"So, you wish for Beauxbatons to possess a 'Dumbledore' of its own?"
As Nicolas's words fell, Madame Maxime's slender fingers unconsciously began to stroke the rim of her wine glass.
She instantly understood the hidden implication in Nicolas's words—in the eyes of this legend who had lived for over six centuries, Lucien was destined to become a figure like Dumbledore, someone who would reach the apex of the era and be looked up to by the entire wizarding world.
Maxime knew the weight of this evaluation better than anyone.
Nicolas Flamel had known Albus Dumbledore since his early years. He was someone who had witnessed Dumbledore's brilliance in his youth and watched him grow step by step into the greatest wizard of the age.
And Lucien was Nicolas's student. Nicolas naturally understood his aptitude and potential better than anyone else.
If there was anyone in this world most qualified to make this judgment, it could only be Nicolas himself.
Maxime nodded gently, her voice carrying a rare sincerity:
"I do indeed wish to hand Beauxbatons over to a successor capable of leading it to its absolute peak."
Even though she had anticipated it, hearing Nicolas voice that evaluation personally still shook Maxime to her core.
It was a "certification" from a living legend regarding another growing legend.
At this moment, Maxime's desire to recruit Lucien reached its zenith.
Maxime's answer and reaction, however, suddenly conjured an amusing image in Nicolas's mind—an outstanding Hogwarts graduate running off to Beauxbatons to serve as a professor, or even Headmaster. It seemed...
Quite interesting, actually?
Two people with different thoughts coincidentally cast their gazes toward Lucien on the other side of the hall.
The boy was currently standing beside a decorative magical plant with Fleur. They were chatting about something, smiles on both their faces.
Seeing the two exceptionally good-looking young people standing together was simply a feast for the eyes.
If one were to judge solely on looks, Fleur was indeed the more dazzling one at this moment.
After all, Lucien was only twelve. Even if he was more mature than his peers, his face still carried a trace of boyishness; he still lacked a few years of growth and transformation.
Fleur, on the other hand, was three or four years older. She was sixteen, in the absolute prime of her youth.
The charm boost from her mixed Veela heritage, combined with the faint silver glow around her that shimmered despite her best efforts to suppress it, made Fleur look increasingly beautiful and radiant.
Yet, when the two stood side by side, onlookers didn't get the feeling that Lucien was being overshadowed by Fleur in the slightest.
Fleur was beautiful like the bright moon, but Lucien was like the sky, calmly encompassing everything.
Watching the picture-perfect pair, Madame Maxime took an elegant sip of her red wine.
Sometimes, a school's charm didn't rely solely on the Headmaster, did it?
The students were the main body of the school, after all.
Mutual attraction between students was such a normal thing, especially for young people whose hearts were just beginning to stir. So what if they belonged to different schools?
Besides, hadn't Lucien already invented "SwiftSpeak"?
Distance would no longer be an issue.
Heh, just like the phrase that the greatest wizard of the century often kept on his lips—Love is the greatest magic in the world.
Isn't it?
Nicolas looked at Lucien and Fleur, then looked up at the thoughtful smile on Maxime's face. With his experience, how could he not guess what she was thinking? He chuckled and said:
"That child has a simple heart. Mm, fortunately, she has already been studying and living at Beauxbatons for several years."
Hearing this, the smile on Maxime's face stiffened slightly.
She suddenly realized the problem, too.
Right. Fleur, in a certain sense, was indeed quite "simple."
Because her life so far had been too smooth—outstanding looks, rare bloodline, excellent grades. She had walked a path where she was always the one being praised and surrounded.
How could a "chosen one" who never needed to cater to or please others develop the habit of analyzing other people's thoughts?
Yet, Lucien—who was clearly more talented, had an even smoother path, and was two or three years younger—behaved with far more maturity and accommodation.
Maxime's finger tapped lightly against her wine glass, making a faint sound.
If Fleur hadn't already spent five years at Beauxbatons, establishing a solid enough sense of belonging...
Then there was a real possibility that instead of recruiting him, Fleur might have been the one getting "abducted" by Lucien back to Hogwarts...
