, "Now hold my hands." she said.

He held her hands. "How is this going to help? You say I have dragon abilities, but I'm not sure." Tyshira smiled, "You need to feel the power in you, let it flow." she stated. Alaric tried to concentrate but had too much on his mind, all these questions without answers.

"Let's try something, think about your earliest memories living in Doilria." Alaric went into deep thought. He remembered being in a crib, and on the ceiling was a baby mobile with small dragons on it. "I see a woman and a man, they're dressed very formally. The man has a crown, it's well detailed, and is he?" She nodded, "Yes, King Qalzrin is your father." Alaric stood up and gasped. Then he was pacing around trying to process this.

"No, that can't be. I know my mother and father, they raised me!"

"I know it seems a lot, but there's a reason why you're here and not there." she said. But Alaric was still struggling, "I need to go." Tyshira sighed as he left. Alaric stormed off and left the basement and the shed.

He went to find Levin to ease this information off. "Hey, where did you go? My class finished early." Levin stated. Alaric was in front of him still, underwhelmed. Levin noticed his unease. "Can we talk, please?" Levin nodded, and then they walked.

They walked to a park and sat on a bench. "I'm adopted and the son of the king." Alaric mentioned. Levin looked at him wide-eyed. "Oh, um, ok. How are you taking this?" he asked. Alaric just looked down. "I don't know, this is just so much, I lived with my parents and they raised me since, I guess, birth."

But Alaric was still skeptical. Did his parents know about his lineage or not? He stared at the ground, but then got up. Levin saw him, "You know what, I'm not gonna let this torment me. I'm gonna live with this, and maybe I actually found a purpose in life." Alaric stated.

Levin smiled and agreed. "Then you should train then. Because who knows, you could be a superhero too." Alaric nodded, "Come on, let's go!" Alaric took his hand and ran off. Levin went with him, blushing a little at the contact.

Meanwhile, Leviathan was checking the incubators of the creatures. There were many of them, some with lycan-like features, some were humanoid creatures. He then lowered a small lever, and the incubators started to open. Blue slime substance came out, and the creatures started to come to life.

They pounded on the glass to break free. "Now you will go and kill the young heir before he becomes powerful." he said.

In the meantime, Alaric and Levin were at the shed that Tyshira was in; they were in the training room. She was teaching him hand-to-hand combat. "You need to be more offensive than defensive." She said as Alaric fell. "Ugh, you're too fast!" he claimed. "But your enemy will be faster, and won't have mercy." As she helped him up. While Levin was giggling.

Alaric just glared at him. Levin shrugged, "What, you're trying too hard. This isn't martial arts." he said. "Well, I have taken a few classes, you know." Alaric stated. Levin playfully rolled his eyes, then Tyshira sighed.

"Let's try something else," she suggested, "I'll teach you how to sword fight." She got some practice swords. She handed one to Alaric, and he held it surprisingly perfectly. She was surprised that he held it well. She remembered how his father would hold his sword.

Alaric noticed her saddened gaze. "You ok, Tyshira?" he asked. She snapped out of it. "Yes, just remembering how your father used his sword." she claimed. Alaric nodded and took his stance. She did the same and began the training. Levin smiled as he saw Alaric train. This time, Alaric was more concentrated.

He swung his sword with grace and precision, always deflecting Tyshira's blows. She was surprised he was this good. "Is this your first time with a practice sword?" she asked. "Yes, it is, I'm quite surprised." Alaric said.

Then, in one swift move, he took down Tyshira. She fell and was stunned, and impressed by his sudden skills. Alaric landed her a hand, "Sorry, didn't mean to push you so hard." he said. "It's fine, you need to know how strong you can become," she stated, "Now go home and rest up." Alaric nodded and got his stuff.

Levin followed him and waved at Tyshira. They walked and took another route, a bit longer nonetheless. "You're quite calm with all this, Levin." he said. "Ya, I know. Dragons, you being a prince, it's honestly like a novel, haha." he laughed. Alaric laughed as well, "Ya, true with what happened a few years ago." he said

Levin looked at him with a little concern. "Hey, it's in the past, and I'm here for you; those people can't hurt you anymore." he reassured Alaric. He nodded and saw his house. "Thanks, Levin, you're the best friend I've ever had, and who never left me after that." he said.

Alaric met Levin's eyes and stared at those light brown eyes. Alaric then gave Levin a hug. Levin was surprised, but smiled and hugged him back. Alaric stayed there for a few moments but realized he was hugging him too long.

He pulled away and gave a nervous smile. "Well, I'll see you tomorrow, right?" he asked. "Ya, it's Sunday, so I'll be there around nine, forty-five." Levin said. Alaric nodded and waved, while Levin left. Alaric went to his room and layed on his bed looking at the ceiling.

"God, please help me through this, I can't go at it alone. Levin and Tyshira are helping me, but I'm not sure it's gonna be enough," he prayed, then stared at a picture on his desk. It was a picture of him and Levin at a park when they were younger. "I love him, but he only sees me as a friend, so please get rid of these feelings for him, or if deep down he likes me, can you let him know that I love him."

He kept staring at the picture, then he felt his eyes shut, and fell asleep. Almost dreaming what his life would be like if he were with Levin.
