Her eyes widened. "...Was that a cat?"
Another sound.
"Meow."
Aira immediately pushed the bushes aside, and there it was. A tiny white, fluffy cat. It was sitting beneath a bush. Its fur was completely dirty. Leaves were stuck to its body. Its tail was covered in mud. It looked absolutely miserable. Its large eyes stared up at her.
One golden. One crimson.
Aira's heart melted instantly.
"Oh my gosh."
She crouched. "You're so cute!"
The cat stared at her.
Aira extended her hand. "Come here, little one."
The cat's ears twitched. It looked at her suspiciously.
Aira smiled. "Don't be afraid."
The cat slowly approached. However, the young servant immediately grabbed Aira's shoulder.
"Your Grace, don't touch it."
Aira looked at him. "Why?"
"We don't know where it came from."
"It's just a cat."
"It could be dangerous."
Aira looked at the tiny, fluffy creature. The cat blinked innocently. Aira pointed at it. "Does that cute face look dangerous to you?"
